WOYWW 168

Morning WOYWWers!

Pop over here to Julia's to see loads more desks...

Yes, I know the panoramic photo doesn't line up properly but this was the fourth one and I kind of just thought it'll have to do!  I need a wide shot this week because I, and my mess, are very spread out!  I'm making up a mini album kit from Ronda.  Lots of fun so far, just being inky and creative, but following her instructions.  Creating without thinking!

The album is called 'i am' and there are ten pages so I thought I'd come up with a list of ten meaningful things that I am - easier said than done... give it a go..?  See?!  Tricky!!

You might be interested to see this painted paint brush now it is finished...

And I've also been painting this...

Hopefully a full post on this later today or tomorrow.

Thanks for popping by and sorry if I didn't return your visits last week.  I'm coming through a bit of depression at the moment and I haven't got the oomph I need to communicate properly.  I will try harder this week!  I promise!

  3. Ok that photo makes me think I had too much to drink. I have to try to use the panaramic photo feature on my camera too. I get the idea. You have an amazing desk.

I love the paint brush. I like when people personalize tools. Very cool.

I am a very bad girl today, I didn't post a link to my site because I didn't have much to show so no worries if you visit my site. But it isn't stopping me from snooping.

  6. The picture is so charming, I love seeing all of the cool details, like washi tape on a stick! The paintbrush is beautiful but that painting is breathtaking, I feel pulled in. Things can be tough, I hope you feel better. I am glad I got to visit on this WOYWW. Frances #127

  9. Happy WOYWW. I agree coming up with "the 10 things your are" list is tricky. I also have to say your nails and that Shades of PInk card in your previous post is fabulous. I now wish I had longer nails to try that marbling technique. I hope you have a very blessed week. LisaDV #124

  10. How clever to do a shot like that...even if it took 4 attempts. I'd still be there if it was me ;D
Have to agree the list of 10 things is a little tricky...I'll have to give it some more thought.
Sorry to hear you're not feeling 100% and hopefully you will very soon. Art and creating will certainly help and I'm so happy that you're sharing your work with us. We're all here for you :D
Thanks for popping over to my place earlier and my apologies for taking so long to reply.
    Have a wonderful weekend
    Happy WOYWW

    1. I don't think I'll send the paintbrush off... I think I like it too much! I might see if she still has any blanks to have a go 'properly'
      Thanks for stopping by!

  13. Love the "fish-eye" shot of your desk, Laura. Very arty. Your work is outstanding - I've commented on both the paintbrush and your amazing poppy. What talent.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, and for your prayers and good wishes for our family. Dad is now in hospital, and although it's the best place for hm to be at the moment, it was very sad yesterday, seeing him looking so small and frail in his bed, attached to a drip, and with slurred speech. Although he's small in stature, to me he's always been a giant of a man, and it's so awful seeing him diminished in this way, and so out of it. Mum is vulnerable and needing lots of care at the moment too, and what we would have done without my wonderful hubby I have no idea. He's off visiting her again this a.m. and I'm languishing in bed answering my backlog of blog posts lol!!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  14. The panoramic shot is great Laura, have I admired your tape collection before? I bet I have! love the paintbrush, what a fab idea, hope it makes you smile every time you look at it. sorry to read that you're suffering a bit, it's like wading through treacle some days isn't it. Don't go beating yourself up about visiting blogs or not, no-single WOYWWer would mind in the least.

Hello, Happy Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday !  As promised a picture of last Wednesdays 'work' finished off.  Post and more photos here . This week I'm showing off the beaded ATC I made... Tricky to photograph so your getting one with flash and one without... It was all parcelled up and sent off to Queen of Desks Julia .  Here is a basic of how it was made... (lots of waffle about wefts and warps!) I use a flexible beading needle.  It is mainly 'eye' so it is very easy to thread. And delica beads which are more regular and accurate than the better known seed bead.  They are slightly more rectangular than round so they line up better. Thread your needle with the weft thread.  (The cross ways thread that weaves back and forth.)  Pick up the beads... Pass the needlefull of beads underneath the warp (tight length ways) threads on the loom... ...and push each bead u...

Hoppity!

Hoppity hoppity!!  :) Hopeful you have arrived here from Fleur 's blog as part of the Crafty Ribbons Easter Hop .  If not and you've found yourself here wondering what on earth I'm on about (and let’s face it J you wouldn’t be the first!!) check out the Inspirations site for all the juicy details! My project for the hop is         Easter bunting!  I cut three templates first - a triangle pennant, a bird and a heart.        Then I cut the pennant shapes from fibre ribbon, threaded them on to some 3mm satin and evenly spaced them.  I embellished each flag with some beads...       I backed the birds and heart on some thin white card and glued them to the centre of the pennants.   My supplies list: yellow fibre , pink fibre , lime fibre , 3mm satin , button box , white card, glue, beads, needle and thread.   ...

Feathered Friends

A few feathered smiles for today! I love this little chicks tatty tail.  I can imagine it was packed in the nest and the long tail feathers got in the way a bit!! And our handsome robin... Two smiles for your Friday - Linking up at Friday Smiles :)
