Woohoo!! Let's start December with lots of happiness and smiles.
It is the first day of Ali's Advent Event, you can join us every day in the countdown to Christmas. We have loads of projects to share with you.
The first project I am sharing is the advent calendar I started in October...
It has landed in Ireland and my friend was thrilled. Makes all the needles in fingers worth it.
All the fabric was recycled from a canvas wardrobe that my brother had years ago.
I added in some Christmas Owls ribbon and a few buttons.
I edged a few rows of pockets with lace in matching colours.
The numbers are laser cut wood that I got from the Craft Barn a few years back. It has taken me that long to get around to using them! I stamped them with a polka dot stamp and heat embossed them gold. It wasn't a clean stamp, or the numbers were too static, so some of them numbers are totally covered and some have the white peeking through. It gives them brilliant texture.
And Mum found the sweets in cute Christmas packaging.
So pleased with how it's turned out. I free-styled it, doodled it on a piece of scrap, and just went with the flow.
It's not perfectly made but it is the perfect present for my friend. Hopefully they will enjoy it for years to come.

Happy Advent folks!!
Laura. I think is a wicked Advent, the best I have seen. And to think it was recycled is even better. Thank you for sharing it with us. Ali x
ReplyDeleteFab Advent Calendar.
ReplyDeleteWOW - this is FANTASTIC xxx
ReplyDeleteLove your project! I don't know what purpose these Advent Calendars serve, but I have seen so many fabulous creations. Yours is very different. I like the design, because it can probably be used for other things when Advent is over. Beautifully done. Clever to alternate the trim on the pockets and to have that one row of glittered red. Great job. Thanks for playing along with us here at 613 Avenue Create.
