WOYWW 217

Hello and Happy WOYWW!!

I have new goodies on my desk this week.  I ordered from A Sprinkle of Imagination's flash sale.  I love how their orders come - perfectly wrapped, hand written note, little packet of sweets!

There was something for both of us - Bill loves to shred tissue paper...

And I love to play with new goodies!!  :)

They are all from Glitz, a new-to-me company, although how I've missed them I'm not sure!  So today I will be mostly desk hopping and Glitz-ing up a layout or two!!

:)

  11. Finally reached your WOYWW post Laura - I got totally waylaid by your subsequent posts which got my mouth watering, I can tell you! Lovely new stash, and what a sweet piccie of Bill having a go at the tissue - love the little wrinkles round his beak! One of our kitties used to be a great chewdler (our word) of cardboard and no cardboard box was free from her destructive influence, but she's 13 now and I think perhaps her teeth aren't what they were - the house is FULL of boxes at teh moment for the move, and she hasn't chewdled any of them!

Thanks for your lovely comment - yes, we're gradually getting there! I just hope I make it through unscathed, without making myself so overtired that I can't function! I want to enjoy every moment of the process, and beyond, setting up my new Art Heaven!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  12. Hi Laura, Thanks for your kind comments - even though it did bring back memories of burned fingers!!!!!!!! I have to admit it's very tempting to want to hold the pyrography 'pen' ever closer to the tip, particularly when doing a very intricate and delicate area. Only burned myself a couple of times though in many years of doing the artistic craft.
Love your goodies, and your budgy - reminded me of childhood. Had a budgy and a chinchilla rabbit as a boy. No pets now, just retirement and days out, when Margaret (glitterandglue #9) and I aren't crafting that is. Happy WOYWW. Kind regards, john-w #23.

Hello, Happy Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday !  As promised a picture of last Wednesdays 'work' finished off.  Post and more photos here . This week I'm showing off the beaded ATC I made... Tricky to photograph so your getting one with flash and one without... It was all parcelled up and sent off to Queen of Desks Julia .  Here is a basic of how it was made... (lots of waffle about wefts and warps!) I use a flexible beading needle.  It is mainly 'eye' so it is very easy to thread. And delica beads which are more regular and accurate than the better known seed bead.  They are slightly more rectangular than round so they line up better. Thread your needle with the weft thread.  (The cross ways thread that weaves back and forth.)  Pick up the beads... Pass the needlefull of beads underneath the warp (tight length ways) threads on the loom... ...and push each bead u...

Hoppity!

Hoppity hoppity!!  :) Hopeful you have arrived here from Fleur 's blog as part of the Crafty Ribbons Easter Hop .  If not and you've found yourself here wondering what on earth I'm on about (and let’s face it J you wouldn’t be the first!!) check out the Inspirations site for all the juicy details! My project for the hop is         Easter bunting!  I cut three templates first - a triangle pennant, a bird and a heart.        Then I cut the pennant shapes from fibre ribbon, threaded them on to some 3mm satin and evenly spaced them.  I embellished each flag with some beads...       I backed the birds and heart on some thin white card and glued them to the centre of the pennants.   My supplies list: yellow fibre , pink fibre , lime fibre , 3mm satin , button box , white card, glue, beads, needle and thread.   ...

Feathered Friends

A few feathered smiles for today! I love this little chicks tatty tail.  I can imagine it was packed in the nest and the long tail feathers got in the way a bit!! And our handsome robin... Two smiles for your Friday - Linking up at Friday Smiles :)
