Monkey's Fist Bookmark

Hi Folks!  I'm here today with a quick nautical bookmark for Crafty Ribbons... I took two lengths of  By The Sea Lighthouse ribbon and sewed them back to back turning the ends under neatly.  I then grabbed some garden twine and found a tutorial to make a monkey's fist knot.  I work better with visual instructions so I found a video to follow along with. I attached this at the bottom and was finished.  I think it has quite a big impact for something that took very little work! Thanks for looking!

Money Box

Hi Guys, today I am sharing a money box made using an old dominoes box and the By The Sea ribbons from Crafty Ribbons . First off I whittled a coin sized hole in the wood.  It was easy enough to do with a craft knife as the wood was very soft.  To prepare my wooden box to accept paint I used a watercolour ground.  Once that was dry I played around with some turquoise and brown watercolour paints, flicking and splattering until my desk was messy and my heart was happy! I added some of the lighthouse ribbon to either side and wrapped some seaside ribbon around the box.  I added some hand lettering to the front and a few sequins for extra sparkle. It's easy to get the money out as the front panel slides out.  I wonder if it will help with my savings..? Thanks for stopping by!

But look!  It lights up!!  And it is really simple too.  If you are thinking along the lines of 'well I was never any good at electronics at school' - forget that - this is craft, and you, my friend, are good at crafting!  You can see my process video for confirmation of how simple it is... I added a little gold shimmering spray over the saying so even when the light is not switched on it still has the illusion of light. You can easily hide all the magic with another sheet of cardstock an...
