Cousin Love

Well, this may be my favourite layout for a while... I love the subject matter, the colours and the 'ingredients' used!  Let me take you through it... the flowers are Jen Schow cut files colourised with Shimmerz .  The alphas are from Ashley Calder - the second O is a Q with her tail cut off!  The ribbon is recycled from a cake and the pins have sat on my desk for a few years!! The green thread that the flowers nest on pull out the green from the alphas and bring it all together nicely. The wonderful mix of sequins is " Lilac Twinkle " one of the April releases from SpiegelMom Scraps. Thanks for stopping by!

Be Awesome

Here is a layout I made at the end of last year... I had a little delve in my stash and came up with lace from Crafty Ribbons that has nearly sold out.  (You can grab a £1 sale pack here while they last!)  As it had nearly sold out and was no longer available in the main shop I stopped using it.  Why?  I hadn't run out...  Anyway, I used 6 lengths on this layout, maybe that makes up for it?! The cluster is all Things That Shine pieces that I have fussy cut and stacked with a corrugated tag. The background is me experimenting when I first got some modelling paste.  It was put to one side to be used later - that was months ago!  Finally it's used. By the way, Crafty Ribbons are looking for a few more crafters to join our team...  We'd love to hear from you! Also, in the spirit of being awesome and not afraid I'm entering this layout in to Avenue 613 All Crafts Word Art Wednesday Thanks for stopping by!

@ Chococo

So it would seem I'm leaning towards layouts that are heavy on one side with lots of white space on the opposite side at the moment.  Without realising it, I have made my last three layouts to this general rule - photos, words, embellishments on one third of the page and nothing in the other two thirds. I've also been following the  No Scrapbooking Police blog series about and I can tell you it is brilliant - if you scrap, read these posts and be freed! So I'm completely OK with the amount of white space I'm leaving - I know it isn't 'in' or 'on trend' but I'm just doing my thing. On to the layout; I've used supplies from my counterfeit kit, and taken inspiration from Ashley Calder and Scrap Your Scraps' challenge.   They challenge you to make a project based on something you've pinned on Pinterest.  I pinned this image...  of cute altered paper clips.  I have approximately 6000 paper clips but apparently only one...

Helloo!

Last week I was away.  With this level of M.E. it is pretty much existing in a different house rather than a holiday, however I am truly grateful to be able to spend time elsewhere.  The week before that I received 4 parcels of stash - two birthday goodies, one set of new ribbons and one parcel that got lost in December and decided to resurface!  It was a little overwhelming to come home to so much new stuff, I didn't know where to start, what to look at, what to play with...  I used up my energy by thinking and not doing. In the end I decided to pull out a stencil and some pitt pens from my box of goodies from Ashley.  ( Ashley had a ' destash ' and I bought the box - some amazing goodies that I'll be sharing soon...)    Having never used pitt pens before I just scribbled and coloured and doodled a little - just trying them out and seeing what they were like. Verdict: really nice, good flow, vibrant colours.  No bleed through (u...

My Pink Prize!

A little while back I was fortunate enough to win some goodies for Ashley Calder 's blog giveaway.  Everything I won was pink.  Pink confetti, pink bows, pink bunting, pink sequins, pink wands!  Here are a couple of girly layouts I put together; Sticking the confetti down one by one took time but I love the ordered effect. Oh, ok, it wasn't purely pink, there was some gold too... This makes me smile - my fairy princess is now a hockey goalkeeper and couldn't be less pink!  :D Again each piece of confetti stuck down individually but this time I threw it on and stuck it where it landed for a random effect. I want to say a massive thank you to Ashley not just for the prize but for inspiring me time and time again. Thanks for stopping by
