A Green and Blue Hello

I've made this card for the challenges at Less Is More and CAS-ual Fridays .  LIM set the sketch and CF set the colour pallet. Let me know what you think...

Happy Birthday

Over at CASual Fridays the challenge is Let's Strip.  Ooh-er!! Glad they clarified it with 'use strips of colour or pattern in your clean and simple design' I'm in need of a card for a soon to be 17 year old boy (man? boy?) so clean and simple, bright colours and nothing fru fru was the plan... I used three strips of brightly coloured ribbon and attached them with brads.  Very simple!  But masculine, colourful and well, hopefully not uncool, or whichever word they are using these days... (I sound like a Granny saying things like this.  In reality there is only a 10 year gap between us.  I just don't understand the language they use!) Thanks for stopping by!

Starry and Blue

Can I mention the C word in July?!  It seems that crafters are the only ones who are OK with it... everyone else shouts or tuts! Here is my first Christmas card of the year. I stamped and embossed this Christmas sentiment. 'May the love that was born that Christmas night light all your days with joy and hope' And then masked it off. I have used my newly acquired cut n dry and some cyan ink pads to 'blue up' the card stock and then randomly stamped stars.  I also used a white in pad that is really pearly and shiny. I'm going to link this card up with: Lollipop Crafts - Christmas in July The Crafters Cafe - Christmas in July - Non traditional colours CASE study - Layout, stars and colour inspiration CASual Fridays - 'Text Me'  Thanks for stopping by!

CAS? II

After a really flat sleepy week I made a couple of cards today... They both fit with CASEStudy (design) and CASual Fridays (two circles) and I'm also going to enter them into Crafty Ribbons (clean and simple). I intended the buttons to be my two circles.  I layered them up with glue gel to give good dimension. I used washi for the grid lines on the card.  I used the offcuts of washi to brighten up the inside of the card... they looked like little flag pennants... and I can't bear to watse anything!! The letter stickers are circles too... so I guess I ended up with 7 circles instead of two... Now I'm really confused about the term Clean And Simple. What does it actually mean? How clean? How simple? How much 'stuff' is allowed? I'm going to go ahead and enter them and see what you think... comments on the cards and the whole Clean and Simple concept gratefully recieved!!

CAS? I

After a really flat, sleepy week I made a couple of cards today... They both fit with CASEStudy and CASual Fridays (two circles) and I'm also going to enter them into Crafty Ribbons (clean and simple).  Neon washi - my new favourite toy!! A couple of buttons attached with glue gel. Three thank yous.  Q:  When you use multiple cling stamps in a cluster like this do you put them all on one block and use it as one stamp or do you stamp each one individually?  The middle stamp is one from a Docrafts Marie Curie set from a few years back and the other two are bananafrog stamps from different sets.  The middle stamp seemed a tiny bit thinner than the other two and I think, in hindsight, I should have stamped it seperately to make it look its best. A peek at the leftovers jazzing up the inside of the card. The black and white washi is actually cut in half.  At it's full width it would have been too wide so I...

Balloons!!

It is my friend's 30th.  I don't know if she is going to be enjoy turning 30 or if she is going to freak out.  I wanted to make a card that would be OK for both situations. 30 balloons - one for each year or a birthday card with some balloons I punched out the balloons from random scraps of coloured paper.  Drew the strings with a fine liner.  Glued the balloons at the top of the strings.  Very taxing!!  ;) I'm entering this in to CAS-ual Fridays  challenge - punchy.

3 Flutterbys on a Card

This is what came from today's playtime... It is a combination of three challenges... CASE Study - Take inspiration from Aga's fab card.  (3 butterflies, green, lace, sentiment banner) CAS-ual Fridays - Punchy (I punched out the butterflies, I left lots of white space and kept it clean and simple) Cute Card Thursday - Touch of sparkle (I blinged up the butterflies! ...and I think butterflies are cute, does that count??!) I inked the edges of the card and the sentiment banner. The lace is from Crafty Ribbons (who, by the way, are running a Best of British fortnight with loads of giveaways) I'm quite pleased with today.  A fun time crafting and then a snooze while the glue dried!  :) Thanks for stopping by...

Spotty, Dotty and Yellow

I'm so loving working with yellow!  Here is my second yellow card for Less is More . I've combined the sketch from Retro Sketches , the yellow from Less is More , and included a Happy Birthday for Casual Fridays . I've inked the edges of my papers with canary yellow ink.  I used swiss dots grosgrain ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. Happy Birthday peel off for Casual Fridays - Happy Birthday Guys!! I've made a slit in the spine of the card and looped the ribbon through.  I've hidden the join underneath the bow.
