Daisy

Ah, desk layouts... you are so fun!  I have been procrastinating tidying my desk for a few weeks.  I took it one step further by deciding to make a layout with items from my desktop only.  I shove stuff on my desk all the time - packaging, mail shots with nice colours, ephemera/sweets wrappers, extra cameo cuts etc. I have a few bits of lace near my craft mat all the time - today it was some cotton Morlaix and some viscose Volcan in mint.  I also pulled a few offcuts of sheer Swiss dots ribbon . I added some flicks of ink to the background and I'm happy with how it has turned out! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday

Hi there, I have a birthday card made with supplies from Pretty Little Studio and SpiegelMom Scraps to share with you... I am totally in love with Marie-Pierre Capistran 's collection from Pretty Little Studio and also added a few pieces from their Woodland collection .  I also used a piece of 3mm grosgrain ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. The sequins are from three different packs - Spring Blooms , Moonshine Delight , and Magic Day in the Park .  You can also find the doilies at SpiegelMoms, and they take colour really well.  The blue doily is sprayed with some inks.  Leave them to dry before touching them as them become very delicate when saturated. Thanks for stopping by!

Kites x2

You know when you think you've had a really good idea, but then don't like the out come as much as the version in your head?!  Yep, that is this layout... I love the kite cut files from The Cut Shoppe and really wanted to incorporate a crochet kite that My Pet Crocheter made. I used my like for ever kit and added in some Shimmerz Dazzlerz and ribbon from Crafty Ribbon.  The tiny square alphas are from Cocoa Vanilla Studios. You can watch the process here... Thanks for stopping by!

Bee Happy

Another Thursday means another challenge at Crafty Ribbons Challenges !  This week the wonderful La Vikinga has picked the theme Easels - she meant easel cards but I went more literal... I paired the wonderful Bee ribbon from the Gnomes collection with some 3mm in yellow gold , along with a mini wooden easel. I gave the easel a coat of gesso and then painted bee stripes on with India ink. And made a cheery little card to sit on the easel with a cheeky little reminder to be happy! I hope you'll join us over at the challenge blog !

A Lesson...

A Lesson in Kisses and Emoji.  Possibly my favourite title! So this layout mainly uses ' Here Comes The Sun ' which is shaping up to be one of my favourite collections of all time - I wish I had bought more!  I wish there were UK stockists!  I have those Cocoa Vanilla Studio feelings all over again :D I used the criteria from Scrap Our Stash picking a stick pin (green heart) twine and a uniball pen.  I looked through my pens... I have about six thousand or so it seemed when I was looking through them! and discovered that Posca paint pens are by Uniball, although I went with my jetstream in the end. I've not made anything rainbow themed for awhile so it only seemed right to arrange these supplies by Roy G Biv order - or IVROYGB in fact! The part of the sketch that captivated me most was the file tabs. Flamin' 'mingos!  When is this trend going to come to an end?  What random animal will take over..? The hidden tag has a little jo

sweet & precious

I have never had scrapbook kits from outside the UK but when I saw that Suse Fish had designed some papers for Felicity Jane I caved and ordered a one off.  I am still loyal to my beloved like for ever!  I love that the UK has such a great club with a good bunch of subscribers with a friendly atmosphere. I've scrapped pictures of a clay owl trinket pot that my cousin made at pre-school more than a decade ago.  I skipped through the kit and picked out things that weren't (and you'll be so surprised by this!) pink. And I love this colour palette so much!  I added in some sequins, thread, enamel dots and stickers from my stash in matching colours. I'll write a heart felt spiel on a piece of paper and paper clip it behind rather than disturb the design of the page. I felt the layout need some delicacy so I added a doily from SpiegelMom Scraps . Here is the video... special cameo from Herbie Budgie who decided to check out what I was up to! Th

Pretty Please

As I find things that I don't want too throw away, but aren't good for layouts, I stick them in my art journal.  Things like packaging, used washi tape, 'off' rub ons, stickers etc. As I make anything with paste, paint or ink I add the left overs on top of those layers in my art journal. Then when I feel the need to get something out I pull out my journal and find a started page that matches how I am feeling. I had a few scraps on my desk as always.  One of them was the branding strip from Pretty Little Studio's collaboration with Pretty Please.  Another was a stamped cherry from Suse Fish's Felicity Jane kit.  Well, pretty please with a cherry on top suits how I am feeling right now! Lots of kinda confused layers... And big splotchy ink blotches, with a few sequins sprinkled on for good measure. Thanks for stopping by

Silly Kisses

Squeezing in another post today...  Here is Silly Kisses... The cut file was a challenge from my lovely friend Kerry .  All supplies from like for ever's Carefree kit with the addition of Amy Sprinkle's sequns from SpiegelMom Scraps !

Deckle Edged?

I was looking through my card blanks for a small card and came across this one.  Opinions on the deckle edging please?  I'm not sure... The watercolour splatters are my Derwent pencils and the rest of the supplies are from Pretty Little Studio. Thanks for dropping by!

I {heart} ICE CREAM

Well, I could have done with one of these yesterday!  It was a scorcher! Made using my like for ever kit Carefree and some banner pieces from a honeycomb tissue paper bunting kit. Rather fond of the layout... but then I am rather fond of the subject matter too! Stay cool folks!

ATC's

Hello!  I'm here today to share some recent ATC’s… They are part of a deck of cards for Jessica Brogan's swap .  ATC’s – or artists trading cards – are usually small pieces of art (64mm x 89mm) swapped between artists.  Rather than working on a small scale to begin with I work on a larger sheet to make my mixed media backgrounds.  For me this is just playing with watercolours or Shimmerz, acrylics, modelling pastes etc until something starts to form.  Then when I get an idea, I follow it! This batch of cards use quite a few SpiegelMom Scraps products.  In the background I have used some Shimmerz colourings and dazzlerz .  My feature embellishment on some of the cards are the gorgeous Birds of a Feather Felties is Aqua/Blues and Green/Rust.  And of course I cannot make anything without using sequins – I’ve used some from green machine and some from lucky charm . Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Friday Smiles

Apologies for last week - I hadn't meant to be quiet so cryptic!  I was very tired and was sure I had written he was a budgie!! Here he is - I am still to get a very crisp photo... he's a mover!  He is settling in well. Linking up at Friday Smiles !

Christmas In July

Hello!  It is challenge day over at Crafty Ribbons Challenges .  The theme is one that will probably make a few of you shiver - Christmas!  But it never too early to start making for Christmas, especially if you are a card maker! I have made a few tree decorations.  These are two penguin buttons sewn back to back, with a piece of bling edge 3mm in between.  Cute!  These will be adorning my tree this year... but not for a while yet! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello FUN

This is a layout for like for ever .  Every other Sunday Nicola runs a Sunday Sketch challenge and this week I am the guest.  The sketch was from Page Maps... And this is my take... I've used papers from July's like for ever kit and teamed them with ribbon and buttons from Crafty Ribbons and embellishments from SpiegelMom Scraps . I've stayed quite true to the sketch too.  I mirrored it as the photos made more sense in this order, but other than that it is a fairly straight lift. I adore this colour palette - I am enjoying blue and turquoises with pops of yellow at the moment. And how could I not adore these little dangles?!  They are sequins, buttons and hearts - can't really get more 'me', can you? Process video... Thanks for stopping by - Happy Sunday!
