Showing posts with the label crate paper

together 2

This layout was made as a DT piece for like for ever.  Unfortunately, lfe has now closed and this layout didn't quite make it to their blog (I like to work ahead of time, in case my M.E. gives me jip!) It's a bittersweet share.  I miss the club terribly already.  I'm not going to buy any new supplies until I have worked my way through the part-used kits I have - I guess it is a scrappy diet. This was also my monthly foray into coloured backgrounds rather than my safe go-to of white cardstock.  I adore this sheet of coloured paper but I'm not entirely happy with the outcome of the layout.  However much I try to like my scrapping on coloured backgrounds I never seem to be quite as happy as when I work on white. There are two posts coming tomorrow, and I hope to be back to blogging more regularly soon! Thanks for dropping by!

hello

This would be my new favourite if it wasn't for the heart shaped photos.  I just can't get on board with the fact I've cut in to her head...  The rest of the layout I love! I used heart die cuts from Things That Shine.  Some I paint with my Art Bars, others I backed with patterned paper from my Like For Ever kit. I layered them all up on white tissue paper and stitched them in to place inside a washi square. The title is from the sticker sheet, and a few other stickers are placed around the page. And I went a little splatter happy and flicked little droplets of colour all over. What do you think of the shaped photos.  I think I'm going to get the photos reprinted and crop them differently... Thanks for stopping by.

darling baby bird

Here we are with the third completely different colour palette from my October kit from Like For Ever.  This time we've matched the slightly bonkers yellow with an old photo of a slightly bonkers bird!! This was the first day I got Billy, she was so young.  Of course at this point we thought she was a boy... Again I made a big effort with the sticker sheet, and added enamel dots, and this time sequins too, from my stash I added a vellum pocket with yellow stitching in the layering behind the photo... and added a tag with some hidden journalling.  I'm going through a phase of really missing having a pet here with me, so I got it all out on the tag. Turns out I rather like the look of these gold stickers... maybe it's the start of using stickers more easily on my layouts. Linking my feathered friend up at Quirky Crafts. Thanks for stopping by!

BIG & little

Another layout using my Like For Ever October kit... this one with a completely different feel.  I love that with these kits, you can get several different colour palettes from the kit giving totally different flavours.  This one is rather feminine, the last lovely blues, and the next one I'll share will be different again. To the kit supplies I added seam binding and lace in white, enamel dots from a previous kit and alphas from my stash. I wanted touches of yellow but pushed it back by layering under vellum and lace. The tags were looking a little lost with no thread so seam binding to the rescue! I often struggle with the sticker sheets.  This time with no ephemera pack I made a real effort to get some of the stickers on each layout I made. I used the gorgeous vellum pocket as a base for my title.  More stickers, and the overprint left on the sticker sheet trimmed out and added too.  I love that the title starts with "DESCRIPTION",...

Bobby knows...

Sharing a fun layout using my Like For Ever October kit Hello Beautiful. I absolutely adore this ombre blue heart paper.  It's one I could quite easily have stashed away as too pretty to cut! I added a little mixed media to the background.  Watercolour pencils, art bars and some navy blue stamping.  I added a few pieces of one of the rolls of washi included in the kit too. Then I searched through all of my 'mostly used up' little alphabets.  A pencil, paper, and a lot of fiddling around and I worked out if I pulled from six alphabets and turned two U's in to R's I could work this title. Then I went about layering and prettying... mini bunting from off cuts;  threads; tissue paper layers; label stickers; So much fun to put together! Thanks for stopping by

Tains + Nunnels

We are all struggling with a cold/bug here so life is really slow.  Here is a layout made with my Like For Ever kit - Hello Beautiful.  I made it two weeks ago and have not managed to get it blogged yet! Of course it features Nephy Dude, who is so very excitable when it comes to trains.  Or tains as he calls them.  I never want to forget the cute pronunciation! I picked through the kit putting the pink to one side and focusing on the black and white patterns. A little flicking of gold paint - it is very satisfying flicking a long haired brush and covering everything in paint. Thanks for stopping by...  I hope to get some of my draft posts published whilst I'm feeling ill.  I'm missing sitting at my desk but when I feel like this there is no point in pushing my body.  So it may stay a little quiet for a week or so, but I am still around!

Little You

This layout is made from pieces from my Like For Ever kit from August.  All the pieces were cut for previous layouts or were left overs from previous layouts - I used no scissors to make this! I had some mixed media fun on the background using my Derwent Art Bars and Shimmerz inks. The 'B' tab was minty green and was just not working, so I pressed it on to a navy ink pad.  A little of the green shows through which is nice, and then I outlined it with a gold pen.  Lastly I strung some Studio Calico woodgrain star sequins on some navy thread and draped the down the edge of the photos. Thanks for stopping by today Linking up at  Inspire Me Mondays

LFE: Sunday Sketch

Sunday means Like For Ever have a challenge.  It a just for fun thing and alternates each week between a sketch and a general challenge.  This week was a sketch... And here is my take... I've used my Like For Ever kit from August (although you don't need a kit to join in with us.)  I'm very excited as September's kit will arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. I negotiated with the letter stickers... I had an E left but it was the wrong colour so I add part of an exclamation mark to an F.  I had run out of T's but made one from a 4.  A few strategically placed dots of gold paint conceal the joins. Having followed the sketch pretty accurately, albeit mirrored, I found my layout needed something more to the left of the photo.  After consulting with the boss (a.k.a. Mum a.k.a. My Pet Crocheter) I added some stitching and a small gold triangle.  Mum isn't a scrapbooker but she is jolly handy to have as a second pair of eyes... Pre...

Scrapping Away

I did manage to do all the things I needed to do yesterday - woo for me!  So todays reward was a little scrappy time.  I've used my Like For Ever kit for August that has been sitting a little neglected.  It's a lovely kit though.  (Hoping for some more energy to get some more layouts made.) At the end of last month I cut a whole load of files on my cameo.  Because I was switching between different types of cardstock one file got cut on the wrong settings.  I think I made it work though... The sections that cut properly were few and far between - again totally my fault with the settings - so I selected a few ad finished off the cutting with my craft knife.  I went with more cut outs in the bottom corner and tailed off diagonally.  Then I grabbed all the non-pink papers, cutaparts and ephemera from my kit.  The cut file is from The Frugal Crafter . I ended up with a lovely mix of green, greys, creams and blacks.  I randomly...
