Today & Always

I'm on a roll with scraplifting for this weeks Mind The Scrap challenge... First up is this clean and simple layout based on Claire Murphy's original. My supplies are from Pretty Little Studio - a mixture of collections, the stars are from Ashley Horton's Wish You Were Here. The project life cards which are gold foiled (which means REALLY hard to photograph!) are all adhered at different heights.  It's those little details that I love! There are few more coming but will be spread out over the next couple of weeks... stay tuned!

today

A fun, colourful, summery layout whipped up on this miserable grey day!!  The mixed media was mainly left over Shimmerz mixed for another layout.  I just can't waste paints and pastes!  I added in a few bits n bobs from my stash: Emoji sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps, a foiled flair (possibly from Cuts2luv, found abandonned on my desk!) a Perspextive from Bramble Fox, half used sticker sheets (that just won't die!  I swear I've been using them since 2014!) I've also hand cut a flamingo from a gold foiled PL card from Pretty Little Studios and attached some pink rope legs with knots for knees.  My favourite thing about the whole layout is the flamingo knees! Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate & Love & Care

Here is a recent layout made using Cocoa Vanilla Studios goodies for Mind The Scrap's Summer Challenge. I didn't think through anything before starting so the process video is a little longer than usual but I thought it was interesting nonetheless. I'm giving myself brownie points for using more arrows and more stash.  If I carry on like this I will be able to buy the new release when it arrives in stock at Lottie Loves Paper! Thanks for stopping by!

Always Happy

The Sparklers have been scraplifting Jen Schow this week.  I love Jen's work but found it really hard to make a Jen-esque layout that I was happy with! This is what I ended up with and I love it!  This is the pin I lifted, which I also love. The sequins are Sea Shell What? and are a lovely blue, green and slilver mix - almost too good to cover up with glassine bags! The flair is an old Cocoa Vanilla Studio exclusive.  (Still working my way through my CVS stash to justify buying the new collection when it is released!) Here is a quick video of the process: Thanks for looking!

always love...

Have you seen the new collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio?  Of course you have, it was all over the scrappy world in minutes of being debuted!  I *want* all of it.  But I have so much stuff, especially CVS stuff, that I need to make a good dent in what I have before I am allowed to buy more! So this will be the first of a run of CVS layouts!  I can't tell you what bit came from what collection but it all CVS other than the white alphas, doily and ribbon. I struggle with using arrows, they never seem to make it on to the final page for me.  I got three on this layout... which of course means I can buy the new CVS ephemera pack as I am now low on arrows! I love a bit of bunting.  This string is tied on to and held up by a skewer. And I used a proper long title too.  I'm torn in two.  I love the very minimal style but I need to get some stash used up.  This still has white space but uses more materials than I usually use....

Stick It Down

A super simple layout today using this month's Stick It Down sketch... Pretty much a straight forward copy of the sketch too... I've used Daniel Smith watercolours and Moonshine Delight sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps. Here's the video... I hope to see you join us over at Stick It Down - card and double page sketches available too - we've got you covered!

Ribbon Embroidery meets Scrapbooking - take 1!

There seems to be a real trend for ribbon embroidered flowers at the moment.  I have no experience in this but thouoght I'd try to combine it with my love of scrapbooking.  In hindsight I should have learnt the art of ribbon embroidery first before attempting to do it on cardstock and over a photo.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing! Any how it turned out OK in the end.  The photo is of blooms way past their best so I added some brown watercolour to my silk ribbon flowers to make it look like they had turned too. You can find some ribbon embroidery kits from Crafty Ribbons (with good clear instructions) here and a huge stash of silk ribbons here .  I have used pieces from a scrap bag which is a great way to get started. Despite the trickyness and frustration it is safe to say I will be trying this again.  I'll be stocking up on silk ribbon too, as they are lovely to work with! I added some spotty tissue paper and sequins too.  I do...

Sneak!

I'm on the UK Scrap Addicts blog and YouTube channel today... be sure to pop over for the full layout.

Perfect Imperfections

I love tulips.  I especially love the petals that are a little bit wrong!  Let me explain... the petals that have had a hole eaten in them by a caterpillar, the petal that got bruised it transit and is a different colour to the others, or the petal that has a streak of green in them like the weren't sure if they were meant to be a petal or a leaf! So that is what these photos are!  The layout is a combination of challenges.  It fits the Mind The Scrap summer challenge but I was working with the Cuts2Luv challenge in mind. I've used 2 of the same photo, chevrons and the sketch... loosely!  And of course some of their flair . I've also used sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps , and a tonne of pink hearts from my stash.  Sometimes I have to put all the pink on one layout to use it up!! Thanks for stopping by!

MISTI

I caved and bought a 12x12 MISTI.  I suck at stamping - really awful!  Hopefully I should improve with a MISTI in my arsenal.  I have learned already that you do need to realign your card to the corner after each stamp impression if you are double stamping.  Even if you have used both magnets it can move slightly.  You'll see in the video below... The stamp is by Concord & 9th.  It is beautiful!  It must be as I bought it before the MISTI and it prompted me to take the plunge! I've water coloured with my Daniel Smith's and added thread, sequins, ric rac, enamel dots and vellum shapes. It's fair to say this is one of my favourites.  Perhaps I need to do more stamping?

est 2002

I've just got my hands on some of Ashley Horton's Wish You Were Here collection from Pretty Little Studios.  It is lush!  I wish I had bought more than I did! I got the 6x6 papers and knew this stripy paper needed to be cut up and stuck back down spaced out.  I added a tonne of mixed media and some stitching. I can't wait to make more with this collection.  There are some aeroplanes which I'm itching to use!  My grandfather (and my uncle) was a pilot so I need to find some photos of him to print off. Thanks for looking!

Scraplifting Kat

This week at SpiegelMom Scraps we are scraplifting Kat Benjamin .  I found a layout I loved and set to work... As Kat is a member of Pretty Little Studios design team it made sense to pull a few of my PLS goodies out too!  I have used some labels, alpha tiles and printed acetate. The grey patterned paper is from Pink Fresh and I have been hoarding it!! I added a few felt hearts and some Honour Guard sequins from SpiegelMom's. And finished it off with the perfect flair from Bramble Fox! Thanks for looking!

E

I indulged in a little Cocoa Vanilla playtime... Colour Me Happy is so hoardable that I haven't used much so far! Fussy cutting was the order of the day, plus the usual - Shimmerz sprays, SpiegelMom sequins, enamel dots.  I also threw in some teal lace. I added some subtle glitter with Shimmerz Paste-eez in Puttin On The Glitz . The sequins are from the Black Tie Event mix.
