Card Making | Altenew's Colour Challenge

I was rather taken with this month's Altenew colour challenge - greens and yellows are my favourite and the pink was tolerable as an accent!  (Haha, if you're new here, I'm not a fan of pink to the point that it's become a bit of a joke now!)       I pulled out my Altenew leafy die set that really doesn't see enough use and decided to make a piece of mixed media card to die cut.  I've been asked for a tutorial and I thought this was the perfect opportunity...   As with so many ideas this one looked better in my head.  The texture on the mixed media piece got lost as the dies had all the fabulous apperture detail built in.  Any way, it's a great card, just not what it looked like in my head and not the tutorial I was after!  It will follow at some point... I popped the leaves up on a couple of layers of dragonfruit cardstock and placed them on top of a touch of ink blending.  I finished up with a small sentiment in the matc...

Stick It Down

Here's my layout for Stick It Down's August single page sketch. Here's the sketch... I have adapted it to work on an A4 layouts and flipped it to work better with my photo. You can catch the process video here: https://youtu.be/dTX8Tc7eZzg I've used the collaboration collection from Altenew and Pinkfresh Studio.  I loved the two leaf line drawing die cuts - two wasn't enough for me though, so I doodled and fussy cut a few extras! I used a background cut file that I designed and backed it with a multicoloured paper.  I love the apricot colouring in this collection!

Scrap Squad | Scraplifting Emilie Chamel

Scrap Squad have been running a free cyber crop this weekend.  This layout is a scraplift of Emilie Chamel... I have used plain cardstock, inks and stamps... that is all.  I've been telling myself I need to incorporate more stamping into my layouts and this one takes it to the extreme! I've used some Concord & 9th, Crafty Jen Schow and Cocoa Vanilla Studio sets along with Altenew warm grey ink pads.  I'm awaiting the Pink Fresh ink cubes arrival in the UK - they are my Christmas present but have been out of stock for sooooo long!  When they arrive I'll be able to add more colour. Having said that I do love a monochromatic layout!  There are four shades of grey, black and the white of the card. Hey Little Magpie are running a challenge this month to use more than 5 stamps on a layout.  I've done that and some... I think there are 18 individual stamps used. Thanks for stopping by!

World Card Making Day

It was world card making day yesterday and I spent the day away from social media watching sport and happily crafting. Here are the fruits of my labour playtime... This one is made with Shimmerz, Altenew inks and W+9 stamps... This one is based on a Sandy Allnock sketch and uses a Concord and 9th stamp set and my Daniel Smith watercolours. And another with that same stamp set... because who can use a stamp once and put it away?! These two are are made with distress oxides, watercolour, inks... anything else I could find to throw at the paper and Pink Fresh Studio dies.   That's where I left it yesterday.  Today I decided to make the full colour card into a shaker card and also added sequins to the other card. Good fun!  Now I need to tidy up... Thanks for stopping by!
