Just Not Very Good

This layout was made with an old and new theme, we were then asked to throw in a bit of gold too. I've used a new stencil from Skull and Cross Buns and some old die cut frames. My touches of gold come in the form of a label and a foiled banner.  I really enjoyed making this one even if the photo is a little bit cringey!

Bobby's Frame

I have another box frame to share... This one is 90% Cocoa Vanilla supplies... The wood star confetti and tiny star stickers are not CVS. I'm not the biggest fan of wood veneer shapes but the CVS collections always catch my eye... this hello banner is gorgeous! And I was pleased to use the vellum and acetate stars from the Totally Rad and Made of Awesome collections as a feature. No sequins in this one - he's not a fan - so I restrained myself.  I think I'd like it better with a few sequins in!! ;) Thanks for looking!

welly boots

I have a LOT of stencils.  My friend has just opened a new website selling stencils.  I don't use a lot of stencils.  I want a lot of the stencils on my friend's new website.  These four things don't sit all that well together... I need to have a sort through my stencils.  I have a theory that I buy what I like the look of without thinking about how I will use it.  I did this with paper at the beginning of my crafting adventure too, and it led to a huge cull!  Any way, this layout uses one of my stencils... along with a whole bunch of blue goodies dug out from my stash.  I love these kinds of layouts - they are not made with a collection or big brand supplies.  Rather they are a collection of tags from clothes I've bought, packaging, off cuts and snippets, doilies and labels with a few ribbons thrown in for good measure. Thanks for stopping by!

est 2002

I've just got my hands on some of Ashley Horton's Wish You Were Here collection from Pretty Little Studios.  It is lush!  I wish I had bought more than I did! I got the 6x6 papers and knew this stripy paper needed to be cut up and stuck back down spaced out.  I added a tonne of mixed media and some stitching. I can't wait to make more with this collection.  There are some aeroplanes which I'm itching to use!  My grandfather (and my uncle) was a pilot so I need to find some photos of him to print off. Thanks for looking!

Baby Name Box Frame

Well, I started a bit of a thing!  I made a box frame and then 'needed' to make one for all of the little uns in my life!  I won't share them all at once, today here is Jesse's... This was focused on using some dinosaur buttons from StickerKitten.  All the papers are Wild Whisper as the colours were a good match. The dinosaur confetti is made with rubber stamps, again from StickerKitten and shrink plastic. I love the fact I have fooled myself in to thinking this is for my nephew... it's totally for me really!  I just wanted to make dinosaur confetti!! I added a few sequins too because I'm a firm believer that sequins are not just for girls! I've been asked a few times if I will make these on commission - I will.  Drop me an email and we'll chat.  Postage is stupid and unfortunately, that cost will fall to you, but the box frame itself is very reasonable! Thanks for stopping by!

8.5x11

I have been persuaded to try scrapping in a different size.  I am confident with 12x12 layouts so have never seen a reason to try something else.  I've recently been drawing up some sketches and enjoyed designing in 8.5x11 so I thought I would have a go at making one too... It is made with last month's like for ever kit. Can't beat a bit of bunting! I added some texture to the background with Shimmerz Dazzlerz paste.  I love the mixed font title, I really must try this more often! Thanks for stopping by!

UK YouTube Hop

Hello!  It's National Scrapbooking Day!  I'm very excited! I am taking part in lots of celebrations including my very first YouTube hop.  Nancy aka Kitty Scrapper has oragnised a few UK scrappers for a short hop.  Here is my video: And for the stills and close ups... The frames are Gossamer Blue, the papers various like for ever kits including Crate Paper, Pink Paislee and My Minds Eye. Gorgeous doily from SpiegelMom Scraps altered with Shimmerz (also background done with Shimmerz) Leaf cut outs courtesy of the pile on my desk that needs to be put away! Lace from Crafty Ribbons altered with Inktense. So pleased with this photo - I loved watching these baby Barn Swallows growing and the parents doing an awesome job of catching enough food for all the hungry beaks! The next video on the hop is Bex - she is fab! Thanks for stopping by!

Picnic

Just scooting through my drafts folder and came across these photos from last year.  It is made with a like for ever kit - which one escapes me right now - but probably the first half of last year... I think the cut file is from the cut shoppe... again, it was so long ago I'm not certain! I am rather in love with all these soft colours and patterns! And clear acetate pieces too - I must dig some more out soon! Thanks for stopping by today!

Christmas Frame

Hello!  Merry Christmas to one and all! This is a cheap glass clip frame from the pound shop.  I've added some lace around the edge with red backed super sticky tape. I created a template on my Silhouette software to cut a grid of squares to match the size of the patterns on the Christmas Charm Snowflakes ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.  I stuck them to the back with more red backed super sticky tape - I love the stuff, it sticks everything! Then to finish off I used some gold Stickles glitter glue to script Merry Christmas directly on to the glass.  It looks really impressive and you don't have to tell anyone that you lay the glass over some printed script and just traced it!! Enjoy your next few festive days x

Happy, happy, happy...

This layout is a mish mash of supplies from my stash.  It started with a handful of "happy's" from the Pink Fresh papers from a past like for ever kit.  The range was called Happy Things so each piece of aper was branded with the logo.  I thought I could use them and stashed them away safely! I made a little rosette with a vellum piece from Elle's Studio, a wood veneer, a scrap of patterned paper and some twill tape from Crafty Ribbons. The green patterned paper is a mailshot from Boden!  And the Happy's are lined up peeping out from beneath the photo. I can only imagine the happiness he was feeling having two dummies at bed time!

Frame

This little box frame has been hanging around in my 'to alter' pile for quite a while.  When I saw this meadow ribbon from Crafty Ribbons I knew I wanted to extend it in to a picture... I gathered a few buttons, my butterfly punch and a blue Inktense colouring pencil. I cut a square of watercolour paper to fit the frame and very faintly drew some cloud lines and blended it out with a water brush. I added the flower buttons as if they were growing from the ribbon.  I added one butterfly with dimensional glue and suspended the other on thread. Quite simple, effective and very fun to make!

Slide

Hello! Just a quick share of a layout made with my April Like For Ever kit... The white frame with gold arrows - well, it started out a different colour.  I loved it for the glitter sandwiched between two sheets of acetate but the frame itself was not my cup of tea.  Easily sorted out with some gesso and rub ons! I added loads of sequins - real ones and rub ons! And these gorgeous gold foil and white labels - I loved them so much that I ordered another pack!  :)

Twelve Days of Christmas - Day Eleven

It's the penultimate day of Crafty Ribbons' Twelve Days of Christmas celebrations.  Today I have used my old trick of framing some of Ali's beautiful ribbon. I chose some Santas from the Vintage Christmas Past range, cut them to size and popped them in the mini frames. They now sit on my little shelf looking pretty! I hope you can nip over to Craft Ribbons Inspirations to see what the girls have made and join in the giveaway!

Buttons!

What do you think of this? Fun, huh?  I love it.  A simple white frame bought from a market stall a few years back covered with glorious buttons!  I've used buttons from lots of packs, you can find them here... allsorts , dolly , pastel hearts , sea breeze , jelly beans , gardening brights and a couple of spotty buttons too.  I had so much fun sorting through and deciding which ones to use! I used glue gel to stick the buttons down.  A hot glue woud work too but I like the wiggle time the glue gel gives allowing me to reposition if need be.  Of course I'm unable to go too long without using ribbon so I added some to a button and replaced the twine hanging thread with matching swiss dots . Here it is hung on the wall where it can be smiled at often! Thanks for stopping by!
