Glittery Hands Manicure

This is going to become a monthly thing... the glitter pot in my Glittery Hands Box just screams at me to be used on my nails! This month is a beautiful blue mix with a touch of turquoise, silver and plenty of iridescent shine. I tried an intricate design on my thumb with each flake of glitter placed to make a pattern.  It didn't work - but no worries - I just dipped my entire nail in the pot and will try again next month!  I learnt a few things in the process. 1 - don't attempt designs when you have the shakes. 2 - do it on your non dominant hand!  We'll see if I remember that next month! Now I am off to play with my new kit!

Rudolph Nail Art

I was chatting to my cousins (8 and 12) last year about what I should do for my Christmas manicure.  They came up with Rudolph nails. So I obliged and attempted a Rudolph accent nail.  They thought it was great... I wonder what they'll request this year?!

WOYWW 200

I can't miss out on the 200th edition of the best hop on the net... Here is my desk today... Not a lot of things going on really. Half made this, part made that.  I may get to sit and work at my desk on Friday but until then it will stay like that. Only other thing I have done recently is this manicure... Neon tips.  Not for the faint hearted!!  :) Happy WOYWW lovely people!

at least 20 Shades Of Pink

There is a new blog on the block... In The Pink Their first challenge is 50 Shades of Pink . To start off with I painted my nails using the water marble technique . To do this you use masking tape and it has occurred to me before that some of the bits are very pretty and would work well in scrapbooks or cards.  I saved the bits and waited for my nails to dry... And then made this card with the offcuts. Thinking that just the blank and masking tape probably wasn't 'enough' I then gathered all my pink glitters and decorated the front and the bottom square of tape. I've just scanned the list of entries so far and they are all so soft, feminine and pretty.  Mine is not that style... but I do think it qualifies as pink enough!!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Not Shy

Apparently I am obsessed with neon colours at the moment.  Yesterday I did this to my nails... Crazy bright!! I like 'em though... Who knew you could achieve so many things with cut n dry foam!! Thanks for stopping by, Laura :)

Super Happy!!

Just a quick blog today to say thanks a million to the guys at Quirky Crafts for naming my Daffodil as the winner of challenge 13 . I'm going to watch the final of the European Championships tonight.  I'm cheering for Spain... which judging by my luck means they will lose!  Earlier on in the tournament I painted my nails with the quarter finalists teams flags... Greece's flag was more than a little bit tricky!! Today I'm wearing this design... Tricky to get a photograph to show them off well.  A bit more subtle than the flags!! Thanks for stopping by!

Marbled Nails

I saw this technique of water marbling nail varnish on youtube . I had to have a go! Pink and purples for my first attempt.  I redid two or three nails as I misplaced my nail the first time and got a naf bit of pattern!  Because it is a really thin layer of polish it dried instantly and lasted ages. Peach and coral for my second try.  Again I redid a coupe of nails.  Then added a little sequin. It seems to work best for me with Barry M nail varnishes.  I tried to mix brands (pink from 17 and violet from No. 7) and it just didn't work.  And I had to change the water a few times - the nail varnish didn't spread across the surface of 'dirty' used water. Good fun. (Linking to Inspire Me Fridays !)
