I was over the moon to see the Craft Barn running their A-Z challenge again this year. I enjoyed the project in 2013 perhaps the most I have ever enjoyed a crafty project. I thought long and hard about how to work this year and in the end I decided to continue in the 2013 dictionary, in the same style and nature theme. I did think try something different but as I said I enjoyed it so much last time - why not do the same again, for me, and enjoy it again?
First up is B...
for Bunting, Cirl Bunting in this case.
It was good to get back to drawing...
but I was scared of the eye. I am out of practice! It's not the best I've ever done and I'm looking forward to seeing if I improve throughout the year again.
Thanks for stopping by!

Wow! stunning drawing. Is that watercolour?
ReplyDeleteIt's done with Inktense pencils - sort of a watercolour pencil but made with ink that you dissolve with water which is then permanent when dry.
DeleteHi, lovely picture and what a good idea for this challenge. I am still "thinking" about how to go about it.
ReplyDeletecrafty hugs Pen x
Beautiful bird Laura. Looking forward to seeing your future pages.
ReplyDeleteOh Laura, I just love what you've done here. The bird painting is wonderful and I'm a sucker for art journaling on book pages! Lovely job. Looking forward to following your journey with this through the year!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Laura. Have I missed A?
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a good day. Sue
No, they are picking a random letter each fortnight rather than going alphabetically... keeps us guessing what comes next! x
DeleteA fabulous page. I'd like to do the alphabet challenge one day but for this year I'm doing the Journal 52 - thank you for your comments on my blog about this - the finished pages will be on my blog tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful! I was thinking about having a nature theme to my dictionary too although haven't fully committed to the idea yet. Love your drawing. Now I need to look out for Cirl buntings as I'm lucky enough to live in Devon! Lou x
ReplyDeleteOh Laura, I didn't play in 2013, but I hope to this year. I adore your bunting, and I love how you draw. Your photographs always make me smile, and now your drawing does, too. Of course, I've never heard of this Cirl Bunting before, but I suspect they will never migrate across the pond to where I live.
ReplyDeleteOn second inspection, yes I can see the bird has been painted an not stamped or collaged. But it was so perfect I assumed... The faults YOU see are probably very minor niggles, I wouldn't worry! A great start of the challenge.
ReplyDeleteFantastic page, this is beautifully done. I think this dictionary page challenge is a great idea. I did not have the confidence or the time to give it a go in 2013 but this year I am going to try. Your drawing is excellent.
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous and so beautiful. I am green with envy, I'd love to have a bit of your talent x
ReplyDeleteoh wow this is amazing - I love what you have done here. Annie xxx
ReplyDeleteI had to stop by and let you know I joined this challenge, and it was because I saw it on your blog! Thank you, Thank YOU!
ReplyDeleteFabulous!! Can't wait to follow your work throughout the year x
DeleteWow fabulous! A little while since I've seen a cirl bunting, you've captured one brilliantly.
ReplyDeleteI remember how much I admired your art the last time. This is a great first page.
ReplyDeleteFantastic to see you here again - I did enjoy your drawings last time!!

ReplyDeleteGreat page, I love your bird drawing! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, the bird is amazing. Lave the idea of using the dictionary papers as background :)
ReplyDeletelovely drawing, the eye does look fine to me, not scaring at all.
