WOYWW 161

Hello Desk-y Folks!

I'm trying to sort and organise my 12 x 12's so have treated myself to some new boxes.

They are smaller than the ones I have so I should be able to lift them without hurting myself!  :)  Yesterday I set about taking the easy peel labels off.  Pfft!  Easy peel my foot!

By the ended of the de-labelling session I was too tired to do anything else!  Today as well as desk hopping, physio and watching Wimbledon, I will be sorting out my papers!

"No more tennis!!  I'm taking over the widger!!"

Or maybe not!!

Thanks for stopping by,
Laura (and Billy!)

  4. Hi Laura, love the boxes, hate the labels. There is stuff you can buy, spray on, and remove the label without the hassle - the EM is my got to person for things like that ... his stash is full of useful stuff like that :) Oh, and that is one clever budgie! Happy WOYWW, enjoy the desk hopping and I'll be watching some of the tennis too, Elizabeth x #85

    1. Can you get Really Useful Boxes (RUBs) in the US? I am sure they do a 12 x 12 one. I've got wire panels made up into shelves for my paper store.

  10. Hi Laura, Crafters Companion do 'Stick Away' which works really well and it takes sticky off scissors and other tools too but Lakeland's may be more cost effective. I think CCs is £5.99 a tin. Love the pic of Billy, how lovely is he? Thanks for the visit, have a Happy WOYWw, Anne x #49

  11. love the bird. I bought some of the larger easy peel stickers on them too. Ended up laying them upside down and putting warm/hot water on them for a minute before I attempted to peel the sticker off and they came off easy that way. Wonder why they don't tell you that to begin with? ;- ) Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a great day. Vickie #36

  13. ROFL at your post this week, Laura!! Really funny. Love the way you took a photo of the dreaded label not coming off! I use Crafter's Companion Stick Away for stuff like that. It's amazing stuff. Labels that don't come off are one of my pet hate. I loathe labels on fruit too...

Love little Billy trying to take over the TV zapper too.

Have fun arranging your papers! Sorry the whole experience has been so exhausting. Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog which also made me laugh! The only way I find to lift the dreaded brainfog is to rest, rest, rest. What did your physio do to you to put you to sleep like that? I go off like that if I'm super exhausted after overdoing things. Hope they've got the right idea and aren't getting you to push yourself too much... Take care, and don't get yourself into the state I was in last week.

    Happy WOYWW,

    1. My physio is great, she understands and 'gets' M.E. She mainly gives me ultrasound and massage to whichever part of me is hurting the most, usually my back as my core muscles are quite pathetic!! Lx

  15. Those stickers drive me crazy too. Such a sweet little budgie, I'm a real bird person. I have a large parrot and when he gets the remote the buttons get eaten, that's why we have to hide it.
    Have a great week.

  17. Hi Laura, Thanks for popping by my blog and saying hi, I love the birdie what is his name? Oh and those blessed labels are horrid indeed. I use citro clean or eucalyptus oil on them and they come off like a breeze. hope the advice helps.

  18. Thanks for dropping by ... that budgie is super cute. Labels are a pain I just use vege oil and that seems to get it off, a bit messy but does the trick.

  19. Love Billy. Had a blue budgie myself years ago called Mickey, and then a canary who sang like an angel.
No such thing as non-stick labels it's just a ploy to make us lose out tempers.
Thanks for popping by yesterday - much appreciated.

  23. Yep, don't you love those easy peel labels!! And little Billy bird is adorable!!! Maybe I'll put a photo of Tulip in my post next week. She just cracks me up. She's started laughing like me -- it's hilarious -- makes me even laugh harder (and louder).

Thanks for visiting me already. I was out celebrating my Independence yesterday!

  24. Billy has to be male right? What is it with males and the remote!?!!??
If I have stubborn labels I tend to use a little nail varnish remover on a cotton wool pad to help ease it off.
We're watching Wimbledon from downunder and keeping our fingers crossed for Andy...(in a hushed voice) he's looking good but don't want to jinx him!
Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend ~ enjoy :D

  26. GREAT photo of Billy! Oh, those naughty labels. I always used WD40 to get stickiness off . . . works a treat! Girls best friend for all sorts of things around the home!

Enjoy Wimbledon (if you're allowed to by Billy).

Hello, Happy Whats On Your Workdesk Wednesday !  As promised a picture of last Wednesdays 'work' finished off.  Post and more photos here . This week I'm showing off the beaded ATC I made... Tricky to photograph so your getting one with flash and one without... It was all parcelled up and sent off to Queen of Desks Julia .  Here is a basic of how it was made... (lots of waffle about wefts and warps!) I use a flexible beading needle.  It is mainly 'eye' so it is very easy to thread. And delica beads which are more regular and accurate than the better known seed bead.  They are slightly more rectangular than round so they line up better. Thread your needle with the weft thread.  (The cross ways thread that weaves back and forth.)  Pick up the beads... Pass the needlefull of beads underneath the warp (tight length ways) threads on the loom... ...and push each bead up in the corresponding g

Hoppity!

Hoppity hoppity!!  :) Hopeful you have arrived here from Fleur 's blog as part of the Crafty Ribbons Easter Hop .  If not and you've found yourself here wondering what on earth I'm on about (and let’s face it J you wouldn’t be the first!!) check out the Inspirations site for all the juicy details! My project for the hop is         Easter bunting!  I cut three templates first - a triangle pennant, a bird and a heart.        Then I cut the pennant shapes from fibre ribbon, threaded them on to some 3mm satin and evenly spaced them.  I embellished each flag with some beads...       I backed the birds and heart on some thin white card and glued them to the centre of the pennants.   My supplies list: yellow fibre , pink fibre , lime fibre , 3mm satin , button box , white card, glue, beads, needle and thread.   At each stop on the hop there'll be a word to collect and a candy draw. I've got these

WOYWW & Card Deck Swap

First up is my desk ... Hmm.  Perhaps the less said the better!  I really should have a sort out but I fancy desking instead! Next I want to share my card deck swaps (deskers don't have to stay for this bit but I reckon you'd enjoy joining in with us, which is why I'm including it in this post) You can read about the swap here on Jessica's blog and sign up here .  Basically, we take a deck of cards, add paint and/or paper, then add a positive sentiment to each card.  Post them to Jessica who shuffles them and sends back 52 different cards from different artists (yes, you are an artist!) from all over the world. These few are ones I have picked out to display first.  I'll swap them round after a few weeks.  Do you like my domino pegs?  :) Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll at least consider joining us for the card swap - it's like a super sized ATC swap, and all WOYWW er's know they are fun! See you at your desk x
