Cookie Cutter Whimsy

Here is my first project with May's Glittery Hands Box. Obviously, the glitter mix is quite high on the list of ‘I NEED to play with this first’ that forms when you first look through the kit.  Also vying for top spot this month is the cookie cutter. I combined the two for this little whimsy trinket. The kit contained a couple of 3D stickers – I borrowed the acetate backing that they were attached to and stick it to the back of the cookie cutter.  I used matte accents for this as I was awaiting a new bottle of glossy accents. Any strong clear glue would do the trick. Once that was fully dry I trimmed the excess acetate from around the edges.   I used an anti-static bag around the cookie cutter to help reduce the glitter sticking where I didn’t want it.  My new bottle of glossy accents had arrived by now so I flooded the inside with a layer just less than 2mm thick and popped a layer of glitter on top.  It’s quite important to let this ...

Pine Cone Decoration

I am absolutely in love with this pine cone rubber stamp from Skull & Cross Buns.  I stamped a whole bunch of the and fussy cut them out... I scored a line right down the middle of each cone and folded them... I then stuck 5 of them together, sandwiching a length of ribbon in the middle. I tied the ribbon ends in a bow and added a few strings of sequins .  I now want to make a set of these to decorate this years Christmas tree! Linking up at Inspire Me Monday

Bobby's Frame

I have another box frame to share... This one is 90% Cocoa Vanilla supplies... The wood star confetti and tiny star stickers are not CVS. I'm not the biggest fan of wood veneer shapes but the CVS collections always catch my eye... this hello banner is gorgeous! And I was pleased to use the vellum and acetate stars from the Totally Rad and Made of Awesome collections as a feature. No sequins in this one - he's not a fan - so I restrained myself.  I think I'd like it better with a few sequins in!! ;) Thanks for looking!

Fairy Jar

I have something a little out of the ordinary to share with you today... It's a ribbon fairy in a jar of mushrooms!  Bear with me here...  ;) The first thing I thought of when I saw the Spring Ribbon Mushrooms from Crafty Ribbons was fairies.  I decided to try and make a miniature fairy to live among the mushrooms. I've used a couple of beads for her head and body, 2mm silk ribbon for her arms and legs, seam binding and silk ribbon for her skirt and lace for her wings. I also made a couple of mushrooms from Swiss Dot grosgrain and wire stems.  I suspended the fairy on a thread so it looks like she is flying. Totally bonkers but so much fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Frame

Hello!  Merry Christmas to one and all! This is a cheap glass clip frame from the pound shop.  I've added some lace around the edge with red backed super sticky tape. I created a template on my Silhouette software to cut a grid of squares to match the size of the patterns on the Christmas Charm Snowflakes ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.  I stuck them to the back with more red backed super sticky tape - I love the stuff, it sticks everything! Then to finish off I used some gold Stickles glitter glue to script Merry Christmas directly on to the glass.  It looks really impressive and you don't have to tell anyone that you lay the glass over some printed script and just traced it!! Enjoy your next few festive days x
