Pine Cone Decoration

I am absolutely in love with this pine cone rubber stamp from Skull & Cross Buns.  I stamped a whole bunch of the and fussy cut them out... I scored a line right down the middle of each cone and folded them... I then stuck 5 of them together, sandwiching a length of ribbon in the middle. I tied the ribbon ends in a bow and added a few strings of sequins .  I now want to make a set of these to decorate this years Christmas tree! Linking up at Inspire Me Monday

Shakey Shake!

Autumn is my favourite (until spring arrives!) mainly for the colours and falling leaves.  I've made a shaker card capturing my favourite parts...  Here's the process: And a few close ups... The cut file is from Pretty My Page. Thanks for stopping by!

The First Cut

I've had CVS Bohemian Dreams sitting in my craft room for a while now but haven't been able to make the first cut!  Finally it happened... I was desperate to use my new Skull and Corss Buns stamp for the background.  I feel the urge to do more rubber stamping at the moemnt... we'll see where it takes me! Sequins from SpiegelMom's of course! And here's the process: Thanks for looking!

Kelly Barron

This week's SpiegelMom Scraps project was to scraplift our guest designer - Kelly Barron. I took days to decide which layout to lift.  I could have lifted Kelly 's entire back catalogue!! I eventually settled on the layout above - a stunner, I'm sure you'll agree. As you can see from the video I pulled out some Shimmerz Dazzlerz and Texturez.  They are currently 50% off in the shop .  Add my code: Laura15 and you'll get an absolute bargain! The stencil is from Pretty My Page and I'm sure will become one of my favourites. The sequins are Rollin' Rustic and are the perfect neutral sequin mix. Thanks for stopping by!

Nativity

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, in every shop you see.  It's too early for me, I'd prefer a ban until November!  But hey, that's not how it works... Crafty Ribbons have three new Christmas ranges for this year, Nativity being the first release. Thanks for stopping by! p.s. I hope you sung the first line of this blog post!!

Christmas Gift Box

It's probably sitll too early for some of you but I'm blogging about Christmas... I made this cute Christmas gift box using ribbon from the Advent range from Crafty Ribbons. I added a tag and lid topper cut on my Silhouette Cameo to match the featured star design.  Really simple - i.e. wrapping double sided tape around a premade box and sticking ribbon on.  It's a great way to recycle boxes as the ribbon covers up and design or branding. Thanks for stopping by.

Stick It Down

Warning: Slightly Graphic(ish) Content - you might want to give this one a miss if you are squeamish! This month's Stick It Down layouts are to be based on this sketch. I stuck to pretty much exactly.  I've scrapped about the time I sewed through my thumb with the sewing machine... Black, white and red seemed like the perfect colour palette.  This issue is black and white - I need to rest when I am tired.  When I don't, um... I end up seeing red stuff! The flair is from Feed Your Craft, sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps and ric rac from Crafty Ribbons. One day I was tired but carried on sewing, the old 'just finish this one then I'll rest' thing that all M.E. sufferers know so well.  The needle went through my nail and into my thumb and then snapped.  We pulled the half needle out complete with bloody thread.  The nail bed healed pretty quickly and the hole in the nail grew out.  I was lucky.  I really ought to listen to my body and rest

Watercolor Colouring Book

I discovered a wonderful colouring book from Kirsty Rice called Summer Cutting Garden.  (I think there are/will be the other seasons too.)  It's on good thick paper, single sided and beautifully illustrated.  I had a play with my Daniel Smith watercolours with no aim in mind.  When the painting was finished (why didn't a take a photo?!) I thought I could turn it into a layout, so I started fussy cutting... After quite some time with my scissors and then a craft knife for the inner areas my wreath was ready. After adding a little watercolour to the background I popped the wreath up on foam pads for dimension. I added loads of sequins - I kept wondering if it was too many but I couldn't stop!! I added a few strips of journalling over one of the flowers. Highly recommend this book if you like playing with watercolours! Thanks for stopping by.

Catching Autumn Dreams

Oh Autumn, I love your colours!  I pulled out an old like for ever kit containing Pink Paislee Cedar Lane for this layout.  I used some Studio Calico rub ons and two sequin mixes from SpiegelMom Scraps - Aquarius and Star Spangeld. I mounted my phtos on to a doily and dipped in to my evergrowing stash of Gutermann threads to add tassels.  It gives the impression of a dream catcher, sort of! Thanks for looking!

Fluffed Up for Autumn

I instantly fell in love with the falling leaves cut file from Pretty My Page.  I played with the file in Studio and cut out lots of leaves on vellum. Whilst the images were still on the cutting mat I coloured them with Shimmerz (and a couple of Mr Huey's too) paints and mists.  I peeled them off the cutting mat when they were partially dry and left them to dry completely. As they dried they curled up and went all crunchy - just like real Autumn leaves! I made two layouts with them... one on light kraft teamed with copper alphas and sequins. And another on white carstock.  I adhered the leaves with small glue dots so they could remain curly and dimensional. I could have added more embellishments but, honestly, the leaves are so fabulous I didn't want anything to detreact from them and the photo! This is my favourite photo of old Daisy Girl.  How I miss her naughty garden antics! Here is the video... Thanks for stopping by!

I've been playing with a fabulous cut file from Pretty My Page ...  PMP sell pre cut cut files so you don't need a cameo or scan'n'cut to use cut files in your crafting.  Soon they will be selling the digital files too, like I played with here. I've not used it as intended but that is the beauty of a cut file - you can switch it up any which way. I've used my Daniel Smith watercolours to colour up the cut file.  I knew I'd be using watercolour so I cut on good quality watercolour paper.  It works well with the silhouette cameo but you do need to double cut. You'll see in the video I cut a load of butterflies that I didn't use... they'll feature on a future layout I'm sure! Beautiful Jennie dog.  I want a Norfolk Terrier one day... And I added some sequins too, these are SpiegelMom Scraps Moonshine Delight . Here's the vid: I hope you check out Pretty My Page especially if you don't have a cutting m
