Pretty My Page | Rescuing a Bad Cut!

We’ve all been there I’m sure.   The machine is set to cut, it’s whirring away and doing its magic and then you do it.   You knock the machine.   Sigh!   I knocked it badly on this occasion and nudged the cutting mat off course.   I paused the machine, cancelled the cut, unloaded the mat and went about trying to salvage what I could. It was about half cut so I took a straight line across the page, at a slight angle to maximum the amount of the cut file I could save.   I stuck the large piece to my background and added in the smaller pieces using the scrap of half cut file as a guide as to where the pieces needed to go.   I then had a 12x12 with half a cut file ready to go as a background for a layout. All that and I haven’t even mentioned what cut file I have used yet!   This is (half of!) Brolly Jolly.   You can buy the digi download here and purchase the pre-cut here . The rest of the layout went without a hitch.   I gathered supplies...

Scrapbooking | Green and Black

I joined in with some challenges run in the For The Love Of Pretty Paper facebook group reccently.  There was a crop themed around chocolate... I'm a big fan of chocolate!  This layout was for the Green and Black challenge. I've used some bunting pennants I had left over from a previous Pretty My Page project.  Pretty much everything else is from my Quirky Kits, I think. I used some black embossing powder over an Amy Tangerine die cut.  I must do this more often as it looks amazing! Whizzed up some bunting on my sewing machine and added doodling... and finished off with thread tangles and enamel dots. I do love a limited colour palette layout! Linking up at Inspire Me Mondays

Scrap Squad | L

I'm sharing another Scrap Squad lift from last weekend.  This is a take on a Sarah Jayne layout.  You might know SJ as Mrs Lottie Loves Paper... and on that note Lottie Loves paper are having a Cyber Crop this weekend. Pretty much everything on this layout is Pretty Little Studio/Zinia Redo.  The majority is from her first collection with a few heart stickers added from her second collection. You can't beat a bit of rainbow stitching!  Plus I have to justify having SO many threads - I need them to match all of the papers! Same goes for enamel dots!  I'm low on blue enamel dots so I'm seeking a mixed pack of blues... give a shout if you know of a pack as so far I've not found any. Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbooking | Yesse Dohn

Today's layout uses mainly Field Trip from Shimelle.  I had to add in some smaller alphas (Pink Fresh puffies to the rescue!  It's these puffy alphas or Pretty Little Studio's tile alphas that are my go to supply) as the thickers that match the paper were just too big. This layout started with some die cut circles left over from my recent camera layout .  They were the negative parts of the Pretty My Page cut file .  From there I went with the spotty paper and then the name badge which perfectly matched the story I wanted to tell. I added a few bits and bobs from the ephemera and sticker sheet. I thought I had finished but after a look and a think I decided to pick out some more stickers to add.  A few circles from an old Pretty Little Studio collection made a lot of difference. I finished off by sewing through anything that was sewable! Here's the process video: Thanks for looking!

Christmas ATC's IV

These ATC's were assembled with a 'let's use all the shiny things' attitude! Sequins, foiled doilys, glossy accents highlighting baubles on a wooden Christmas tree button...  More sequins and a foiled flair...  It says 'jingle all the way' but it was so shiny I had trouble photographing it!! Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty My Page | Munch

I saw this Corn On The Cob file by Paige Evans and knew I had the perfect photo to go with it.  You can purchase the file pre-cut on black, white or cream card here . I coloured my cob with a mix of Shimmerz paints in yellows and greens.  My top tip for colouring cut files is if it starts to look weak and flimsy don’t try to pick it up.  Leave it flat and let it dry naturally and the integrity of the card will firm up again.  If you try and move the card whilst it is sodden with paint the chances are it will tear or rip. I recently went through all of my white cardstock scraps and patch worked together some 12x12 sheets.  I use about 10 different shades and textures of white card so I made sure to mix up the scraps and I have 6 sheets of eclectic card with a tonne of interest and texture which make perfect backgrounds for my simple and minimal scrap style. I used one of the seams on the background as a guide to add my title... I call it ...

PMP

Here are a couple of my Pretty My Page layouts for this month. This first one uses the Pansy cut file cut on ombre paper from Hobbycraft. There is stencilling in the background done with Distress Oxides , texture paste and a Skull and Cross Buns stencil. The layout is completed with some pretty flair and sequins. This next layout features a Paige Evans folding cut file. I've used my distress oxides and blending tools for this one too. I've run the folded hearts through the sewing machine to secure them open. Added splatters, sequins, flair, stickers, thread tangles - all of the good stuff! I had almost as much fun as Henley when she was eating her peas!!

Dream Big | Love Me Granny | Teddy's Travels

Another trio of recent layouts... I've had my Minc out and been playing with the reactive mist.  It's not a fine mist, it rather squirts out, but the effect when it is foiled is amazing. I'm trying to make a dent in my puffy stickers.  I bought several packs of hearts and stars and really haven't used them to their best.  I still struggle putting lots of something on one layout, presumably because of the expense or not wanting to waste them.  The thing is neither of these arguments hold up if they sit in a box and don't get used at all!  Ditto the above replacing puffy stickers with flair! Love me some layers!  Just small ones though so we don't cover up too much of the foiling! This layout started off with the blue background but I couldn't work it... With 5 photos too much of the foiling was covered however I shuffled the photos and laid them out. So I switched to a white background and was much happier with how it look...

Big Fun | Happy | Love This

I have a trio of layouts using Pretty My Page cut files today. This first one features a Paige Evans cut file which you can buy as a pre-cut i.e. you don't need your own machine to scrap like this.  PMP do the cutting, the weeding, all the hard work!  This file is called Ferris Wheel .  The layout is quite simply because when you have a large file it does a lot of the heavy lifting for you.  I've stuck to just white and blue for this layout... I added my colour with layers, stickers, inky splatters and alphas. In fact, all of these layouts pretty much stick to white and blue... This cut file is called  Diagonal Stars Pocket Filler and was designed as a Christmas file to be used in a 6x8 December daily album.  Well, you know I don't do what I'm meant to... I cut it on a gorgeous watercolour print patterned paper from Cocoa Vanilla - not remotely Christmassy - at 9x12.  It works perfectly at this size.  I love to h...
