Sparkly Lollies

Love a bit of frivolity? This creation with August's Glittery Hands Box should suit you then!  Very sparkly, very positive and very fun. What else do you do with glittery felt, a cute positive sentiment stamp and glittery cardstock?! Thanks for looking!

Father & Son

This month The Sparklers are working with circle and sketches... The first sketch is from Laura Whitaker and was easy to scale back to my minimal style. I was incredibly lucky to be gifted a Lottie Loves Paper voucher and bought a couple of packs of stickers from the new 1canoe2 range, and they formed the colour scheme for this layout. The sequins are Puppy Dog Tails and Road Trips & Sunshine from the newest release.  This mustard colour is my 'thing' at the moment.  I'm wearing it daily and sneaking it on to as many projects as possible - it's my new neon!! Thanks for looking!

Scraplifting Kat

This week at SpiegelMom Scraps we are scraplifting Kat Benjamin .  I found a layout I loved and set to work... As Kat is a member of Pretty Little Studios design team it made sense to pull a few of my PLS goodies out too!  I have used some labels, alpha tiles and printed acetate. The grey patterned paper is from Pink Fresh and I have been hoarding it!! I added a few felt hearts and some Honour Guard sequins from SpiegelMom's. And finished it off with the perfect flair from Bramble Fox! Thanks for looking!

Bunny Butt Bunting

UK Scrap Addicts gave away a cute free cut file on Thursday.  It's designed by my friend Emma and she called it Bunny Butt - what's not to love?! I set my Silhouette Cameo to cut a warren of rabbits and set about making some bunting for Easter. I started off with my ribbon - Swiss Dots Organza ribbon in a colourway exclusive to Crafty Ribbons.  I matched my watercolours to the dots on the ribbon and messily splashed paint over the bunnies.  When that was dry I splattered a load of gold ink over them.  It kind of looks like the mottled eggshells on Mini Eggs! I pulled a few felt hearts from SpiegelMom Scraps and a handful of paperclips and clipped the bunnies at a regular-ish distance apart across the ribbon.  Really simple.  Well, I struggled with a few of the paperclips, actually, but it should have been simple!! I don't have a good place to hang bunting to photograph it, so this is the best I can offer for a hanging photo... You...

uksa daff

UK Scrap Addicts had a freebie cut file last week... pop over here to see it and download it!  I've had a play and come up with this... I coloured the cut file with Mister Huey's - the green is called 'Doris'!  It is, without a doubt, the best named ink spray in my collection!  Sequins and felt hearts from SpiegelMom Scraps. I've had this photo ready to scrap since 2015 and I thought the daffs matched it perfectly. The spoon and fork are part of the date stamp.  As soon as I'd stamped it I regretted it - it was so black.  I usually use a grey ink pad.  To balance out the black and make it look like it belonged I added some more stamping, a label and a black pen doodle border. When I stood back and had I look I realised everything was skewiff so I trimmed the white to make the title horizontal and backed the page with black. It's not what I intended to make but I love it nonetheless! Thanks for stopping by!

SpiegelMom Scraps Hop

Hey guys, are you ready for a special blog hop! SpiegelMom Scraps and The Sparklers are very excited to be joining up with Accents Scrapbooking this month!  We have all followed this sketch from Laura Whitaker... I pulled out some felt hearts , doily , and sequins from my SpiegelMom stash and started playing... I sprayed my white felt hearts with green mist. Had a play with my sewing machine... channelled grass green throughout the entire layout... and generally had a good time! Here's the finished layout: Thanks so much! Now you’re off to Felicia’s blog.  If you get lost or want to see the entire line up ...

Advent Calendar and GIVEAWAY!

As promised I am back with my second handcrafted Advent Calendar of the season.  You can see the first one, made for Crafty Ribbons, here . This one uses supplies from SpiegelMom Scraps, Crafty Ribbons, older supplies from my stash and a handy cardboard box! Each of the 24 glassine bags have been carefully numbered and decorated and more importantly filled with a little craft treat! They've then been mixed up and displayed in a converted box just waiting for December's arrival. There is a lovely mix of goodies from some of my favourite shops; like for ever, SpiegelMom Scraps, Shimmerz, Chloe Suzanne Designs, Crafty Ribbons, Derwent... all perfect for a crafter or scrapbooker. And I am giving it away to one of my Instagram followers!   If you'd like to be in the draw please comment on the photo on Instagram ( here ) and follow me.  You can spread the love and tag your friends too - each tag will count as another entry.  I'm also aware that some ...

A Double Pager

Stick It Down have a card sketch, a single page scrapbook sketch and a double page scrapbook sketch each month.  I have designed the sketches for the cards and some of the single page sketches but always shied away from double pages.  However the team is a member or two down and I've given it a whirl to make up the numbers.  Here is the sketch for October... I am using supplies from my Counterfeit Kit ... And here is what I came up with. I trimmed down two pockets so I could use the layout of the sketch as is.  I switched the stars to hearts and played fast and loose with the title placement! H is for Herbert!  Everything painted has been done with Daniel Smith watercolours, everything else was pulled to match. These hearts are the main feature for me.  A little bit of wisdom - cutting thick watercolour paper with a craft knife is not fun!  But I do like how it all turned out.  You can watch the process here (I edited ou...

NOW AND THEN

For this week's SpiegelMom Scraps DT post I am taking on fellow Sparkler Felicia's September challenge .  Felicia set a really fun challenge - something old and something new - with the added twist of an old photo and a new photo, too.  Now you understand the title NOW AND THEN, huh? I used the new heart felties and September's cut file freebie as my new elements.  And all the patterned papers are from my old box of papers.  At least one company no longer exists! The photos are of my brother with my Dad in 1985 and my brother with his son this year.  I have to say, I would never have put these photos together if it hadn't been for the challenge.  I adore how it has turned out so think I need to do some more challenges!  Link me up to your favourites please? I super-sized the scribbly rings cut file and backed each opening with the patterned papers pulled from my stash. I love how it looks.  I cut a bunch of the smaller fil...

clouds above you

Today I am sharing a little art journal page for Crafty Ribbons .  I love to use up my ribbon scraps in my art journal... Other ingredients include gelatos, Shimmerz Dazzlerz, a heart stencil from a previous like for ever kit, liquitex acrylic ink, and some felt clouds... I find writing quite hard, a combination of the M.E. and years of thinking I was no good at English at school, so I just wrote some lyrics from a song that summed up what I was feeling and thinking.  The song is Somewhere Someday by NSync. So this goes to show even teeny tiny pieces of ribbon can still be used!  If you like what you see here I have used;  Volcan Lace , Cotton ribbon , 3mm grosgrain , and both sides of Carry On Baking ribbon . Thanks for stopping by!
