Deckle Edged?

I was looking through my card blanks for a small card and came across this one.  Opinions on the deckle edging please?  I'm not sure... The watercolour splatters are my Derwent pencils and the rest of the supplies are from Pretty Little Studio. Thanks for dropping by!

I {heart} ICE CREAM

Well, I could have done with one of these yesterday!  It was a scorcher! Made using my like for ever kit Carefree and some banner pieces from a honeycomb tissue paper bunting kit. Rather fond of the layout... but then I am rather fond of the subject matter too! Stay cool folks!

Anyone for an Ice Cream cone?

A few years back Ali from Crafty Ribbons made some adorable ribbon cupcakes.  They planted a seed in my mind... what about a ribbon ice cream cone?  A few years have past, but the idea hung on and has now come to fruition... The cone is made by pinning Swiss dot ribbon in ' tan and white ' to a polystyrene cone. It always takes me a long time to decide what flavour to pick when I buy a cone, and true to form it took a long while to decide which ribbons to use!  I settled on Raspberry ripple and used a collection of pink ribbon in both grosgrain and organza Swiss dots. These were also pinned to polystyrene - I cut a ball in half to give me a scoop type shape.  As I pinned I twisted to give the look of ice cream from a Mr Whippy machine. I hope you like this creation...  I'm quite hungry now... off for an ice cream I think! Linking at Avenue 613 ,  Not Just Cards , Inspire Me Mondays,

ICE CREAM

Photo heavy post... I've made another mini album!  Oh I love it, the colours, the patterns, the subject matter!!  Let me walk you through it... It's quite a dinky hand-sized album.  The pages are a mixture of tags, cardstock rectangles, a glassine bag... all very eclectic!  There was a die cut circle on my desk so that went in too! I've used a printable collection from Claudia Van R and supplies from SpiegelMom Scraps .  The only additional supplies were some hole reinforcers from Heidi Swapp, a gold pen, and a book ring I coloured gold to match the collection. A brief note about the subject matter:  I like ice cream a lot.  We went away for a week and I tried to eat an ice cream every day!! The colours of the sequins in the spring bloom sequin mix perfectly match the Amy collection. Rather than keep my rectangular pages regular I let the photo overlap the edge.  This gave me some interesting shapes and a good way to add...

Birthday Ice Cream

Today I would like to share my birthday layout.  What better way to celebrate a birthday on a nice sunny day than with ice cream... I made a little vellum pocket to keep the ice cream 'spoons' in, and we kept the tub lids too... And I used my arrow and splat brads that I've been hoarding! And here's how it turned out... I'd like to enter this at Simon Says Summer Food challenge Thanks for stopping by!

WW1

Well, here is my effort for his months White With 1 challenge.  The colour is CORAL and you need to use decorative edges.  I'm not entirely happy with it.  It feels more like 1 With White - too much coral... and I'm not convinced my edges are decorative enough... anyhoo, lets have a look...     I took a sheet of coral and white hexagon paper and cut the straight edges off with my craft knife.  This is attempt one at decorative edges.  Added some gesso.  All of my layers are cut first of all straight and then with a perforating cutter a few mm's in from the edge.  It gives a faux stitching feel to the layers.  This is attempt two at decorative edges!     Then a few close ups of the embellishment clusters...  Thanks to Mum for the crocheted hexagon!       I didn't have a white hexagon button so I dunked one in gesso :)       Loads of white star se...

WW1 - Pink and Hearts

The challenge for February at White With 1 is White + Pink + Hearts. Of course it is... very Valentine-y.  I don't have any lovey photos of people *insert sad face here* but I think this photo captures the love of ice cream rather well! I've used my favourite technique for the title.  Writing with glue on to a non stick mat and covering with glitter.     The pennants are from a birthday card I was sent.  Of course, I didn't throw it out as I knew one day I'd make use of it... it only took 8 months to use!!  The card was cream so I ran a little magenta India ink over it to keep with the colour theme.  I used the spare ink left in the paint brush on the background. I used the spine of an old notebook, stretched it out and formed a circle with it.  I attached it to the photo with heart brads from my stash.   And balanced the page with a small cluster at the bottom.  The ice cream button ...
