Stamping and Scrapping

I've been stamping and scrapping up a storm at Beads Buttons and Birds HQ! I've recently got my hands on some more clear stmap sets from Skull and Cross Buns.  I love that new-stamp-set-full-of-inspiration feeling! The patterned paper is from Cooca Vanilla. This next layout is made with stamped labels.  These may be my new favourite thing! I've also used a selection of Skull and Cross Buns stencils in the background. Enamel dots and Distress Oxides from Pretty My Page. Thanks for looking!

Stretch That Cut File!

Last month I shared a layout made with the Pansy cut file from Pretty My Page .  I had one extra pansy cut left over which I made in to a card... I added some Shimmerz spray to the background, cut some wonky shapes to fill in the pansy and leaf apertures and stamped a greeting. I nestled the pansy cluster on some tangled thread and embellished with sequins. But I STILL was not done with that cut file.  As I removed the cuts from my sticky mat I noticed that the negatives left behind were just as pretty as the positives.  I used a piece of transfer tape to save the negatives to use on the background of another layout. I started off my background with texture paste and the blossom stencil .  (Psst, the stencil is currently in the sale!)  I added water colour and more stencilling in layers until I liked what I had.  I then added glue to the reverse of each piece on my transfer tape and applied them to the layout.  Of course this wou...

3 2 1 blast off

Here are the close ups of the rocket layout featured in my latest YouTube video... All the cut files are from COAPA. I love how it has turned out.  Black on black is not the easiest to photograph to it's full beauty. I also love the use of the same file in differing sizes with one being popped up on dimensional adhesive.  I want to play around with this concept some more. And here's the video if you haven't caught it already!

Sweetest

Here is my first layout using StickerKitten's new Sweet Pastels range. You can watch the layout come together here: I've done lots of layering with these gorgeous papers. There is some white texture paste in the background for added interest and some sparkly sequins added around the page too. There are two stamp sets in the collection and I've heat embossed a sentiment stamp to serve as my title.  Aren't those wooden sweets adorable? Here, have a twofer! In the other stamp set that matches these papers there is the cutest little cottage and accessories. This was an experiment masking and stamping in different coloured inks and then watercolouring the open spaces with those same coloured inks.  I liked the outcome so much that it was upgraded from experiment to success and made it on to the front of a card. Thanks for stopping by!

Auntie Laura Doesn't

Bobby knows all the names of all of the Thomas engines.  Auntie Laura put in a lot of effort to learn some and well, failed.  In my defence there are SO many! You can watch the process of the layout coming together here: By the way, since these photos were taken I have attempted to learn dinosaur names and failed.  And attempted to learn the racing cars names and failed.  I knew there would come a point when Bob would outsmart me, I know he's a bright kid, I just didn't expect it to happen quite so soon!! Train cut file available as a pre-cut from Pretty My Page .

PMP

Here are a couple of my Pretty My Page layouts for this month. This first one uses the Pansy cut file cut on ombre paper from Hobbycraft. There is stencilling in the background done with Distress Oxides , texture paste and a Skull and Cross Buns stencil. The layout is completed with some pretty flair and sequins. This next layout features a Paige Evans folding cut file. I've used my distress oxides and blending tools for this one too. I've run the folded hearts through the sewing machine to secure them open. Added splatters, sequins, flair, stickers, thread tangles - all of the good stuff! I had almost as much fun as Henley when she was eating her peas!!

StickerKitten on HOCHANDA IV

Here are the last batch of samples made for the HOCHANDA shows StickerKitten did... Lots of fun bunting...  and another waterfall movement, this time on a birthday card rather than used as a mini album. As you can probably tell by the quantity of posts and samples I love working with these collections!  That's all for now but there will be new releases coming soon...
