Scrapbooking | hello Nanny & Gramps

I don't have many photos of my Nanny and Gramps together so when I came across this one I wanted to scrap it straight away.  I have no idea of the date and I'm not fussed either. I chose to use the one and only patterned paper I allowed myself to buy from the latest Paige Evans collection.  These diamonds remind me of quilting and my Nanny is a quilter (or was when she was able).  I was selective in which diamonds I cut out ignoring the pink ones.  I arranged them in 3 starbursts and added sewing to hold them in place. The title is an acrylic piece from Colour Cast Designs.  I must have had it for 3 or 4 years?  Crazy hoarder!  The mist in the background is Mint To Be Spritz from Shimmerz.  It's my new favourite but I've said that about all of the other colours too! As the layout progressed I realised I wanted something over to the left of the page so added a strip of the diamond paper.  This time I couldn't avoid all the p...

Father & Son

This month The Sparklers are working with circle and sketches... The first sketch is from Laura Whitaker and was easy to scale back to my minimal style. I was incredibly lucky to be gifted a Lottie Loves Paper voucher and bought a couple of packs of stickers from the new 1canoe2 range, and they formed the colour scheme for this layout. The sequins are Puppy Dog Tails and Road Trips & Sunshine from the newest release.  This mustard colour is my 'thing' at the moment.  I'm wearing it daily and sneaking it on to as many projects as possible - it's my new neon!! Thanks for looking!

Joy is effervescent hope

Have you ever had a 'word of the year'?  I liked the idea but found it hard coming up with one word.  In the end, I settled on this little phrase... Joy is effervescent hope.  It came from a bible reading via UCB .  I wanted to go a little deeper so added the definitions and synonyms... Without getting too preachy - this is a craft blog after all - I like that having that hope in the Lord, knowing that he is always working for your best, can bring joy; joy that just spills over out of you that you cannot control.  I want that in my life! Back to the craft... I grabbed a 12" embroidery hoop and some paper and rub ons from like for ever 's Woodland kit. I added a few sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps to add some twinkle. To hang it I added some 3mm grosgrain and my favourite mint lace from Crafty Ribbons . I added the rub on butterflies to vellum and fussy cut around them.  This gave them lots of dimension and delicacy esp...

Hello Love

Hello!  I'm sharing a favourite recent layout and video... I even pulled out some of my precious mint star paper from Cocoa Vanilla as I love this photo so much... Most of the rest of the supplies are from like for ever 's January kit 'Woodland'  I added in some mint Volcan lace from Crafty Ribbons. I felt I needed some black accents.  I am out of black enamel dots so I painted some coloured ones with gesso and acrylic ink.  They turned out really well.  I don't think I would use them on something that would get handled a lot, like a mini album, as the paint does scratch off with some force. I added a few clear sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps as well - #everythingisbetterwithsequins This layout has been made for a facebook challenge set by GoGoGetaway . Speaking of challenges on facebook Crafty Ribbons are starting facebook challenges from today...  the only stipulation is you must use ribbon on your make.  Pop ove...
