ScrapTubeUK | Fresh Starts

I'm part of a little scrappy YouTube hop today with this project. The theme was new beginnings and the challenge was to use something out of your comfort zone. I've gone for a scraptherapy style 6x8 spread featuring a caterpillar and lots of (shock horror) pink! I don't like pink - not sure if I've ever mentioned that!  I do love caterpillars and butterflies and the concept of mushing down to nothing and re-emerging as a beautiful delicate being that flutters so gracefully. The majority of  the supplies are from the latest Lollipop Box Club kit called Alice's Tea Party. Here's the video... And you can check out my fellow creators videos here: Nicola Richards (Nicky Nack's Papercrafts) https://youtu.be/UmFZ27fvt6s Niki Rowland https://youtu.be/PEs2p--VZRU Ellen Rack (EllenOscar Journals) https://youtu.be/3iiFYCoZpAk Samantha Adams (My Messy Desk) https://youtu.be/R4OCUwRTUo4

Pretty My Page | Garden Mandala

Pop over to the Pretty My Page blog to read more on this layout... I love the way this stained glass effect looks. You can watch it come together here: Fun, huh?

Pretty My Page | Happy Mail

Pop over to the Pretty My Page blog for more on this sweet little happy mail parcel.

Christmas ATC's VII

Another collection of goodies layered up, clipped together and added to a ATC base. This ATC could be taken to pieces and re-used by the recipient.  I love the thought of another crafter using the same pieces in their future art work. Thanks for stopping by - is it too early to say Merry Christmas?

Christmas ATC's VI

This ATC was assembled from left overs and embellished with sequins...  I love the way the star sequins sit in the holes in the wooden tree. Thanks for stopping by!

for someone sweet

StickerKitten's Sweet Pastels range has these cute lollypop stamps. I added a little coloured encil to the sticks and matted the stamped pieces on some of the patterned paper from the same range. I finished off with some ribbon from my stash.

Pretty My Page Acorn Mesh Cut File

This layout uses Pretty My Page's Acorn Mesh cut file.  I adore the cut file - you can download it here or have it cut for you here . I cut it on kraft as I was trying to do something different.  That was my first 'mistake' - I don't really like kraft! I painted through the cut file with Minc Reactive Mist and added different colour foils to the leaves and acorns.  Second mistake - it needs quite a thick layer of mist to get a good foiling (presumably the Minc paint would work better for this... must buy some!) Mistake 3 for me is it is a whole page design.  You know I like my white space! But I look it this layout and I can see there is nothing wrong with it, it is just not my style.  I can also see what I can do to make it more me so I hope to do another version soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Gift Box

I love a project that starts as one thing and turns out as something completely different! Remember the layout I shared yesterday ?  These hearts are the negatives from the Pretty My Page cut file.  I had a play with them and some Distress Oxide inks.  I mopped up the excess ink with a sheet of cardstock. I ran the coloured hearts through the sewing machine to make a string of bunting. I glued the sheet of paper to a gift box blank and trimmed it out.  I added stamping with the Brush Hearts stamp set from Skull and Cross Buns. I used some of the coloured card as a gift tag, stamped a sentiment and strung it on some matching ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. You can watch the process here: I still have loads of the heart bunting left so I'll still get to make the layout I originally intended too!

LLP Sketch Challenge

I'm guest designing for Lottie Loves Paper again... there is a brand new and exclusive sketch too! Here is the sketch I drew up... I've used Fancy Pants The Bright Side for my layout. It's a collection I picked up in the Lottie Loves Paper flash sales a while back and I'm really enjoying the colours and patterns. I've added in some tile alphas from Pretty Little Studio and some small Elle's studio alphas.  Of course a Laura layout isn't a Laura layout without some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins! Check in at the Lottie Loves Paper Community Group on Facebook to join in with the challenge - there is a prize up for grabs! Thanks for looking!

Sparkly Lollies

Love a bit of frivolity? This creation with August's Glittery Hands Box should suit you then!  Very sparkly, very positive and very fun. What else do you do with glittery felt, a cute positive sentiment stamp and glittery cardstock?! Thanks for looking!

Jar of Lucky Stars

Lucky stars are so fun to make!  The basics are: grab a strip of paper, fold at 108 degrees continually to make a pentagon, push the edges in to pop the middle.  You can find detailed instructions here . Here I've used StickerKitten's Unicorn Fairground collection not just for the stars but also to decorate a jar to hold them. Any excuse to make a shrink plastic unicorn, right?! I also stamped a strip of vellum with the word unicorn to label the jar.  I used tiny glue dots to adhere the vellum to the glass - this gives the cleanest finish possible when combining seethrough glass and mostly seethrough vellum.  You can grab your StickerKitten supplies here !  Linking up at Inspire Me Mondays ! Thanks for looking!

Just Not Very Good

This layout was made with an old and new theme, we were then asked to throw in a bit of gold too. I've used a new stencil from Skull and Cross Buns and some old die cut frames. My touches of gold come in the form of a label and a foiled banner.  I really enjoyed making this one even if the photo is a little bit cringey!

Pretty Little Studio

I am super excited to be amongst the squad guest designers Pretty Little Studio have lined up for the spring/summer.  I'm taking part in a freebie Instahop today - you can find the details here and the freebie here . This month's freebie is by Claudia Van R and is beautifully pastel and dreamy. I added some sequins and enamel dots, and a whole bunch of sewing. The great thing about printables is you can pick and choose what you want.  I printed a load of the triangles in a few different sizes and was able to create something I wouldn't have been able to with a pack of ephemera.  The downside is my printer is rather naff!  I would love a better printer so suggestions for makes and models greatly appreciated! Thanks for stopping by!

Candy Cane Shaker

I've pulled out my silhouette cameo again for this weeks SpiegelMom Scraps project.  We are still working with the theme of Use Your Tools - I do plan to use other tools too but I really love my Cameo! What better than a shaker candy cane packed with festive sequins?! Happy Happy Winter fills the majority on the shaker areas with two highlighting some handmade polymer clay candy canes by the fabulous Manxy Cat Crafts . The remainder of the layout features some splatters with Shimmerz Paints Vibez in Snow Storm and some grosgrain ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. This one was a lot of fun! Thanks for looking!

gift wrapping

Fancy wrapping is my thing so I love this time of year! I've used Crafty Ribbons Gingerbread ribbon on this parcel... If you need me I'll be sitting on the floor surrounded by wrapping supplies!!

Gingerbread Jar

Guess who's been having fun..? Me!  I made this jar up with some kitchen staples and some Gingerbread House ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. So.  Much.  Fun!! I nabbed the recipie from Auntie Beeb - link - but added in some smarties to decorate with. I added in some green seam binding and some red heart lace . Thanks for looking!
