Pin Cushion

Hello Chaps! Today I am sharing a pin cushion using the ' Stitches ' ribbon from Crafty Ribbons... I cut two triangles of white felt as my base.  To one triangle I added a band of sewing machine ribbon and tucked the ends behind.  To the other triangle, I attached a length of lace around the edge.  Before joining both triangles together I added a loop of 'handmade with love' ribbon. I hand stitched the two triangles together leaving a small gap to allow me to add stuffing.  I pack in some soft toy filling and closed the gap. Thanks for looking!

UK Scrap Addicts had a freebie cut file last week... pop over here to see it and download it!  I've had a play and come up with this... I coloured the cut file with Mister Huey's - the green is called 'Doris'!  It is, without a doubt, the best named ink spray in my collection!  Sequins and felt hearts from SpiegelMom Scraps. I've had this photo ready to scrap since 2015 and I thought the daffs matched it perfectly. The spoon and fork are part of the date stamp.  As soon as I'd stamped it I regretted it - it was so black.  I usually use a grey ink pad.  To balance out the black and make it look like it belonged I added some more stamping, a label and a black pen doodle border. When I stood back and had I look I realised everything was skewiff so I trimmed the white to make the title horizontal and backed the page with black. It's not what I intended to make but I love it nonetheless! Thanks for stopping by!

Dandelion Clocks

I'm up on the SpiegelMom Scraps blog with this layout today... As I say in my post over there I had one of those ideas that wouldn't go until I had created it. So I may a dodgy dandelion cut file and played with some watercolour paint. I added flair from Feed Your Craft and some SpeigelMom Scraps embellishments - Wedding Bells , Strawberry Bubblegum and Cork Confetti in chevrons and butterflies . And this is what happened! I must say I love the painting and the dandelions and the overall warm feeling from the watercolour paper. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Friday

Back with my third DT piece using like for ever's March kit Keepsake... This time I went through and pulled out all the black and white papers and ephemera. I do love a monochrome layout.  I had a few gold accents and used some teal hidden away in a journaling pocket. I'm not a confident journaler so hiding away my words is one of my go-to techniques.  The envelopes in this month's kit are perfect for that!  As I was nearing completing the layout I thought it needed something extra so I added three tangles of thread... You can watch the layout come together:

{WAKEY WAKEY}

Some of the like for ever crew are away on a retreat this weekend, the lucky ducks!  We are also running challenges in our facebook subscribers group... This is the inspiration board for yesterdays challenge: I have matched the three colours as best as I can, and also taken note of the 'always you' and the bathroom (although my bathroom is a lot less luxurious!) and scrapped a photo of me being very me!  I'm yawning and in my jimmiejams. I pulled out my purple Dazzlerz and mixed some with a dot of black ink to darken it down.  I used my ruler to smear it on to the page.  I love doing this but you get the best effects with one drag - I want to carry on playing and end up over working it! I also used some 'Oh say can you sea' and Mr Huey's Orchard inks to add splatters.  I have all my colours swatched in a book so I can see which will match my project. I added a small cluster to the bottom right to balance out the photo on the top left. ...

Banners and Bunting

Hey there!  I'm on the SpiegelMom Scraps blog today with this little layout... You can watch the process here: And pop over to the SMS blog for the write up! Thanks for stopping by!

You Inspire Me Everyday

I had a bit of a crazy weekend in terms of DT projects.  This one didn't make it to my blog... like for ever hold a couple of retreats each year.  As I am unable to make them I hijack the subscribers group and hold a virtual retreat for the members who aren't at the crop. This challenge was to use 'you inspire me everyday' as the focus of your layout. The majority of supplies are from the like for ever March kit, with just a touch of ribbon and a few sequins thrown in, and some white scraps rescued from the recycling. I love the soft floaty feeling of the colour palette.  Combined with the glitter dot acetate and the iridescent star sequins this rockets to the top 10 layouts list! Thanks for stopping by!

Blankets

I was instantly inspired by this month's Stuck sketch... Here is Laura W's sketch... My supplies are from Claudia Van R's first collection with Pretty Little Studio - and boy do I love them! Sequins are from SpiegelMom Scraps and are a perfect match. I'm also entering this at For The Love Of Pretty Paper facebook group's challenge to use acetate creatively. Thanks for stopping by!

Stick It Down ~ March

Sometimes when I design sketches I think about other people using them, sometimes I'm very selfish and think only about me using them.  This sketch for Stick It Down was a very selfish sketch!  This is all about what I wanted to create... And I adore the outcome... My paper is from Pretty Little Studio.  I didn't want to cut it up, I didn't want to cover up any of the prettiness. I went through my entire sequin stash (and that's not a quick job!) to find the perfect matching sequins. A little bit of messy splattering with a few matching inks... And here is the process video: I hope to see you join us over at Stick It Down !

2nd cousins

Hi there, I'm on the like for ever blog today...  I've been stamping on vellum! I'm not the greatest stamper but I'll share the tips I have picked up... 1. take your time - there is no rush 2. put some padding underneath the surface you are stamping on - I use a piece of foam 3. push firmly all over the stamp block to ensure a good impression and give the ink time to transfer also, you'll see when you watch the video that I'm speaking from experience, don't absentmindedly place the inky stamp face down on your paper/vellum!  Sigh!! But it turned out OK in the end.  I used the vellum to make a giant shaker pocket and filled it with  Rockin' Pink Ombre from SpiegelMom Scraps. I featured the rosette from the cut apart sheet and added a hand cut title.  I added matching ribbons from Crafty Ribbons . Here's the video: Thanks for stopping by!

YOU

Hey there, today's SpiegelMom Scraps project features a Dazzlerz/sequins combo... If you are not a fan of sticking sequins on individually I highly recommend this technique!  Spread a layer of Dazzlerz (or Pasteez - note to self: must do this with Pasteez soon!) and while it is still wet sprinkle on some sequins.  You can choose to gently push them in with your fingertips, but I've found these little stars don't need any encouragement to stick. I made a photo collage in PicMonkey of the same photo repeated three times, two in black and white and one in colour.  Under the black and white photos I added some black acrylic ink and some black sugar paper torn from a sketchbook.  Under the coloured photo I added some vellum and Red-iculous Dazzlerz and Gold Stardust. For a few extra details, I added a couple of labels and short title.  Again I kept the colour to one side and black and white on the other.  I also added a few gold stardust sequins to...

UK Scrap Addicts

I am over on the UK Scrap Addicts blog today.  Here is a sneak... But you'll have to go over to see the rest !  It's very exciting to see my little venture growing...

Money Box

Hi Guys, today I am sharing a money box made using an old dominoes box and the By The Sea ribbons from Crafty Ribbons . First off I whittled a coin sized hole in the wood.  It was easy enough to do with a craft knife as the wood was very soft.  To prepare my wooden box to accept paint I used a watercolour ground.  Once that was dry I played around with some turquoise and brown watercolour paints, flicking and splattering until my desk was messy and my heart was happy! I added some of the lighthouse ribbon to either side and wrapped some seaside ribbon around the box.  I added some hand lettering to the front and a few sequins for extra sparkle. It's easy to get the money out as the front panel slides out.  I wonder if it will help with my savings..? Thanks for stopping by!
