A Green and Blue Hello

I've made this card for the challenges at Less Is More and CAS-ual Fridays .  LIM set the sketch and CF set the colour pallet. Let me know what you think...

New Home Card

I have had these glue transfers for ages.  They are from 7 gypsies, I don't remember when I bought them or where from, or even why, and I only know they are 7 gypsies because it says so on the packet!  I have no idea what I intended to use them on. Any how I came across them when looking for some brads and thought it'd be nice to try and use them.  They came with a sheet of foil, a sheet of flock and a sheet of glitter.  I plumped for the glitter. Chandeliers, I really don't know what occasion you should use these for, but a new home seems as appropriate as any. I flanked the three word sentiment with two smaller transfers and glittered them. I will enter this in to Less Is More's 3 challenge - three transfers, three words. And also Incy Wincy's Dust it Off challenge - the glue transfers. Thanks for stopping by :)

Spotty, Dotty and Yellow

I'm so loving working with yellow!  Here is my second yellow card for Less is More . I've combined the sketch from Retro Sketches , the yellow from Less is More , and included a Happy Birthday for Casual Fridays . I've inked the edges of my papers with canary yellow ink.  I used swiss dots grosgrain ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. Happy Birthday peel off for Casual Fridays - Happy Birthday Guys!! I've made a slit in the spine of the card and looped the ribbon through.  I've hidden the join underneath the bow.

Flowers and a Butterfly

Here is my take on Less Is More's Yellow challenge .  I love yellow!   I also love my Martha Stewart border punch.   And I love butterflies and flowers.   So I put them altogether and got this card. The card blank is graded.  It's almost white on the punched edge whereas the opposite edge is a sunny, warm yellow. I added a couple of Papermania Colour Capsule flowers and arrange some small silver sequins as the centre.  I love the the light bounces off the sequins. The butterfly is also a silver sequin.  I adhered it with Pinflair glue gel so it is raised. This photo highlights the contrast between the punched edge and the plain edge. You know when you are part way through making one card and suddenly come up with the design for another?   Well, whilst making this I came up with four or five designs I want to make, so look out for some more yellow clean and si...

Less Is More Sketch

This weeks Less is More Challenge is based on a sketch.  There are already some great entries... Here is my take...  To me the sketch screamed aperture. Close ups of the centre piece... One taken from the front of the card through the aperture and one taken with the card open. I used a Tatty Teddy brad, layered it up with coordinating papers with inked edges.  I also inked the edges of the card and the aperture.  I stamped 'hello' with shadow and london fog (I love that grey is never called grey!)  Then using the very subtle shadow ink I added a butterfly stamp to the front and flower stamps to the inside. Just because I hadn't really finished using my daily allowance of creativity I added a butterfly to the envelope too! I feel like I need to apologise for the quality of the photos today.  The weather is so pants that the light isn't good enough for a crisp shot.  I should have rigged some daylight li...

Doodlebird

Afternoon all! Here is a card for Less is More's one layer and doodled challenge. I sat last night and doodled a bird.  I had looked through a book by Walter T Foster called How to Draw and Paint Birds.  It's quite an old book, we found it when clearing my grandparents house, but frustratingly it has no date anywhere.  Grr! This morning I sat down with my doodle, a burgundy card blank, some white transfer paper, a white pencil and two white pens and doodled again.  The white transfer paper gave me the opportunity to get some matte fine lines, the pencil some soft sketchy strokes and the pens some highlights. I finished with an organza ribbon because I like ribbon!!  :) I'm quite pleased with it except for the eye which just doesn't look quite right.  Tips on drawing eyes greatly received!! I'm also going to enter this in to Crafty Ribbons Challenge - things with wings. Thanks for stopping by

Friend Card II

I said I would and I did! Here is my Less is More card repeated but this time with butterflies instead of hearts .  I think I prefer the butterflies. Whilst making this one I kept coming up with slight variations I could try.  I'm particularly intrigued by the idea of flowers with three shades of green stitched stems... Maybe more to follow..!
