WOYWW - Happy Desk Day!

Ah, I despair sometimes.  My desk.  Look at the state of it!

You'd think with it being a big desk I'd be able to keep a little area clear.  I have a theory that whatever the size of desk - even half a mile long - I would still manage to make it all messy!

So what you are seeing is; counterfeit kit, washi, ribbon piles, tools that haven't been put back, piles of paper that should be in the kit box and other assorted mess ;)

Thanks for stopping by

  2. Its true, no matter how much space we have, we will fill it, and end up crafting in a space the size of the card we are making! LOL. Have a great week, Hugs. Shaz #38 xxx

    1. No no, it's all above board! counterfeitkitchallenge.blogspot.co.uk is a monthly 'put your own scrapbook kit together from your unused stash because we can't afford to have a monthly kit club subscription' kind of group :)

  5. A very impressive collection of washi tapes you have there! Which reminds me, I need to get some more! They're so useful for collaging! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #50

  6. May your desk be messy and happy always. The sight of a clean desk is the sign of a sick mind! My theory and I am sticking to it!
No matter what size your desk is you will always find yourself working a space only 1" bigger than your project!
Now as for my purchases, I had been saving up to have a good spend in US since Christmas, by restricting what I bought so I flipping well deserved it! Not stopping now though as those C stamps and stencil were bought after I got back!! OOps! And the reason why Hubby was carrying some was that he had a hard shell case and fitted the 12 x 12 pads in perfectly! Only two of those so not an issue! I was carrying his hat in my carry on!
    Hugs

  7. I actually do notice a tiny little spot that you could probably work on (making an inchy?! *lol*) but I think you're right... however big the desk may be, some (most) people would just use that too and get everything on the desk... never mind, it works for you isn't it? And I love to take a look at it! Happy crafting, happy woyww and a hug from Holland! Marit #58

  8. That is so funny--I always think the same thing, no matter how much space I have I'll fill it up! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #34

  10. It's true the more space you have the more you fill it with. I don't think though that your desk looks all that bad. Anne x #27

  11. I agree, the bigger the desk, the bigger the mess! But you have a lovely desk. I like that shelf above it to exhibit your work.
Thank you for letting me peep over your shoulder.
    Have a good week,

  12. I fear it is true, the more space you have the more you fill it though my house has expanding walls Lol! or so my husband says.

  13. Wow, you certainly have one or two washi tapes there. I think the more mess the more creative (that's why I'm having trouble. I cleaned). I love the little canvasses on your shelf, they are really pretty.
    Have a great week,

  14. I'm not sure how it happens, but on my desk the area available for crafting just shrinks and shrinks!!! Ugh! Silly desk - I need SPACE to move & create! Hang in there!!!

    Happy Crafting!

  16. Doesn't look too bad to me, Laura! However, the trouble is, the bigger the desk, the bigger the potential for mess. I know from experience! I am trying to reorganise things a bit in my ARTHaven now, and that should help prevent the dumping ground syndrome a bit.

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment. I so agree with you about the same stuff being marketed again with different applicators... TH did a good video tut on how to decant distress stains into mini-misters and I am perfectly happy to do that. Anyway, even if I wanted to spend a lot of money on an entire new collection of DSs I haven't got anywhere convenient to keep them! As for the rest of his stuff, I have got quite a bit but I don't do his challenges, and tend to mix and match the stuff with other things so it doesn't get too samey. I don't want all my work to shout "Tim Holtz" however much I might like the stuff! I definitely couldn't do without distress inks, anyway!

I'm afraid my facial expressions have not changed for the better with the "improved" flavour of the Gaviscon. It's still revolting!!

Glad you like my felt poppies. They now have nice shiny beads in the centre and are attached to a hair clip. I shall be blogging about it soon.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  17. Thanks for the visit already. I am late to visit as I had a self inflicted deadline to achieve...Your desk looks like mine and mine is half a mile long, so I have more mess!

  18. Ah Laura, and my theory is that however much or little space - I'll use it and leave it untidy! however untidy you think yours is, it always looks so welcoming and cheerful. And frankly, making counterfeit kits just causes me to have EVERYTHING out, so again I say - what mess?!!

Hello, Happy Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday !  As promised a picture of last Wednesdays 'work' finished off.  Post and more photos here . This week I'm showing off the beaded ATC I made... Tricky to photograph so your getting one with flash and one without... It was all parcelled up and sent off to Queen of Desks Julia .  Here is a basic of how it was made... (lots of waffle about wefts and warps!) I use a flexible beading needle.  It is mainly 'eye' so it is very easy to thread. And delica beads which are more regular and accurate than the better known seed bead.  They are slightly more rectangular than round so they line up better. Thread your needle with the weft thread.  (The cross ways thread that weaves back and forth.)  Pick up the beads... Pass the needlefull of beads underneath the warp (tight length ways) threads on the loom... ...and push each bead up in the corresponding g

Hoppity!

Hoppity hoppity!!  :) Hopeful you have arrived here from Fleur 's blog as part of the Crafty Ribbons Easter Hop .  If not and you've found yourself here wondering what on earth I'm on about (and let’s face it J you wouldn’t be the first!!) check out the Inspirations site for all the juicy details! My project for the hop is         Easter bunting!  I cut three templates first - a triangle pennant, a bird and a heart.        Then I cut the pennant shapes from fibre ribbon, threaded them on to some 3mm satin and evenly spaced them.  I embellished each flag with some beads...       I backed the birds and heart on some thin white card and glued them to the centre of the pennants.   My supplies list: yellow fibre , pink fibre , lime fibre , 3mm satin , button box , white card, glue, beads, needle and thread.   At each stop on the hop there'll be a word to collect and a candy draw. I've got these

WOYWW & Card Deck Swap

First up is my desk ... Hmm.  Perhaps the less said the better!  I really should have a sort out but I fancy desking instead! Next I want to share my card deck swaps (deskers don't have to stay for this bit but I reckon you'd enjoy joining in with us, which is why I'm including it in this post) You can read about the swap here on Jessica's blog and sign up here .  Basically, we take a deck of cards, add paint and/or paper, then add a positive sentiment to each card.  Post them to Jessica who shuffles them and sends back 52 different cards from different artists (yes, you are an artist!) from all over the world. These few are ones I have picked out to display first.  I'll swap them round after a few weeks.  Do you like my domino pegs?  :) Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll at least consider joining us for the card swap - it's like a super sized ATC swap, and all WOYWW er's know they are fun! See you at your desk x
