Skull And Cross Buns week!

I've got another Skull and Cross Buns layout to share with you today.  This one has no stamping though... The trees are made using Distress Oxide inks and the Stars And Sparkles stencil. I added had sewn trunks and a wobbly title. Thanks for looking!

Christmas Tree Card

Feeling super sparkly and Christmassy today... I've used a combination of Christmas mix sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps, glue and washi tape to make this Christmas card. Added a sentiment on a strip contrasting coloured card... Sticking the sequins took 16 minutes so not too time-consuming at all. Thanks for watching! Entering at Make My Monday and Simon Says Stamp .

Christmas In July

Hello!  It is challenge day over at Crafty Ribbons Challenges .  The theme is one that will probably make a few of you shiver - Christmas!  But it never too early to start making for Christmas, especially if you are a card maker! I have made a few tree decorations.  These are two penguin buttons sewn back to back, with a piece of bling edge 3mm in between.  Cute!  These will be adorning my tree this year... but not for a while yet! Thanks for stopping by!

Four Seasons

Oh, I enjoyed making this one... I know it's not an original concept - the four seasons artwork has been done many times before but I still enjoyed interpreting it my way.  I started out with a four pack of mini canvasses, each painted a different shade of blue. I then painted on a very unrealistically shaped tree!  I needed an even spread of branches to attach my button leaves to, so following the shape of a real tree didn't quite work!  I sorted through my button stash and pulled out blossom pinks and spring greens; rich leafy greens; and autumnal oranges, yellows, reds and browns.  I attached my buttons with matte gel medium, but any strong glue would be okay. My favourite touch?  The autumn leaves that have dropped from the tree! You can find a huge selection of buttons here ! Thank you for stopping by

Ribbon Christmas Tree

When I received the main feature range of Christmas ribbons - Christmas Charm - from Crafty Ribbons I was instantly in love with the colours.  Not the standard bright red, but a slightly darker shade and a few gorgeous greens.  I wasn't sure what I was going to make but this idea formed and grew... I glued strips of ribbons on to calico (re-purposed from a fabric storage unit) and cut out two tree shapes.  I zig zag stitched them together leaving a hole at the bottom.  I used some toy stuffing to give it a little body and placed it on a kitchen roll holder!  Yes, that's right... the stem and base is a kitchen roll older - it was the right size so why not?!  Perfect upcycling! I finished the bottom edge with a couple of widths of lace, in scarlet and kiwi . This tree is on display on the Crafty Ribbons exhibition stall.  If you'd like to make one you can free style the shape and get the supplies on the list below, or grab a kit to make a...

Advent - Day 19

Amazing what you can do with a bit of polstyrene and a tin of pins... This is a polystyrene cone covered in loops of ribbon.    So simple but I love it!  It's sitting on my little shelf and it makes me smile :) I cut lengths of ribbon about 5-6cm long and pinned in rows starting at the bottom. using dots , sheer , ric rac , check and Santa ribbons All done for Crafty Ribbons Inspirations - check out what the other girls have made here

Advent - Day 13

Here is a little hanging decoration that I made for today's Advent Celebration at Crafty Ribbons Inspiration I've used the Vintage Christmas range that is exclusive to Crafty Ribbons.   When I want to fussy cut ribbon to layer like this I use gel medium to stick it to very thin paper.  This stops the majority of the fraying.  Also when I have cut the design out I go around the edge with a little matte medium to seal any fibers that might try and 'fluff out' the edges! I think this range of ribbons is my favourite - I just love the colours :)

OLW - DO!

Something new for me today.  I don't usually share what I do in my art journal.  Not sure why.  Just don't.  Probably an inferiority complex.  But at one little word the word to take inspiration from is DO.  So, I sat and did, without thinking too much, just created.  And now I'm going to share... I need to just DO more often :) Thanks for stopping by
