Lottie Loves Paper | Think Happy

Atchoo!  Oh, sorry.  I see to have sneezed stickers across my page! I like how it turned out, don't get me wrong!  I think I'm calling this a controlled sticker sneeze.  It is literally just stickers - all from Lottie Loves Paper's Think Happy kit - and a few enamel dots/shapes from my stash.  Each carefully placed inspired by an old sketch of mine. This may have started as a sticker busting exercise... total fail.  There are still loads of stickers left from the kit!  I was a little surprised actually.  This is layout number 7 using the kit and it's not even close to being finished.  I'm beginning to think it will streatch to at least that number again. Thanks for stopping by!

Lottie Loves Paper | Think Happy

I'm having a lot of fun with the Think Happy kit from Lottie Loves Paper.  Here are two recent layout/video combos... I'm absolutely crazy for this patterned paper... the green with dots is beautiful but more importantly there are birds on the other side!!  I have a few sheets so I sacrificed one sheet for the green side.  Truth be told I'm not ready to cut the birds up! And the second... This one stars rainbows fussy cut from an Amy Tangerine paper. And cute puffy sticker animals from Paige Evans.  Thanks for stopping by!

Round Up | August Layouts

Epic picture post coming up!  Here are all the layouts I made in August...  Brusho, sewing and sequins for Lottie Loves Paper.  Mixed media for Lottie Loves Paper.  SickerKitten Pretty Stitches.  StickerKitten Seaside Dreams.  Using Simon Says Stamp Panda die.  Shimelle's Field Trip collection for Lottie Loves Paper.  Layout for Paige Evans Facebook challenge.  Dippy Dippy Dippy. Layout with Lottie Love's Paper 'Think Happy' kit.

Home Grown

For my second guest designer layout for Lottie Loves Paper I took inspiration from Scrap Our Stash .  I went for the left hand coloumn of their tic-tac-toe board - red, camera and wood. The layout mainly uses Tealightful from Pebbles with a little Pink Paislee Oh My Heart.  I've also added in some rose gold SpiegelMom Scraps sequins to match the foiled chipboard from Paige Evans.  The layout documents my strawberry plant... it's not a good cropper!  I think we only keep it for amusement value!! I have a couple more layouts to come from this 'little' kit so stay tuned! Thanks for stopping by!

Love to capture the moment

I found this post languishing in my drafts...  it's from early March, I think, hopefully not early February! I made this one for a challenge on the Lottie Loves Paper facebook group.  There were a few ingredients on a recipe - tag, yellow, 3 patterned papers, sequins, flair/button. I used my like for ever kit and a cut file from Just Nick.  Each of the sections of the cut file was backed with a different piece of patterned paper - I usually just cut and stick but I spent time choosing exactly which colour/pattern I wanted showing in each section! Sequins are SpiegelMom Scraps My Clementine and What's Up Buttercup.  The flair is from Accent Scrapbooking.  I have a bit of a thing about buying flair but very rarely use them - naughty!  I will make an effort to use flair on layouts for the next month... you'll have to hold me accountable, dear readers! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Friday

Back with my third DT piece using like for ever's March kit Keepsake... This time I went through and pulled out all the black and white papers and ephemera. I do love a monochrome layout.  I had a few gold accents and used some teal hidden away in a journaling pocket. I'm not a confident journaler so hiding away my words is one of my go-to techniques.  The envelopes in this month's kit are perfect for that!  As I was nearing completing the layout I thought it needed something extra so I added three tangles of thread... You can watch the layout come together:

{WAKEY WAKEY}

Some of the like for ever crew are away on a retreat this weekend, the lucky ducks!  We are also running challenges in our facebook subscribers group... This is the inspiration board for yesterdays challenge: I have matched the three colours as best as I can, and also taken note of the 'always you' and the bathroom (although my bathroom is a lot less luxurious!) and scrapped a photo of me being very me!  I'm yawning and in my jimmiejams. I pulled out my purple Dazzlerz and mixed some with a dot of black ink to darken it down.  I used my ruler to smear it on to the page.  I love doing this but you get the best effects with one drag - I want to carry on playing and end up over working it! I also used some 'Oh say can you sea' and Mr Huey's Orchard inks to add splatters.  I have all my colours swatched in a book so I can see which will match my project. I added a small cluster to the bottom right to balance out the photo on the top left. ...

Banners and Bunting

Hey there!  I'm on the SpiegelMom Scraps blog today with this little layout... You can watch the process here: And pop over to the SMS blog for the write up! Thanks for stopping by!

You Inspire Me Everyday

I had a bit of a crazy weekend in terms of DT projects.  This one didn't make it to my blog... like for ever hold a couple of retreats each year.  As I am unable to make them I hijack the subscribers group and hold a virtual retreat for the members who aren't at the crop. This challenge was to use 'you inspire me everyday' as the focus of your layout. The majority of supplies are from the like for ever March kit, with just a touch of ribbon and a few sequins thrown in, and some white scraps rescued from the recycling. I love the soft floaty feeling of the colour palette.  Combined with the glitter dot acetate and the iridescent star sequins this rockets to the top 10 layouts list! Thanks for stopping by!

2nd cousins

Hi there, I'm on the like for ever blog today...  I've been stamping on vellum! I'm not the greatest stamper but I'll share the tips I have picked up... 1. take your time - there is no rush 2. put some padding underneath the surface you are stamping on - I use a piece of foam 3. push firmly all over the stamp block to ensure a good impression and give the ink time to transfer also, you'll see when you watch the video that I'm speaking from experience, don't absentmindedly place the inky stamp face down on your paper/vellum!  Sigh!! But it turned out OK in the end.  I used the vellum to make a giant shaker pocket and filled it with  Rockin' Pink Ombre from SpiegelMom Scraps. I featured the rosette from the cut apart sheet and added a hand cut title.  I added matching ribbons from Crafty Ribbons . Here's the video: Thanks for stopping by!

YOU

Hey there, today's SpiegelMom Scraps project features a Dazzlerz/sequins combo... If you are not a fan of sticking sequins on individually I highly recommend this technique!  Spread a layer of Dazzlerz (or Pasteez - note to self: must do this with Pasteez soon!) and while it is still wet sprinkle on some sequins.  You can choose to gently push them in with your fingertips, but I've found these little stars don't need any encouragement to stick. I made a photo collage in PicMonkey of the same photo repeated three times, two in black and white and one in colour.  Under the black and white photos I added some black acrylic ink and some black sugar paper torn from a sketchbook.  Under the coloured photo I added some vellum and Red-iculous Dazzlerz and Gold Stardust. For a few extra details, I added a couple of labels and short title.  Again I kept the colour to one side and black and white on the other.  I also added a few gold stardust sequins to...

Special Seagulls

I'm up on the like for ever blog today sharing this layout featuring Sami Hyypia - my fave ever footballer and my nephew! Not at all jealous that he got a cuddle and I didn't!  Hee hee! You see all of that bunting?  That is made from the alphas included in the kit.  I didn't particularly like them so transformed them into something I would use.  Much better than letting them go to waste! I did a little bit of stamping... well, one tiny little stamp!  I feature the rubber stamps from the kit more heavily in my next DT piece.  I'm not the greatest stamper but the labels are very cute I will try to include them in a few more layouts. Here's the video: Thanks for stopping by!
