Here is my contribution for today...
I know, there is no ribbon, it's not like me at all! But it is very cute and good fun to make...
I used a selection of buttons from the green button box and graded them from large to small. It took a while playing and fiddling to get the right sizes to give the best tree shape. I wanted something sparkly on top so I used a Swarovski crystal. I centered it on a piece of copper wire, twisted once, and then threaded on the buttons. For the buttons with four holes I threaded through opposite holes. Once I had all my buttons on I twisted the remaining wire tightly.
Now I needed to plant my tree to stop it from falling over. I used the plastic lid from a bottle of glue! I stuffed it with polystyrene and covered it with washi tape. Then I speared the wire through the tape and deep in to the polystyrene, right to the bottom of the pot, to give it stability.
I'd like to enter this in to Unique Crafters Challenge - Christmas (They also have a free digi if you are in to digis!)
I'd love to see your versions of this... leave me a link if you have a go and I'll pop round to have a look!
And don't forget to leave a comment here for my giveaway!
