Pillow Pouches

I don't do Halloween, it has never appealed to me, not even as a child.  However the two little ones next door do, and their Mum asks if they can knock... so I've done these up for them this year. Inside are a few sweets and lollies. Thanks for stopping by :)

One Special Lady

Today is all about one Lady... Lovely Mandy has stepped down from CR duties for health reasons.  We all miss her and Maja came up with the idea that we would all make Mandy something and send them to her, to arrive at the same time, and hopefully bring some smiles. I decided on some altered playing cards.  I glued them to a sheet of card, gessoed and stenciled some pearl meduim over them... I had intentions of doing step by step photos but I got consumed in art and forgot!  In between photos I added rubber stamping, ink, paint and sprays.  Here they are drying about half way through the process. I then searched for inspirational quotes and words - nothing heavy (hopefully!) but things that we need to hear about being kind to ourselves - and printed them out.  I added some white seam binding and coloured lace for some texture.  A bit of doodling with a black pen and I was done.  Here are a few with a close up...

Alpha Challenge - L is for Luciferin

A very tired entry for The Craft Barns Alpha Challenge ... I smudged gesso over the definition... doh! Fascinated by bioluminescence. We had to include a window, so I painted a scene looking out of the window in to the woods Thems fireflies dontcha know! :)

It's Thursday Again!

And we all know Thursdays mean Crafty Ribbons challenge day .  This week I chose the theme - Anything But A Card. I'm picking the top 3 this week - I'm so looking forward to seeing your creations :) My contribution is an origami bag... You can find the link for the instructions here . for Christmas sweeties.  I decorated the tag and tied the top of the bag with Christmas cupcake ribbon.   I reckon I need another 14 bags before December is out, so I'd better get folding! Thanks for dropping by :)

Friday Smiles

A Friday Smile :)

WOYWT/W 228

I woke up on Tuesday afternoon utterly confused!  My ME has been a right whatnot and sleeping has been taking up most of my hours.  I woke up at 5pm yesterday and switched on the laptop.  Top of my feed was the WOYWW link up post.  For a moment, in my sleepiness, I thought I had slept right through!  My brain knew I hadn't, but I still panicked a little! My desk has looked the same since Friday... I was mid flow when the ME stopped me, but it is ready to be picked up and continued as soon as I am able :)

Soldier On Girl!

Here is a quick card I made: Just a strip of ribbon on a piece of card and a little bit of stamping with my often neglected alphabet stamps... I had two soldiers left over so I stapled them to then back of the envelope :) Hopefully it brings a smile when it arrives. Entering in to Creative Craft Challenges 2 Allsorts Challenge

Friday Smiles

My sweet Budge left me a present on my keyboard.  Luckily I saw it in time.  And yes... it is the shiFt key! She is lovely really - here she is looking after me as I sleep off my physio, just waiting for me to wake up and play! Linking up to Annie's Friday Smiles :)

Alpha Challenge - J is for Jack-snipe

I'm a bit late linking up at the Craft Barn's Alpha Challenge .  I finished my page last week but have only just got round to loading the photos... Just me and my 2B :) Thanks for stopping by

It's A Daisy Monster!

Ah, my Daisy Bun.  She is a character.  She is the star of this layout... ...which also features paper-clips, diamantés and some of my Mums crochet. I'd like to share this at: Thanks for stopping by :)

A Card from Offcuts

After my Monkey World Mini Album I had a fair few scraps of coordinating paper left over.  Some got put back in my scrap paper wallets ordered by colour and some made it on to this card... I've lost the love of making cards, I'd much rather be scrapping or making other 'off the page' creations, but I'm pleased with this card.   It's literally strips of offcuts scattered on a card blank with a rub on added.  Simple. Love it. Linking to Pixies Snippets Playground . Thanks for stopping by!

The biggest ever...

...sandwich, that is.  Huge! There is the title and here is the story... A close up of some embellishing... and the big reveal...   Good times :) Also need to work with pale yellow and purple more often - I love this combination :) Thanks for stopping by

Ooh, pretty!

It's Anything Goes WITH RIBBON over at Crafty Ribbons this week. I have made a frame-y-notice-board-y-thing!   It started off as a clock.  I took it apart, sanded down the frame, white washed it, made it shabby. Then I added flowers and ribbon leaves to the outer frame. I strung some ribbon across the width of the frame  and added little pegs and note paper. I used sheer dots in 2 shades and saddlestitch from Crafty Ribbons. Really pleased with how it turned out.  Next up: to make something with the clock workings :) Sharing at: A Little Bit Crafty Creative Craft Challenges2 Crafting Cafe Altered Eclectics Come over and join in :)

Georgie Bun

Here is a layout of my lovely bun George.  Poor boy, we were told he was a girl so we originally called him Martha.  Anyhoo, turned out he was a boy, was renamed and was very confused for the rest of his life!! I had a few bits saved that I wanted to include; a card from the vets, the name tag from his hutch and a clothes label that says George.  I was also determined to include a rabbit paper clip. Now that my supplies are reorganised I'm trying to use things that were forgotten.  I pulled out some metal leaf, unsure how to use it properly I made it up as I went along :) I used my tombow multi in random swirls and squiggles on the background and waited for it to go tacky.  Them I plonked the leaf on top and tickled it with a soft brush.  I can't tell you how pleased I am with how it turned out and will definitely use some more soon.
