WOYWW

Hello Desky peeps!  I missed you all last week!

On my desk today...

I'm working on  my Craft Barn Alpha Challenge page.  You may also spot a list - you know me and my lists! - with all the projects I want to complete.  Can you send some time and energy over my way please?!  Note that 'tidy desk' is rather hopefully written on the list too...  Haha!  :)

Seriously I'd be dangerous if I had a brain...  I realised after I uploaded the picture that a: I left my don't-smudge-the-drawing-guard-paper over half the work and b: my giveaway for the Crafty Ribbons Easter Blog Hop is on show (it shouldn't be - avert your eyes!! - and come back tomorrow to have a chance at winning!)

Once again thanks to Julia for hosting and I'll try and return all your visits...
Have a lovely Easter weekend
:)

  2. I'm glad I am not the only one who forgets to 'look' when they aer staging their photos!! Sometimes my shots don't show anything at all except product because the project had got buried!! Still, it makes those tidy desk people feel virtuous. I love lists too, but they are really just a way of cementing my thoughts I rarely work through them (which can be a problem when I miss off the important things!). But I'll never change now. 4. A nice busy desk Laura, that’s what I like to see. That Peacock in your art journal looks amazing.
Loving your list too. I used to do them but gave up a long time ago because I never followed them and the lists just got longer and longer.
    Happy Crafting!

  5. Beautiful peacock
It's funny how when you take a photo of your desk, that's when you se things properly. I often do that and think "why didn't I move that!"

  6. Hi Laura, I love your beautiful Peacock. I am guessing you drew it from your photos on your desk, you are so talented I wish I could draw like that. I usually have so many things going on at once I need lists or I would forget everything. There is something very satisfying about ticking things off when you have done them as well.Have a great day Mo x

  17. Hi Laura, your peacock is beautiful - I would give my eye teeth to be able to draw like that! I have to ask - is that a bottle of shampoo I see before me - and if so is there a cunning technique involved or did you get sidetracked when putting the shopping away? :0) Thanks for your visit MMx #141

  18. Hi Laura, thanks for paying me a visit today. Love your drawing of the Peacocock,he is beautiful, the way you've captured the ripple of colours in the feathers on the top of his head is brilliant.I do so admire people who can draw. When I took the pics of my tag I had left the bead charm hung at the back lol

  21. I always make lists then lose them under a pile of "stuff". Must make a list starting with "Do NOT lose this list!" The peacock drawing is fantastic..wish I could draw but it's a skill which has eluded me!

Hello, Happy Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday !  As promised a picture of last Wednesdays 'work' finished off.  Post and more photos here . This week I'm showing off the beaded ATC I made... Tricky to photograph so your getting one with flash and one without... It was all parcelled up and sent off to Queen of Desks Julia .  Here is a basic of how it was made... (lots of waffle about wefts and warps!) I use a flexible beading needle.  It is mainly 'eye' so it is very easy to thread. And delica beads which are more regular and accurate than the better known seed bead.  They are slightly more rectangular than round so they line up better. Thread your needle with the weft thread.  (The cross ways thread that weaves back and forth.)  Pick up the beads... Pass the needlefull of beads underneath the warp (tight length ways) threads on the loom... ...and push each bead up in the corresponding g

Hoppity!

Hoppity hoppity!!  :) Hopeful you have arrived here from Fleur 's blog as part of the Crafty Ribbons Easter Hop .  If not and you've found yourself here wondering what on earth I'm on about (and let’s face it J you wouldn’t be the first!!) check out the Inspirations site for all the juicy details! My project for the hop is         Easter bunting!  I cut three templates first - a triangle pennant, a bird and a heart.        Then I cut the pennant shapes from fibre ribbon, threaded them on to some 3mm satin and evenly spaced them.  I embellished each flag with some beads...       I backed the birds and heart on some thin white card and glued them to the centre of the pennants.   My supplies list: yellow fibre , pink fibre , lime fibre , 3mm satin , button box , white card, glue, beads, needle and thread.   At each stop on the hop there'll be a word to collect and a candy draw. I've got these

WOYWW & Card Deck Swap

First up is my desk ... Hmm.  Perhaps the less said the better!  I really should have a sort out but I fancy desking instead! Next I want to share my card deck swaps (deskers don't have to stay for this bit but I reckon you'd enjoy joining in with us, which is why I'm including it in this post) You can read about the swap here on Jessica's blog and sign up here .  Basically, we take a deck of cards, add paint and/or paper, then add a positive sentiment to each card.  Post them to Jessica who shuffles them and sends back 52 different cards from different artists (yes, you are an artist!) from all over the world. These few are ones I have picked out to display first.  I'll swap them round after a few weeks.  Do you like my domino pegs?  :) Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll at least consider joining us for the card swap - it's like a super sized ATC swap, and all WOYWW er's know they are fun! See you at your desk x
