Scrapbooking | Rainbow Colours

Man, I love these inks.  I think it's the colour range and the juicy-but-crisp ink formulation.  They are so easy to get perfect impressions with - and I'm not a naturally able stamper! I've paired the inks with a Pink Fresh stamp and die set and colourmatched threads. I swiped the ink pads across the page and added fancy stitching in a tone on tone fashion. I coloured up some Elle's Studio alpha stickers to match and looked through a million sequins to find the right colours! The central flower in the stamped clusters was clling out for a little extra colour so I pulled out my Polychromos pencils.  I also added in a few embellishments from Colour Cast Designs. Epic Easter Post!

I'm squeezing all of this years Easter creations in to this post... First up this little scene feayuring stamps from Skull and Cross Buns, distress oxide inks and a bunny shaped cookie cutter. Such a fun piece to create!  Next up cards and stamped images... These are made using new Skull and Cross Buns stamp sets and the new Card Kit. The card kit is a new venture for SACB and I think it is great value.  I still have plenty left for more creations. Let's face it.  These stamps are just plain cute!  I ran out of time to make them all into Easter cards for this year. And finally an Ester banner... This banner template is a digital downlaod from Prettty My Page.  I've cut it on card that matched the colours of acrylic emnellishments in the SACB card kit. I kept them embellishing fairly simple, just nestling the acrlic on to a thread tangle and popping a few sequins around the pennants. I'll be loathed to ta...

Dream Big

Every StickerKitten collection comes with kraft and black patterned papers.  My initial reaction to them was 'I wonder if you can foil them?'  Well, the first try didn't work BUT it was because I used the wrong kind of foil.  Who knew there were different kinds of heat activated foil?!  The results were not the perfect teal fish on a kraft background that I was hoping for.  Whilst the fish were perfect the foil stuck to most of the background, too, but it was too good to throw away. I pulled out a sheet of teal 12x12 glitter cardstock to use as my background, my wrongly foiled paper and a few more of the kraft papers from Mermaid Treasures .  I based my layout on the latest sketch in the For The Love Of Pretty Paper facebook group. I used an acrylic piece from Skull and Cross Buns for my title. The wooden pieces from StickerKitten were coloured up with Liquitex ink.  I added details to them with mica powder and chunky glitter. Disco Paintbrush Pot

This month's Glittery Hands Box is disco themed and we all know the main part of a disco is the disco ball! Included in the box is a pack of mirror mosaic tiles perfect for turning just about anything into a 'disco ball'! I use an old glass herb jar as a paintbrush holder for my littlest brushes.  They always seem to get lost amongst the big brushes... It was very plain but that is easy to remedy... I added a few drips of acrylic ink around the base and covered the regularly shaped sections with the mirror tiles. I don't know if this would stamp being washed but as I use it for dry brushes I don't see it as an issue. Woody is currently having a disco on my desk boogieing around the pot to cheesy music! Thanks for stopping by!

Cola!

I met an alpaca called Cola.  He lived with George and Elvis (who will be featuring in other layouts soon!) and they were great fluffy woolly chaps.  Then they were shorn... hehe!  They were not impressed, especially Cola, with their new hair-dos! When I arrived home from meeting Cola there was a parcel from Skull and Cross Buns.  I opened it gleefully and had to chuckle at the aptness of the supplies. One Acrylic Cola Bottle , one Retro Sweeties stamp set, one Quirky Sentiments stamp set featuring the word Smile! I used my MISTI to create the background stamping.  I can't stamp well without the MISTI and it doesn't take much effort to use it. The only issue is I can't film while using it as my desk isn't big enough - I have the big ol' 12x12 MISTI.   I placed the stamp and rotated the paper so I got 4 impressions before needing to reposition the stamp. How perfect is that cola bottle?!  And I love that the glossy accents...

hello love you

I'm very excited to share my first Skull And Cross Bund DT piece with you today... I was sorting through some bits and bobs in my craft room and came across a bundle of red and pink bits from a valentine's swap I did earlier this year.  I didn't want to find a home to store them so I used them on this layout... I added in Skull and Cross Buns Decreasing Circles stencil, Geometric Heart Acrylic in hot pink and stamps from the Quirky Sentiments and Retro Sweeties clear sets.  Here's the video:

Buffalo Plaid

Mary Garcia inspires me in many ways.  I saw this post on her Instagram feed and knew I had to scraplift it! I pulled out a bunch of sewing threads that matched my photo and spent some time playing with my sewing machine. The background does most of the talking but I lightly embellished with some flair from Feed Your Craft, puffy stickers from Bella Blvd and Elle's Studio and an acrylic title from Bramble Fox. I added a few word stickers from 1Canoe2 and some star shaped sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps. I adore how it has turned out - definitely worth the time at the sewing machine! Thanks for looking!

bloom

Absolu tely adore how this layout turned out...  I've had some coloured glue dots in my stash for a while now.  They are from All Things Sticky.  I've been pondering how to use them to their best for months.  I finally decided to design and cut some vellum flowers and adhere them to my layout with the colour dots acting as the middle of the flower. The rest of the layout is kept simple so the flowers are the focus.  I added a little watercolour, a few stickers and a title from Color Cast Designs. Of course I added sequins too!  These are from a few SpiegelMom Scraps mixes, pulled together to match the colours of the glue dots. I'll pop the cut file on my freebies page in case you would like to have a play!  I have a new found love for cutting on vellum! Here's the video process...
