Advent Calendar and GIVEAWAY!

As promised I am back with my second handcrafted Advent Calendar of the season.  You can see the first one, made for Crafty Ribbons, here . This one uses supplies from SpiegelMom Scraps, Crafty Ribbons, older supplies from my stash and a handy cardboard box! Each of the 24 glassine bags have been carefully numbered and decorated and more importantly filled with a little craft treat! They've then been mixed up and displayed in a converted box just waiting for December's arrival. There is a lovely mix of goodies from some of my favourite shops; like for ever, SpiegelMom Scraps, Shimmerz, Chloe Suzanne Designs, Crafty Ribbons, Derwent... all perfect for a crafter or scrapbooker. And I am giving it away to one of my Instagram followers!   If you'd like to be in the draw please comment on the photo on Instagram ( here ) and follow me.  You can spread the love and tag your friends too - each tag will count as another entry.  I'm also aware that some ...

Christmas Card Hanger

It's beginning to look a little like Christmas... and you might start receiving cards in the post.  I like to peg mine to my ribbon card holder. To make this I have used hanging baubles from Crafty Ribbons feature range Christmas Charm .  I've added a few bells , some 3mm grosgrain and some mini pegs. It will be hung on my door ready for cards, and every time someone walks past quickly and creates a little breeze, or brushes their arm against it is they walk past, I'll hear a little jingle - it'll make me smile every time!!

Star Wreath

Guest Designer post number 2 went live at like for ever yesterday, and I'm sharing it here today... The scrapping fashion is to make a December Daily style album, making a page each day in December capturing your festive celebrations.  I don't do enough to warrant a whole album so I will use this page to mark the start of my Christmas 2015 layouts in my general album. I've used the Shimelle, Pink Paislee and one of the Cocoa Vanilla papers from the Wish List kit and cut a whole bunch of stars.  You can grab the cut files here . I've added a few stars and a bow - add ons from Cocoa Vanilla.  And some jingle bells from Crafty Ribbons.  Bells may be appearing on most of my projects at the moment!! Created as much texture and dimension as possible! So much fun! I am loving this kit, and the opportunity to guest design.  You can see my GD posts here ! Thanks for stopping by!

Reindeer Tag for Crafty Ribbons

It is challenge tome at Crafty Ribbons Challenges .  We are continuing with our twelve weeks of Christmas and this weeks challenge is to use a reindeer as well as ribbon on your project. I whipped up a tag to be pegged to the top of a gift bag.  I don't like to seal them with tape as it makes it harder to re use the bags, but I also don't like peeping before the big day!! The mdf reindeer is from That Craft Place, the label is from Evalicious, and ribbon and bells from Crafty Ribbons. I've used Christmas charm ribbon and some 3mm grosgrain .  Did you know Crafty Ribbons sells bells too?  You'll find them here .  Or pop along to the SECC craft show between today and Sunday and visit the stall to stock up! Not strictly related but with products from the same companies, here is a super clean simple Christmas card! Thanks for stopping by!

Gift Wrapping

I'm going to let you have another peek at some of my wrapping... Envelopes needn't be boring... Wool works as well as ribbon (although ribbon is still my first love!) Little pegs can close gift bags and hold tags and pretty things! All bells are good!! As are little card bags and home made tags. I think I like wrapping more than unwrapping!!  :)

Wrapping it up...

Can I share a whole bunch of wrapping ideas with you?  These are what I gave last year... Bundle two presents to the same person together with cord and add a candy cane to the knot. Pair simple gold tissue with ribbon with festive designs on them - I went with owls for my Mum. For a bottle tie a couple of ribbons around the neck of the bottle adding bells to the end of the ribbon for more festive fun! For a jar again I added bells but on a wide metallic ribbon. Here I matched the pattern on the paper to the motif on the ribbon .  This is especially apt as the ribbon says 'Have a yummy Christmas' and the present is chocolate. There is of course, the standard ribbon round and a bow - it never fails! Even a gift card in an envelope can be jazzed up with ribbon and a candy cane tucked in to the knot. Or how about going over board on tiny presents such as jewellery boxes.  Use a nice wide ribbon and tie a bow bigger than t...
