Gingerbread Jar

Guess who's been having fun..? Me!  I made this jar up with some kitchen staples and some Gingerbread House ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. So.  Much.  Fun!! I nabbed the recipie from Auntie Beeb - link - but added in some smarties to decorate with. I added in some green seam binding and some red heart lace . Thanks for looking!

Nativity

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, in every shop you see.  It's too early for me, I'd prefer a ban until November!  But hey, that's not how it works... Crafty Ribbons have three new Christmas ranges for this year, Nativity being the first release. Thanks for stopping by! p.s. I hope you sung the first line of this blog post!!

Baby Gifts

I am up on the Crafty Ribbons Inspiration site today sharing a cute new baby gift set.  Pop over here to see what handmade gift is in the package!!

Favourite Things

My favourite things about Christmas are Carols From Kings (a televised Carol Service) and - now don't laugh, I know it's really trivial - gift wrapping!  As I am setting the theme for Crafty Ribbons Challenges this week I have chosen Favourite Things About Christmas.  Your project must include your favourite thing from the festive season. One of my favourites this year is this parcel wrapped in decadent wide grosgrain with a matching tag and 3mm ribbon. But my project for this weeks challenge is this... There will be some coffee addicts out there who can tell what is inside from the shape of the package!!  I simply wrapped in maroon tissue and wrapped some Vintage Christmas ribbon around.  Handily it is exactly the right width. Then I whizzed up a couple of tags using paper and cut files from like for ever's Wish List kit and my sewing machine. I attached the tags by winding some 3mm grosgrain around the present a few times and tying in a bo...

Wrapping it up...

Can I share a whole bunch of wrapping ideas with you?  These are what I gave last year... Bundle two presents to the same person together with cord and add a candy cane to the knot. Pair simple gold tissue with ribbon with festive designs on them - I went with owls for my Mum. For a bottle tie a couple of ribbons around the neck of the bottle adding bells to the end of the ribbon for more festive fun! For a jar again I added bells but on a wide metallic ribbon. Here I matched the pattern on the paper to the motif on the ribbon .  This is especially apt as the ribbon says 'Have a yummy Christmas' and the present is chocolate. There is of course, the standard ribbon round and a bow - it never fails! Even a gift card in an envelope can be jazzed up with ribbon and a candy cane tucked in to the knot. Or how about going over board on tiny presents such as jewellery boxes.  Use a nice wide ribbon and tie a bow bigger than t...

Advent - Day 21

I made this tin up for Crafty Ribbons Advent with the intention of making something to put inside it.  Unfortunately I haven't been well enough.  However the tin will keep until next year... I made a rosette from some wide sheer organza ribbon , stuck a disc of card and a felt die cut on top and added a bit of bling edge 3mm . Simples! Entering at: our creative corner

Advent - Day 17

I jazzed up this tin from last year... perfect for filling with chocolates or macaroons or something yummy... using satin ribbon As always pop over to the Inspirations site to see what the rest of the team have been up to x

Advent Event - Day 4

Good Morning!  Nice and early for Crafty Ribbons Advent Celebrations... Day four's make is an altered cardboard box bag... I used my gelli plate and a Ronda Palazzari stencil.  The bag came free with a Christmas craft magazine.  As a gelli plate newbie my initial thought was gather as many different surfaces as possible and see what you can actually print on... turns out pretty much everything including flat gift boxes  :) I jazzed the box up with some snowman ribbon,   I didn't think it needn't much else as it so textured and yummy! I'd like to share this at avenue 613 Thanks so much for stopping by and being part of Crafty Ribbons Advent

Advent - Day 1

Woohoo!!  Let's start December with lots of happiness and smiles. It is the first day of Ali's Advent Event , you can join us every day in the countdown to Christmas.  We have loads of projects to share with you. The first project I am sharing is the advent calendar I started in October...   It has landed in Ireland and my friend was thrilled.  Makes all the needles in fingers worth it.   All the fabric was recycled from a canvas wardrobe that my brother had years ago.    I added in some Christmas Owls ribbon and a few buttons .     I edged a few rows of pockets with lace in matching colours. The numbers are laser cut wood that I got from the Craft Barn a few years back.  It has taken me that long to get around to using them!  I stamped them with a polka dot stamp and heat embossed them gold.  It wasn't a clean stamp, or the numbers were too static, so some of them numbers are totally cov...
