Today brings you the letter E... It's the Craft Barn's Alpha Challenge again.
Still loving this challenge :)
I used white acrylic paint watered down slightly as a light base. Then I used a combination of drawing pencils, blendable coloured pencils and watercolour pencils. I've found that just going for it without thinking too much helps me... if I think I get nervous about going wrong.
It took me ages to find a photo of an egg but then, bingo, a picture and all this information about the eggs and nest and well, I'd just forget it if I didn't write it down, so on it went! I drew the egg to scale (ish... but shush, ;) don't tell anyone it's a couple of mm out!!) filled it in with acrylic and roughed up the surface to give it a texture.
I've been looking through some of the tricky letters trying to work out what I will choose when they come around. Is that cheating?! I think on a couple of letters I might have to use artistic license to keep to my animal world theme!
Thanks for stopping by!
Laura, WOW! That is fab. Love the textured egg, but the bird is really great.
ReplyDeleteLove it Laura! your bird is wonderful x
ReplyDeleteFabulous Eagle Laura love your page!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from the Alpha Challenge - this is a wonderful page. Great choice of word too. The eagle is such a majestic bird.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you'll need to use too much license, there's a creature for every letter of the alphabet. Check this out, http://a-z-animals.com/animals/pictures/ Good luck, :0) Mo
Awesome Mo, thank you. That won't be the problem though, it's the dictionary - let's just say it's missing more than a few words I would expect to see! It's quite old - I'm also learning new words though so I shouldn't complain! :)
DeleteWow - this is awesome :)
