Friday Smiles

Autumnal Friday Smiles :)

Last Couple Of Layouts For CKC October

Here are the last couple of layouts from my reign as Queen Counterfeit ... I'm not crazy about either layout.  They don't feel very me. But I used every last bit of paper from my kit.  There are a few stickers left but not many.  I think my next kit should have slightly less paper and slightly more embellishments - I think my scrapping has changed slightly and altering my kits seems to be the solution to the mass of paper left near the end of the month. I'm not sure I will counterfeit in November as I have some other projects that need finishing (and a couple that need both starting and finishing!)

George

Another of my beautiful bunnies... I'm liking the green, pale pink and a pop of coral together.  Must use these colours together more often... A little bit of washi here and there...  enamel dots too. Gold roses - what is not to like?! I notice that occasionally I can make things that don't involve ribbon.  When this does happen there are almost always buttons.  I think ribbon and buttons are my all time favourite supplies :) Nearly done with sharing my CK layouts for this month, just one more to come tomorrow.  See you then!

Still Laughing

Another new favourite... for the layout and the subject. I desperately wanted to get all the quote in alphas so I stretched the pack with some silhouette letters.  It seems that my girls words had an unusual amount of o's, or alpha stickers never have enough vowels! I had used all my embellishments by this stage of the kit so I added some more enamel dots. I got a good amount of stickers on here too.  The JOY banner actual said enjoy, but joy fitted better.  My crazy girls bring me joy. Thanks for stopping by

I couldn't title this one. In fact I hid all the journalling and date and names.  They are tucked away in the pink and white envelope - I'm fine if no one ever reads them, I'm fine if someone finds them. My only embellishments are on the panels next to the photo.  A paper clip, a tag threaded with Crafty Ribbons ribbon, and some chipboard stickers strung on some cotton. Then I finished off with a handful of sequins.  The sequins were the only thing not to come from my counterfeit kit. Thanks for stopping by.

just me

A layout made with sparkles and off cuts! And I love it. I lined up assorted offcuts from my Counterfeit Kit .  I added a sprinkling of swarovski crystals and a pink bow from Things That Shine . A date sticker and 3 pink flowers finish things off nicely. Look at the crystals, they make me smile! Linking up at the playground !

Polar Bear

I drew this for a friends birthday... What do you think?

Who Had What?

A layout using the pieced together background I made from my counterfeit kit... It is straight, it's just my photography that is wobbly!!  :) Glittery title?  Yes please! The whole premise of this layout was to record that my Dad ordered a chocolate milkshake.  I found it hilarious... not sure why, but hey! Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Smiles

It's been a while since I smiled with Annie and the Gang.  I've missed you, and I've missed being smiley.  This week this video made me smile... How adorable?! Linking up to Annie's Friday Smiles

This fortnights challenge at Crafty Ribbon Challenges is to use tags.  I've made an art journal page based on cycling... I've used pre-made printed bicycle tags and cut some lined kraft card to make my own tag.  I've added ribbon to all of them of course!! I've used natural/white swiss dot , black sheer ribbon and bicycles in latte. To add my journalling I cut strips of black card with a kraft core and ran them through my dymo.  The lyrics are from Queen's Bicycle Race.

Love You To The Stars And Back

This is another take on challenge three for this months counterfeit kit challenge .  I said in another post I picked two magazine cuttings out of my file and hoped to get them both scrapped.  Now, I had no intention of putting them online when I cut them out of the magazine so I have no reference to the artist or the publication.  If you know please tell me so I can credit them. I switched up the heart to a star, left out the stamping, and had a whole lot of fun! Stitching... and buttons... and buttons and stitching!! I am loving the colour palette from the kit.  If you leave the pink out, as I have here, you get a palette suitable for masculine layouts.  If you add in the pink with the blues and greens you get a completely different feel.

Hello Deskers!  Hello Desk Day! Here is my desk as I left it yesterday when I heard the word dinner... There is, for me, quite a lot of white desktop on show!!  Truth is, it's not really white - it is covered in tiny splashes and dots and smudges in a rainbow of colours of inks and paints because I am genetically unable to art tidily :) Thanks for stopping by - see you at your desk soon

Barney

Another layout with my Counterfeit Kit .  I don't think I am going to be finished by the end of the month, sigh. This is my bestest-ever bunny Barney.  He lived to be an old man and this was the last photo I took of him.  He was free range and thought he was a human.  He is just hanging out upstairs with me.  I used to love the sound of bunny footsteps hopping  up the stairs and along the corridor. I find a lot of project life type cards have words on them that I would never use.  I'm just not in to gooey sentimental words but I adored the border and colours of this one that holds my hidden journalling.  I cut a width of washi in half and layered it over the words and added a tab sticker.  (I think I'm doing really well on mission use up the entire sticker sheet.) I'm doing less well with the brads, but I forced three on to this page.  I have no idea why I bought them! I cut one of my strips of card in to a pennant shape, then got carried away and c

J - a layout

I like to reassess my counterfeit kit as I work... what is left?  what needs extra work to use?  what haven't I touched yet? I pulled two piles, one untouched so far and one of bits and pieces of left over card stock and patterned paper. Four strips of card were stuck together to make a 12x12 sheet... And then there was this little lot... They became this layout - no cutting just layering what was there as it was. I added some washi to the background card.   I scruffed up the edges. I added thread and enamel dots. I was happy!

CKC ch#3

For challenge three at Counterfeit Kit Challenge I decided to pick 'use n idea you have saved previously'  I didn't know quite how to word it, but hopefully you'll understand me...  We always stash ideas away when we read magazines, blog hop, pin on pinterest, in our ideas notebooks etc.  How often do we come back to those ideas and lists?  I rarely do, maybe it is just me. I pulled two layouts out of a folder of magazine clippings.  I keep clippings of layouts for me, but also for the little ones when I scrap with them.  They seem to find it much easier to have something pictorial to work from.  I stick them all on A4 paper and put the in a ring binder, kind of like an inspiration folder.  Now, I had no intention of putting them online when I cut them out so I have no reference to the artist or the publication.  If you know please tell me so I can credit them. I worked on the bottom one first - I hope to come back to the second one before the end of the month.

White Pond Mini Album

*warning - post loaded with scrummy photos!* To say I have been slow this month would be totally fair.  Here is only my second project made with my counterfeit kit for October... I'd like to think it was worth the wait though... It is a mini album about the farm we holiday on. It's packed with the yummy colours from the kit, plenty of ribbon and lace... and a sprinkling of washi and buttons. I used my sewing machine quite a lot. And eeked out my alphas to say exactly what I wanted to say.  (Thank goodness for zeros!) These alphas are not very sticky so sewing through them is kind of necessary! Flower buttons from my pink button box - I'd forgotten I had these mixed in with all the other pale pink buttons. I love adding little extra 'pages' of different sizes. Trying really hard to use up all of the stickers I added to my kit this month... I reinforced the holes for the binding rings with bits of washi.  It&
