Herbert

Hello!  I'm over on the SpiegelMom Scraps blog with a photo-less layout today. I gathered some sequins; 2 Cool 4 U,   What's Up Buttercup , Green Acres , Salt of the Earth and strung them onto some thread.  The flair is from Cuts2Luv and Evalicious. The main focus, instead of photos, is on some dictionary definitions of Herbert's name. And as the layout says, one is definitely more apt than the other!!  (I still love him to pieces) All the colour comes from sequins, flair, thread and ink splatters.  You can stock up on your inks here and use the code Laura15 for a nice discount! Reindeer Tag for Crafty Ribbons

It is challenge tome at Crafty Ribbons Challenges .  We are continuing with our twelve weeks of Christmas and this weeks challenge is to use a reindeer as well as ribbon on your project. I whipped up a tag to be pegged to the top of a gift bag.  I don't like to seal them with tape as it makes it harder to re use the bags, but I also don't like peeping before the big day!! The mdf reindeer is from That Craft Place, the label is from Evalicious, and ribbon and bells from Crafty Ribbons. I've used Christmas charm ribbon and some 3mm grosgrain .  Did you know Crafty Ribbons sells bells too?  You'll find them here .  Or pop along to the SECC craft show between today and Sunday and visit the stall to stock up! Not strictly related but with products from the same companies, here is a super clean simple Christmas card! Thanks for stopping by!

TODAY LAURA

I'm back with the second layout from ' What's going on Vivienne? ' my counterfeit kit for June. This one uses my forged patterned papers. Unfortunately they took too much away from the photo so I layered some vellum over them to push them back a little bit. I seem to have gone all out with the embellishments.  It's not usually my style... I've used some Evalicious stickers and wood, some wood stars from a pocket pal (I love being a Like For Ever subscriber!) a sprinkling of sequins and a few other bits that were on my desk. I have some white and gold label stickers that I have tucked in here and there. And a flair, also from Evalicious I think.  I love to buy flair but find it quite hard to actually use them!  I'm not allowing myself to buy or acquire any more until I have made a big dent in my current stash. Here is a look at the remains of the kit... Not much left.  The tissue will go in to my tissue bag.  It was heade...

Unsure...

Here is a (long time un-blogged) layout created for NSD.  The Like For Ever challenge was 'use your STASH' - so use something beginning with each letter of the word stash. I picked Stitching, Triangles, All of the rub ons, Stickers and Handful of sequins.  I used up the rest of a sheet of rub ons and then used the backing cut in to triangles - nothing goes to waste here! My stitching is rarely straight.  ;) I felt the green sticker on the photo was screaming out too much being the only green in the layout so I added a few enamel dots in the same colour in a couple of places around the page. These sequins were part of a Things That Shine kit. And the pink floral pieces - yep, I cut up a stencil.  It was a Dear Lizzy stencil and it just wasn't up to the job.  It was too flimsy for anything other than just spraying mists through.  I like to scrape paste over stencils, this stencil was just getting bent and ruined by my heavy-handed-ness (n...

Circles

It is challenge day at Crafty Ribbons Challenges today - The gorgeous La Vikinga set us the theme of circles . I have used three different ribbons to create my feature circle - Vintage Script, Gold edged, and Swiss dots sheer .  I tacked them down with a few stitches and then covered the stitches with wooden stars. This was the first creating I had done in 10 days and I may have added a little more than I usually would... here is a run down; Ribbon and buttons - Crafty Ribbons Flair and stickers - Evalicious Glitter stars - Things That Shine Kraft stars - my cameo Stars cellophane - Easter chocolates from Chococo ! Wood veneer stars - Studio Calico Enamel dots and glitter dots - my stash White glitter stickers - stash busting Pencils - Derwent Spelling mistakes in the journalling - Beads Buttons and Birds! SODAlift - egr

I am a lucky bunny!  I am guest at SODAlicious' SODAlift this fortnight.  We are lifting a layout from Ceriz and here is my take... I've used papers from SODAlicious and flair, wood and stickers from Evalicious. For the mixed media part I used clear gesso, india ink and Derwent art bars.  I had a lot of fun with this, I should do mixed media more often - it's good to get multicoloured hands!! Thanks for stopping by

Ruby/Happy

Here are another couple of layouts from March's kit...  The first one I find a bit bland, but it is a story captured nonetheless.  This woodgrain paper has been in my last three kits and ended up unused... at least I have used it now!!  It turns out that I am not so good with using woodgrain! This next layout is based on denim paper from Cocoa Vanilla.  I bought three sheets but it wasn't enough.  I need more denim!!  The heart buttons are from Crafty Ribbons .  They, to me, are the cutest little embellishments! A little cluster at the top including a rub on and some 3mm grosgrain ribbon . And I used some photo corners.  I like these, so it is difficult to use them... I don't understand the hoard-it-it's-pretty mindset yet I still find myself doing it! Thanks for stopping by!

It's Thursday, it's challenge day at Crafty Ribbons Challenges .  This fortnight the theme is everyone's old favourite - Anything Goes With Ribbon.  So we want to see anything you make that includes a bit of ribbon! I have made a layout using my new silhouette cameo, some old gift wrap and a handful of pretties from my Crafty Ribbons stash.    I've used lace , sale pack lace , swiss dots , birthday and sentiment ribbons and some buttons and arranged them in a rainbow.  I do love rainbows, they are so happy! I'm also really chuffed that I managed to get the green face clip on a layout.  I've got a few of these and so far have not really known how to use them! I'd like to enter this at; Avenue 613 All Crafts Challenge Not Just Cards Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to join us over at Crafty Ribbons Challenges!

Peek A Boo

Here is a layout made with the contents of March's counterfeit kit... I shunned the turquoise-y mints and went for the yellow and black & white combo.  The black and white patterned paper was a bit too much... it took over the photos so I scraped on a thin layer of gesso with a craft knife to knock it back a bit.  Then, for good measure, I flicked the rest of the gesso I had put on my palette on to the card. I tucked a piece of lace in to the top of the paper bag layer and added a mini paper clip. The alphas are cut aparts from SODAlicious.  The puffy star sticker is from Evalicious.  I spy a bit of a -licious trend... Thanks for stopping by, from, Lauralicious!

Family Love

Here is layout number two from my counterfeit kit - On The Cutting Mat.  This one uses no patterned paper and no inks... I have simply layered up washi tape, a border strip, ribbons and lace to give my photos something to sit on.  I've used a couple of photo corners, puffies from Evalicious and some Lawn Fawn sequins.  And a paperclip.  I got a couple of packs of small coloured paperclips from Doodlebug.  You'll see them a lot over the next month or so...  I am obsessed with them - they are perfection!! I tried for tonnes of texture below my photos... tick! Thanks for stopping by

On The Cutting Mat

So here is my counterfeit kit for the month of march. Yep, we are a way through the month already, I am a little late, but that is how it has gone. So be it. The kit to forge this month is ' a piece of cake designs ' January kit.     My notes on the kit read: wood, cork geometric, floral, ditsy navy, soft teal, black & white, yellow, pumpkin. Gelatos, sequins, ephemera, frames, clips, flair, doily, washi, ribbon, lace .   My notes from the blog hop read: Lynette - name it, love it, do a photo shoot with props and the works!  Crush on it!! Susanne - Keep it compact I was put off by the pink labelling too (forgot to write master forgers name)   So I present to you "on the cutting mat"     It was meant to be a 2 layout kit but I can see at least 4! A few sheets of 12x12 from Cocoa Vanilla (anyone found any UK stockists yet?)  The rest of the paper is snippets and off cuts. 3 full packs of supplies from...

Peek-A-Boo! & GO

Two layouts from my Feruary Counterfeit Kit.  The photography is not great as I have the shakes and the light is poor.  This is not a great combination for photography!! Peek-A-Boo isn't finished... I need to add a title and possibly 3d embellishments but can't get it right.  I'll put it in my UFO box and visit it again in a month... I used a good amount of die cuts and bits from the ephemera pack in my kit.  And the other piece of printed acetate.  Perhaps because I have used the acetate I had high hopes for the layout, and that is why I am struggling? I am loving the vellum bits that seem to be appearing in all the ephemera packs.  Love my vellum! GO is the second layout... You could make a sketch of the first layout, flip it and you have this layout.  Totally unintentional!  Also rotate it again and you have the layout I intend to share on the last day of the month.  It seems I have struck upon something I like! ...

CKC blog hop

I'm taking part in the end of month blog hop at Counterfeit Kit Challenge.  If you are hopping along you should have arrived from Lesley I chose to take part in challenge 3 = use vellum.  As I commented on the blog, this is more of a pleasure than a challenge.  I love vellum and had included two sheets in my kit. This page is about the good life...  which is flavoured with raspberry and white chocolate... and comes in the form of cake! And boy was it good! I've used ribbon from Cocoa Daisy kits, twine, and the awesome metallic vellum. Your next stop is Leslie (I'm in a Lesley sandwich!!) and don't forget if you get lost there is a complete list of the stops at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog.

YES please

Another layout made with the contents of my counterfeit kit ...  This one is for Quirky Crafts Challenges whose theme is food and ribbon - two of my favourite things! I started with my splattered kraft and added some brand new dotty ribbon from Crafty Ribbons .  It has now been released so I can share - it's been hard to keep it to myself.  It's silly how something as simple as white sheer ribbon with multi coloured dots on can make me so happy!!  I also added a puffy sticker. I used another handful of alphas.  I painted them to match the coral dots on the ribbon, which happened to match the cardstock, which happened to match the sorbet in the photo.  I love it when things come together!! And here it is all together... Thanks for stopping by
