WW1

Well, here is my effort for his months White With 1 challenge.  The colour is CORAL and you need to use decorative edges.  I'm not entirely happy with it.  It feels more like 1 With White - too much coral... and I'm not convinced my edges are decorative enough... anyhoo, lets have a look...

I took a sheet of coral and white hexagon paper and cut the straight edges off with my craft knife.  This is attempt one at decorative edges.  Added some gesso.  All of my layers are cut first of all straight and then with a perforating cutter a few mm's in from the edge.  It gives a faux stitching feel to the layers.  This is attempt two at decorative edges!

Then a few close ups of the embellishment clusters...  Thanks to Mum for the crocheted hexagon!

I didn't have a white hexagon button so I dunked one in gesso :)

Loads of white star sequins too...

This is probably the best picture for seeing the close up of the edges...

What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by

  3. Great layout, Laura, with lots of interesting layers. Single colour pieces are always interesting, I think, and the coral is an unusual colour.

How lovely to hear from you again! One day (hopefully sooner rather than later!) I shall be rejoining WOYWW again - I've started taking boxes over to the new house ready for setting up my new ARTHaven - I can't wait!

Sorry to hear you had problems with your staircase, having a stairlift fitted. Ours is a straight staircase, and the only problem is the door right at the bottom, but they have hinged tracks nowadays to take care of that. I am thrilled with all the discounts I've got!! It's going to make life sooo much easier - another thing to get really excited about in our new house! Keep an eye on my blog for further "during" photos as the work progresses!
