A Little Brag!

Well, I'm only guest designer at Quirky Crafts for the next fortnight :) Look, I got a badge to prove it!! We were given a set of digi's.  Bleurgh, I don't like digi's... but I did enjoy using these so maybe things are changing!  They are from Crackerbox Palace. I made an art journal page with a Spanish vineyard feel... I used gesso, pro markers, Indian ink, art bars, spray inks, water colour pencils and metal leaf. Thanks for stopping by!

YES please

Another layout made with the contents of my counterfeit kit ...  This one is for Quirky Crafts Challenges whose theme is food and ribbon - two of my favourite things! I started with my splattered kraft and added some brand new dotty ribbon from Crafty Ribbons .  It has now been released so I can share - it's been hard to keep it to myself.  It's silly how something as simple as white sheer ribbon with multi coloured dots on can make me so happy!!  I also added a puffy sticker. I used another handful of alphas.  I painted them to match the coral dots on the ribbon, which happened to match the cardstock, which happened to match the sorbet in the photo.  I love it when things come together!! And here it is all together... Thanks for stopping by

B+W+1 for Quirky's

Just a super quick post to enter this card... ...into Quirky's Black and White with only a smidge of another colour allowed.  I used some black and white off cuts from my 'use it up' folder where all my scraps go, a bit of my beloved 3mm ribbon and my neon ink pad from Hero Arts. I had a LOT of trouble deciding which colour to add a little bit of... I could make the card twenty times over, each with a different colour, and still not have run out of colours to try!!  :) Thanks for stopping by

Guesting at Quirky's!

I won the chocolate challenge at Quirky Crafts a couple of weeks back and part of the prize is the honour of being guest designer.  Here is my make... The theme is Make A Quirky Mess - right up my street!! Here are a few photos of the layering process.  I meant to take more step by step photos but *sigh* you know how it is...  I just got carried away painting and creating that I completely forgot to stop a take a photo of each layer.  This is a bit of a self portrait really. This little girl [I've renamed her Laura ;)] has painted this canvas and made a hell of a mess whilst she was at it. She used acrylic paints, ink, gesso, mists, oil crayons, mulberry tissue, matte medium and rub ons on the canvas board.     I've coloured the Squigglefly 'digi-me' with watercolour pencils, fuusy cut (but not very fussily looking at the close up!!) and added Crafty Ribbons neon ribbon to her dress and hair.  To make the sel...

Chocolate LO!!!

The challenge at Quirky's this week is Chocolate... In fact 'Life is a quirky box of chocolates' This may be the best challenge EVER!!     This double layout is my homage to chocolate!  I gathered up loads of chocolate stuff that I have.  Wrappers, reciepts, tasting menu, members card, chocolate covered paper, the transparency from inside a box of chocs and two  different ribbon s.  The frame was cut from a magazine advert for a framing company.       Also linking up with APR Thanks for stopping by  :)

Guest Spot at Quirky's!

Very exciting! Today I am guest designer at Quirky Crafts .  The theme is set by Lyn and is Christmas in July. Cazzy told me she would send me some digi's and all I had to do was make a project and send a pic to her.  Panic.  I've never used digi's.  I'm not one for colouring in with pro markers and I don't like the cutsie images that I think of as digi's.  So I was really happy when the images from Stitchy Bear  came through.  A lovely holly bough and a snowflake.  Brilliant.  I set to work... ...And came up with this... A small holly wreath decoration.  I printed off a page of hollys and coloured them with pro markers.  (Don't look too closely at the colouring ;) )  Then I fussy cut them out and attached them to a ring of card.  I covered the printed bows with seam binding bows from Crafty Ribbons . I curved the paper and pulled the leaves over the seam binding to give lots of dimensio...
