End of month scramble!!

Well it's nearly the last day of the month and therefore the last day of my guest designer stint at Counterfeit Kit Challenge.  I have two layouts to share today and a little assessment of what is left.  There are ingredients for a further 3 layouts but I'm not sure I'll get them done on time.

'oh hi bike'

See these papers?  They are why I'm scrambling at the end of the month.  I put them in my kit, I knew which photos I was going to use with them but I could not bring myself to cut them!  Daft I know, but I love them!

Eventually I made the first cut - guess what?  Nothing happened.  The world did not coming crashing down.  Oxygen did not run out.

'And then she could ride a bike'

I just love this layout!  It's one of my favourites.  Not really sure what to write about it, just that I love it!  (Boy! I know how to blog!!)

This is a charm that I bought years ago.  I knew I'd use it one day :D

And here is what is left from my kit:

There are a couple of half done layouts which I probably won't share.  Two sheets of brown which will go back in to my stash - not playing by the rules, I know, but I'm just not going to use them.  I don't have photos to match them, nothing looks right.  A pile of little bits - got a plan for them.  The wood stars - MUST use them.  The pink and orange twine - again MUST use!   With the addition of some white 12x12 I reckon I can get two or three layouts out of this.

I used almost all of the alphabets that I planned to use up.  (I added other alphas with the assumption they wouldn't be finished this time around.)  With what was left I adapted the j's to make i's and can now spell 'whizz kid'.  I don't have a photo for this yet so I'll pop them in a bag and remember to take a photo of one of the little ones doing something whizzy!!

I like to lay it all out to see what is still unused.  It's given me a few ideas.  Must get on and see if I can get them to materialise before the end of the 31st May!!

Thanks for stopping by
:)

  4. Well done, Laura, using your supplies to such good effect. That paper certainly is unusual! I love the colour scheme of your layouts, and that charm is gorgeous - amazing how things "mature" and claim a use eventually, isn't it. Good work!

Thanks for your visit and your nice comment on my blog, and I'm glad you liike my pizza box project. It came about by accident really - I just thought it was a bit boring as present wrapping and one thing sort of led to another!! I shall definitely be doing some more in due course.

WOYWW 159

Hello, Happy Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday !  As promised a picture of last Wednesdays 'work' finished off.  Post and more photos here . This week I'm showing off the beaded ATC I made... Tricky to photograph so your getting one with flash and one without... It was all parcelled up and sent off to Queen of Desks Julia .  Here is a basic of how it was made... (lots of waffle about wefts and warps!) I use a flexible beading needle.  It is mainly 'eye' so it is very easy to thread. And delica beads which are more regular and accurate than the better known seed bead.  They are slightly more rectangular than round so they line up better. Thread your needle with the weft thread.  (The cross ways thread that weaves back and forth.)  Pick up the beads... Pass the needlefull of beads underneath the warp (tight length ways) threads on the loom... ...and push each bead up in the corresponding g

Hoppity!

Hoppity hoppity!!  :) Hopeful you have arrived here from Fleur 's blog as part of the Crafty Ribbons Easter Hop .  If not and you've found yourself here wondering what on earth I'm on about (and let’s face it J you wouldn’t be the first!!) check out the Inspirations site for all the juicy details! My project for the hop is         Easter bunting!  I cut three templates first - a triangle pennant, a bird and a heart.        Then I cut the pennant shapes from fibre ribbon, threaded them on to some 3mm satin and evenly spaced them.  I embellished each flag with some beads...       I backed the birds and heart on some thin white card and glued them to the centre of the pennants.   My supplies list: yellow fibre , pink fibre , lime fibre , 3mm satin , button box , white card, glue, beads, needle and thread.   At each stop on the hop there'll be a word to collect and a candy draw. I've got these

WOYWW & Card Deck Swap

First up is my desk ... Hmm.  Perhaps the less said the better!  I really should have a sort out but I fancy desking instead! Next I want to share my card deck swaps (deskers don't have to stay for this bit but I reckon you'd enjoy joining in with us, which is why I'm including it in this post) You can read about the swap here on Jessica's blog and sign up here .  Basically, we take a deck of cards, add paint and/or paper, then add a positive sentiment to each card.  Post them to Jessica who shuffles them and sends back 52 different cards from different artists (yes, you are an artist!) from all over the world. These few are ones I have picked out to display first.  I'll swap them round after a few weeks.  Do you like my domino pegs?  :) Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll at least consider joining us for the card swap - it's like a super sized ATC swap, and all WOYWW er's know they are fun! See you at your desk x
