Stick It Down | StickerKitten | PLAY

Here's my take on this month's Stick It Down sketch... I've used papers from StickerKitten , mists from Shimmerz along with one colour shine and some freebie acrylic stamps. I am really not a fan of acrylic stamps.  Photopolymer or rubber are brilliant - I have never had a decent impression with acrylics.  I persevered with these and got something that was OK for background interest.   As you'll see in the video I cut these banner clusters twice.  The first set were perfectly even fishtails... but too big so I trimmed them down.  My trimming was not as precise so I'll say I was going for the wonky look!  Here's the video: Hope to see you over at Stick It Down

Throwback | hello CAKE

Still going with the unshared layouts found in my drafts folder.  2018 me is such a bad blogger! I think pretty much all of the supplies are from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. The blue looks like Dazzlerz from Shimmerz.  I no longer have any as it takes eons to dry... but it does look good! Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbooking | Snug

I have gone way overboard on photos for this layout but it seems kind of fitting.  I have gone way overboard (for me, for my usual) on the layout too! This is version 3.0!  It evolved a lot as I was working.  I was so into the process I don't think it has ever taken me so long to create a layout!  Where to start?  The cut files.  There are two cut files stacked together.  I drew them up in procreate and cut them out of kraft with my Silhouette Cameo. The pine branches (underneath) were sprayed with a few green and brown inks.  The holly and ivy branches were backed with patterned papers.  People say it is hard to match greens.  I wholeheartedly ignore this and put as many greens together as possible whenever possible.  I think I have 8 shades on this layout and that makes me happy! Let's talk dimension.  There is a LOT!  The pine branches have naturally curled with the moisture of the ink sprays.  The ...

Scrapbooking | FTLOPP

Happy New Year!  What better way to start than by kicking depression in the butt and scrapbooking? I've been joining in with the FTLOPP Birthday Party challenges.  This one is 'use lots of a single embellishment' - I plumped for paper stars. This layout uses some of what I think is my oldest paper.  It's from Studio Calico circa 2012.  Just a tiny bit left now which will go in my scraps box. The feature of the layout is these origami stars.  I was inspired by Morag who recently used some on a layout.  The tutorial she followed is here .  When I try a new origami pattern I see how small I can make it.  I got to a finished size of 16mm... I attempted one that was 15mm but it really didn't have the definition or crispness.  Paper folding is also the theme of the month at UKSA so it ties in nicely with that too. Supplies are pretty minimal besides the patterned paper.  Less but chosen well, I hope.  Gold Shimmerz p...

Pretty My Page | Holly

Hop over here for more details on this Christmas card...

Hythe Beach

Here is the second of my layouts for StickerKitten using Mermaid Treasures .  This one uses the negatives from the digital die cut I used in the last layout . I used a few mists from Shimmerz for the background.  There was lots of splattering and a little bit of the packaging technique. For the layering behind the photos I used the 6x6 papers from the collection.  There are 2 packs of paper to choose from. And to finish I added some sequins - also part of the collection - which perfectly coordinate. Thanks for looking!

shining star

I used to have wax crayons as a kid.  I don't remember them being quite this much fun though... You can watch me playing here: Here is the finished layout... I left the rest of the layout pretty simple so the focus could be shared between the photo and the background. I used a sparkly silver acrylic piece as my title.  This 'Shining Star' is one of the acrylic embellishments that Skull And Cross Buns currently have on offer.  Check them out here . I'm off to see what other childhood favourites I can rediscover! Thanks for stopping by!

Touched By Sunshine

Here is the next installment in my Pretty Little Studio guest designer stint.  I was sent Zinia'sSunny Memories to work with and have been having so much fun! This layout was a right pickle to make.  What was in my head did not turn out well so, as you'll see in the video, parts were pulled off and set to the side... I am happy with the final layout though.  The flowers in the kit are great shapes and colours. It is very subtle but I added some texture paste through a stencil from Skull And Cross Buns in the background.  It shows better in real life than it does in the photos. The parts that were ripped off the layout found a new home on a card... I added some paper inside the envelope and a little flourish inside the card too. Thanks for stopping by... Here's the process video: Supplies used: Die-Cuts | Sunny Mix Die-Cuts | Fresh Phrases Stickers | Floral Bits Outlines | Clear Stickers | Floral Bits Pack...

Glittery Hands Box - June

Sharing a layout made with my June Glittery Hands Box today... Check out the write up over on the Glittery Hands Box blog!

Stick It Down for May

I've recovered mostly from labyrinthitis now (but hurt my back!  D'oh!) so it really is time to catch up with blogging... Here is my take on Stick It Down 's May sketch. The sketch was made very much with mixed media in mind and that is the route I took.  It also looks fab made up with sections of patterned papers - I reckon this sketch will work with most styles.  I've used black and white and supplies from Freckled Fawn and Feed My Craft.  I hope you can find time to squeeze in this sketch and share it over at Stick It Down .  There is a Freckled Fawn prize up for grabs! Oh, I almost forgot... here's the process video!

NSD Be Cray!

I have been using all my energy on NSD (National Scrapbooking Day) for the last couple of weeks.  Sourcing prizes and sponsors, making graphics and samples, drafting posts and brainstorming.  I'm knackered! Any way, what I mean to say is I have quite a lot of creations I haven't yet shared so get ready for a slew of posts! Today I am on the Glittery Hands Box blog with this layout... Please pop over and hae a look.  While you are there check out the previous post which is also one of my creations... I've loved the first kit of my DT term.  Right now I'm counting down the days to the next box!

Stick It Down

Don't you just love a set of ridiculous photos?  Ha! Here is my layout for Stick It Down ... I was pretty faithful to the sketch... The photo sequence shows me attempting to get a new headshot.  Utter madness!  My face makes weird shapes... The teeny tiny paperclips are from Doodlebug, mixed media stuff from Shimmerz and Liquitex.  The borders a re a free cut file from UK Scrap Addicts. Fancy joining us at Stick It Down this month? See you there...
