WOYWW #147

Welcome to my desk!
You can actually see it this week instead of it being completely hidden under piles of stuff!

Not all that much going on...
- talc for making sticky things unsticky
- bottle of water to drink - never a glass - I find I either spill it ruining projects or put dirty paintbrushes in it!
- my gorgeous copper pot with my lovely paintbrushes
- letters cut from a greetings card I was sent - I'm sure they can be used in a scrapbook page title
- a couple of angels that need to be waterproofed to be put on my friends grave for Easter
- paper towels - never too far away! (I am rather messy!)
- a pile of chocolate from my brother

and these stamps I won in a bloghop a couple of weeks back.  Yummy!  Unfortunately the ink I used to test them was a plummy colour and stained them, (this is the before picture) but hey ho, at least I'll never lose them now!

Right I'm off to snoop around other peoples desks now...

  8. Yes, your copper pot is gorgeous and how lucky to win some stamps.

You asked about my masterboard - nothing complicated just an A4 sheet of card, stamped up with various stamps 9all directions) and inks, but of random text, sometimes a bit of embossing powder as well. When finished you can either scan it and print for backgrounds of just use the sheet to cut backgrounds for your cards. I have done them before ripping up pieces of different papers, script, picture, music etc, added a bit of paint and some gold embossing - looks a mess at first but you pick out the best bits for backgrounds.

  9. It's funny how we treasure some things that we use as storage...I'm the same way, I feel I would rather see it and use it than it to be sitting on a shelf, lovely copper pot! Congrats on the win! waving hi from my balcony in the hills of North Carolina :)

  12. Hi, Laura, thanks for visiting my blog. Yes, occasionally I do get distracted looking out my window, but I love the natural light. My work office doesn't have a window, so I find I crave daylight when I'm home! Plus, I can watch my munchkin playing, too and lift the window to call to her if I need to. lol Sweet of your brother to provide crafting chocolate. :) Happy Wednesday. ~ Laura

  18. Intrigued to hear how you use your talc to unstick stuff, I always have terrible trouble with stickiness and usually end up using nail varnish remover which can get very messy x

Hello, Happy Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday !  As promised a picture of last Wednesdays 'work' finished off.  Post and more photos here . This week I'm showing off the beaded ATC I made... Tricky to photograph so your getting one with flash and one without... It was all parcelled up and sent off to Queen of Desks Julia .  Here is a basic of how it was made... (lots of waffle about wefts and warps!) I use a flexible beading needle.  It is mainly 'eye' so it is very easy to thread. And delica beads which are more regular and accurate than the better known seed bead.  They are slightly more rectangular than round so they line up better. Thread your needle with the weft thread.  (The cross ways thread that weaves back and forth.)  Pick up the beads... Pass the needlefull of beads underneath the warp (tight length ways) threads on the loom... ...and push each bead u...

Hoppity!

Hoppity hoppity!!  :) Hopeful you have arrived here from Fleur 's blog as part of the Crafty Ribbons Easter Hop .  If not and you've found yourself here wondering what on earth I'm on about (and let’s face it J you wouldn’t be the first!!) check out the Inspirations site for all the juicy details! My project for the hop is         Easter bunting!  I cut three templates first - a triangle pennant, a bird and a heart.        Then I cut the pennant shapes from fibre ribbon, threaded them on to some 3mm satin and evenly spaced them.  I embellished each flag with some beads...       I backed the birds and heart on some thin white card and glued them to the centre of the pennants.   My supplies list: yellow fibre , pink fibre , lime fibre , 3mm satin , button box , white card, glue, beads, needle and thread.   ...

Feathered Friends

A few feathered smiles for today! I love this little chicks tatty tail.  I can imagine it was packed in the nest and the long tail feathers got in the way a bit!! And our handsome robin... Two smiles for your Friday - Linking up at Friday Smiles :)
