I {heart} Ponies

Well, I don't actually, but I had some of the new pony ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.  I whipped up a quick rosette that any pony loving girl would love amongst their gymkhana rosettes...

You can find all the exclusive new ribbons here.

Rings

Big smiles here today!  Look at my new rings!!

Let me take you through them one by one...

A pink rose button glued to a gold ring blank.

A white heart button tied with neon thread stuck to a silver blank

A stack of blue buttons tied with neon thread and stuck to a gold blank

A yummy green button tied with narrow blue satin ribbon stuck to a gold blank.

A green flower button tied with daffodil yellow 3mm and stuck to a silver blank.

Some green buttons sewn with thread and stuck to a silver blank

And a micro lilac button tied with purple 3mm and stick to a silver blank

I got my ring blanks from ebay and all the toppers from Crafty Ribbons, and really you are only limited by your imagination.  You can stick any thing to the top of any blank.  Plastic for the kids, real silver for the adults...

I'm off to find more things I can use... I'm working on an idea with a small pencil - we'll see!

Ahoy There! ready

Pirate ribbons!!  Oh yes!  My first thought was kids have themed parties, Pirates and Princesses, for example.  So I made some pirate themed party goodies.

A table/name setting...

using Pirate Crew and Red Skulls ribbon.

A scroll invitation

And party bags

Here they are together

And perhaps my favourite,

an eye patch made with elastic, felt and red Aye Aye ribbon.

So much fun...  I can't wait to do things like this for my nephew!

B & L & P

I had loads of little snippets of card left over from my counterfeit kit.  Also bits of vellum from trimming of the gold doilies.  I cut them all in to triangles with the idea of using them as confetti.  What do you think?

These alpha stickers were added to the kit - the ones in my kit just didn't work.  (Plus I had a pile of new stash screaming at me - PLAY WITH ME!! - and so I did.)

Unfortunately these aren't my kiddies so I've blurred them out - best be on the safe side when it comes to photos of kids.

Another layout with muted colours.  Is my taste changing?

Minty

I collated what was left of my March Counterfeit Kit to see how I was doing...

I didn't use as many brads as I had hoped... I really wanted to use the '+' brads with the '+' paper but couldn't work out how.  Not much card/paper left.  Loads of stickers left but I never intended to use the whole pack.

I think I did well with the alphas.  Pretty much exhausted to glittered alphas.  I go to  wordsolver.net  to find words that can be made from my leftovers.  Others might be used for initials, or a mixed alpha title.

This layout came about from assessing the leftovers and thinking I could squeeze one more out!  I had to add a sheet for the base from my stash.

I trimmed an H to make two I's, used a 'z' on it's side for an 'N'  (is it an 'n' or a 'n'?  Anyway...)  and all the strips and offcuts of card and vellum were given pennant edges and layered up.

A doodled border and some scribbled journalling...

Considering it came from nothing I'm really pleased.

I'd like to enter at Studio Challenges 'M'

Laura & the Long Lens

This is a layout made from the contents of my Counterfeit Kit.  (By the way I always spell Counterfeit wrong!)

Here is the title...

using some punctuation brads that have sat unused for yonks!

A close up of some layering...

I used the transparencies!!!  :)

More layering of washi and vellum etc...

Which all put together made this layout...

Very colourless by my standards but I really like it.  I must do some more subtly coloured craft soon.

A Couple of Layouts

I wanted to document how proud I am of my little cousin so I dedicated this layout to her hockey achievements.  Again using stash from my counterfeit kit from March it all came together quickly and enjoyably...

And another layout with kit supplies...

I used some of the disaster cardstock that was salvaged from the last layout.  Again I managed to use some punctuation brads.  Really pleased that by putting them in the kit I have made myself use them.

And just to make the journalling clear... 'Ponytail extensions?  No this is Bobby the Budgie playing whilst I craft.  Sweet gentle budgie kisses and tiny footsteps across my neck, grooming my hair as he goes.'  He was just a baby here, and such a gentle budgie - makes me realise just how bite-y my current Budgie Billy is!!  I shall have to have words with her!  :)

A Layout

Another layout made from the contents of my March counterfeit kit.  This one has a lovely pastel-y feel.

I've used my home made patterned paper and three shades of seam binding.  There are 124 colours here and I just happened to have the three shades that matched my flowers perfectly.  I could call this good buying but actually it was just luck.  Really chuffed!

Happy times.  I have a few more layouts that need to have posts written for them and then I get to play with some new stash that arrived last week :)

Hmm...

Well this one was tricky!  This layout started out like this...

using stash from my March counterfeit kit but I detested it!  It was so anaemic, boring and I just couldn't make it work.  I know why...  I hate the background cardstock.  Even knocked back with a wash of gesso the pattern still made me eyes hurt! What ever I put on top of it seemed to become invisible because all I could see was zigzags.  So I rescued the alphas, the photo and the clip and tore the rest of the paper off.  Then I took a day off and started again...

Quite a lot of the zigzag card was salvageable.  It was distressed and ripped.  I began to like it a little bit.  A gave it another wash of gesso and cut it to the same size as the photo and an idea was born.

The paperclip embellishment was made from a button with the shank cut off.  Lots of seam binding.
I went in to my stash for a sheet of glittered cardstock that set things off perfectly.

I know that this is a rubbish photo but I wanted to show just how sparkly it ended up.  And because I used foam squares to attach things there was a gorgeous shadow too.

In the end I followed this sketch from Stuck but flipped it upside down

and will link up to their challenge.

Loved

I struggled to put a title to this page, then came to the conclusion that actually 'you are loved' covered it perfectly.  Me and my baby cousin from years ago.

I got some good use of sequins and stickers, and added a couple of buttons together with seam binding.  I think they almost look like a pink daffodil!  I kept it simple because I think that is what the backing paper/vellum needed.

Super happy with this one :)

All contents from my Counterfeit Kit except the seam binding... but I'm weak... I need a free flowing supply of ribbon!!  :D

I Love Ewe

A little card to share today...

I've used Ewe ribbon and digi paper from Crafty Ribbons, and red and grey offcuts from my stash.

Sharing over at the playground and at inkspirational where the photo inspiration is
