Pretty My Page | Munch

I saw this Corn On The Cob file by Paige Evans and knew I had the perfect photo to go with it.  You can purchase the file pre-cut on black, white or cream card here . I coloured my cob with a mix of Shimmerz paints in yellows and greens.  My top tip for colouring cut files is if it starts to look weak and flimsy don’t try to pick it up.  Leave it flat and let it dry naturally and the integrity of the card will firm up again.  If you try and move the card whilst it is sodden with paint the chances are it will tear or rip. I recently went through all of my white cardstock scraps and patch worked together some 12x12 sheets.  I use about 10 different shades and textures of white card so I made sure to mix up the scraps and I have 6 sheets of eclectic card with a tonne of interest and texture which make perfect backgrounds for my simple and minimal scrap style. I used one of the seams on the background as a guide to add my title... I call it a title – I’ve added MUN

Stick It Down | Twofer!

I was inspired by the November sketch from Stick It Down to create two layouts.  The first layout is what I had in my head when I was drawing up the sketch. Kind of luxurious, lots of texture and volume, scrapping until your heart is content with no thought as to how it will lie in an album! I even tried some fancy writing.  I'm totally inspired by Minortismay but have a  l o n g  way to go before I'm anywhere near her level! Most of the sequins are from SpiegelMom Scraps.  The second layout is a little, um, quirky?! I turned the swag in to seaweed!  (Because who wouldn't?!) I hid some sea creatures from StickerKitten amongst the weeds.  It may be a tad bonkers but I love it! Please do link up over at Stick It Down if you are inspired by this sketch. Thanks for stopping by!

Lottie Loves Paper | Home For The Holidays

I've been scrapping with Pinkfresh Studio's Home for the Holidays as part of my DT assignments for Lottie Loves Paper.  The collection is fun and bright with the addition of a bright mustard yellow along with the usual Christmas colours. The first layout has a mixed media feel with inks and sewing. And you can never have too many birds on a layout! I don't know why I don't use the fancy stitches more often... And aaaah, look at the cute little chick.  Doesn't look at all like the monster who bit my ear so hard recently I thought I'd had another piercing!! Another bird.  I told you, never too many! No birds on this second layout although I did continue with the sewing theme. All of the squares came from half a sheet of patterned paper.  They looked like tiles so I tiled them across the page and grouted them with sewing! Everything else was kept fairly simple as the background packs a punch. And the third layout feat

Pretty My Page | Wonky Fair Isle

Today I am using the Wonky Fair Isle cut file.  This is the third of three new cut files designed by me available at Pretty My Page as either pre-cuts or as a download. You can download the cut file here or purchase it pre-cut on white, cream or black card here . I have used Pinkfresh Studio’s Home For The Holidays collection for this layout.  (Stock up here!)   Rather than backing the main shapes (the trees and the stars) I opted to back the area around them.  I did back the reindeer though.  After much searching I found some cork to back them.  I’m short on brown papers that have a warm tone, my kraft was too grey-ish.  The cork adds an extra texture too. I created a little cluster and title using various pieces of ephemera, stickers and a word cut from a patterned paper, piecing together a title of “Christmas sweater magic”.   I embellished with some pale blue enamel dots and shiny gold sequins. Pretty My Page | Wonky Halloween

Hello again, Laura here with the second layout using one of my new designs available from Pretty My Page .  Today I’m sharing a layout using Wonky Halloween. I was thinking about Lisa-Jane aka Mrs Pretty My Page while designing this file.  I don’t really do Halloween but I know LJ does.    I’ve used a selection of scraps from my stash to back the file; orange honeycomb paper for the pumpkins, charcoal metallic paper for the cauldrons, kraft for the broomsticks and white tissue paper for the ghosts.  The green paper is a mixed media experiment using brusho which I thought looked a bit magic potion-y and made the perfect filling for the cauldrons. I cut the file on black card and popped it up on foam adhesive on a slate grey cardstock background.  Here’s the video: You can download the cut file here or purchase it pre-cut on white, cream or black card here . Again, I’ll be back tomorrow using the last of the new Wonky cut file range, Wonky F

Pretty My Page | Wonky Autumn

I’m very excited to be sharing a layout made with one of my new cut file designs that Pretty My Page are now selling.  I love to doodle, draw and design cut files but I’ve never felt I had something unique enough to sell.  Whilst playing I came up with my wonky lines format and loved it so much I thought I might be on to something.  So far there are three designs – Wonky Autumn, Wonky Halloween and Wonky Fair Isle.  Today I’m sharing Wonky Autumn... I’ve stash dived for all of the backing papers.  I think the only current papers are Jen Hadfield’s This Is Family Fall Time which backs the tree section and Jillibean Soup’s Garden Harvest Bite Size Bits paper which backs the acorn section.  I’m finding these designs are a great way to use up odds, ends and scraps when it comes to backing them. I chose to fussy cut the photo so it didn’t cover up two squirrels – there’s a sentence I never thought I’d type!  The title is Autumn Explorer which perfectly fits the photo and
