Laura Rumble - Crafter

I'm on the UK Scrap Addicts blog today.  Here's a sneak... I hope you pop over for a looksee!

As part of my Guest Designer spot with Counterfeit Kit Club I also get to participate in their Scrapbook Day celebrations.  There is tonnes going on over the weekend so pop over and have a peep - oh, and there are prizes!!! So chuffed with this layout - it is SO me!  I took inspiration from this video .  So if Corrie's 'thing' is stamping and embossing, or adding pretty embellishments, my 'thing' is definitely ribbon.  So I made this layout inspired by Corrie... It is titled Cuddles - These were the first cuddles my cousins had with my nephew. I went to town with ribbon!! It is a layout that screams out to be touched!  Full of texture and movement. I'd say 95% of the ribbons I used come from Crafty Ribbons .  If there is anything in particular you'd like more information on just ask! It's nothing like the original except for the rainbow colours, and that is brilliant!  You can take inspiration from things without copyin...

The difference being that it is made of pencils! These four colouring pencils were a freebie and as soon as I saw them I knew I wanted to do something out of the ordinary with them.  I pulled out matching 3mm satin ribbon and set to work trying to tie them together.  After lots of frustration I pulled out the glue gel and stuck them together!  When the gel had dried I added my ribbon and tied them in to bows. Then this square of pencils sat on my desk for a week or more.  I just wasn't sure how to make it in to something...  I couldn't add it to scrapbook page as it is too dimensional.  I couldn't incorporate it in to a mini album as it wouldn't withstand much bashing around.  There were two options left; a wreath - just a bit of quirky colour for the sake of it or a picture frame - finding a way to put a back on and getting it to stand by itself and adding a photo.  As of yet I've not managed to find a way of making it stand,...
