Throwback | Tiny Squares

A sweet pastel grid layout rescued from the dreaded drafts folder... This was made and photographed back in 2018. These papers are from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and all the lace is from Crafty Ribbons. Thanks for stopping by!

Scraptember | Stash Busting Patterned Paper

Taking part in some stash busting fun in Scraptember . I don't use as much patterned paper as I'd like.  I'd like to use as much as I buy... but that might be wishful thinking!!  Anyway, that thought led me to draw up this sketch. I went through my yellow/green and mint/blue paper boxes and pulled out a stack of papers.  I arranged them in colour order and cropped them all to squares.  I thought I was going to be super accurate but that didn't happen.  They are roughly 12mm larger each time but after the third one I just started eyeballing it.  In the sketch the squares are rotated 22.5 degrees each time; on my layout I just turned it "a bit".  Once I'd got my twisted stack complete I pondered what else needed adding.  I really don't know... enamel dots?  A title?  Journalling?  In the end I went with a tiny tab with his initial on it.  I'm intrigued to see if anyone else plays along with this sketch and how ...

Lollipop Box Club | Challenge

Get your crafty self over to the Lollipop Box Club Chat on Facebook for an evening of challenges. You'll find this sketch and my example layout... made from the February kit named Day Dreamer and a few sequins from my stash. I find myself reaching for yellow and sunshine motifs at the moment.  Bring on spring and some warmth! Thanks for stopping by!

Lottie Loves Paper | Cyber Crop II

Here's my second guest layout for Lottie Loves Paper's Cyber Crop.  Join in with the fun here . Here's the sketch I was working to: As you can see I've switched the squares for rectangles. And gone all out for layers and dimension. Again, supplies are Pink Fresh Studio bought from Lottie Loves Paper. And again, I have taken too many close ups! Here's the video: I totally adore how this layout has turned out. A large part of that is down to the photo of my Mum. Thanks for stopping by!

Lottie Loves Paper | Cyber Crop I

This weekend Lottie Loves Paper are having a cyber crop in their fabulous facebook community.  I'm guest designing for a couple of challenges... First up is this sketch... Here's my process video: And a bunch of close ups... I've used goodies from Pink Fresh bought from Lottie Loves Paper, of course! And yes, I have gone overboard with the close ups again!  But I like close ups!  Tangled thread and shiny sequins are awesome! I'd love to see you over in the Lottie Loves Paper group over the weekend joining in.  I'm sure there will be lots of fun to be had and prizes tii! Thanks for stopping by!

Stick It Down | love you

Hello!  Happy Monday! Here is my layout for Stick It Down.  When I drew up this sketch I had the layout in mind so I pretty much copied the sketch exactly... I used my Silhouette Cameo and sketch pens to create the love you patterned paper strip, the Y and U, and the top peek-a-boo section.  I then switched to a cutting blade and cut them out.  I also cut out an O to use as a template to trim my photo.  Whilst I had the Silhouette up and running I cut a stitchnig template for 'love' on a 12x12 background.  I make my stitching templates by switching the solid line of text to a dashed line.  Also, as I am a lazy impatient bad hand sewist I go through and delete every other dash.  This makes the stitches larger and takes a lot less time to complete the sewing! The hardest part of the layout was choosing which colour heart stickers to use... I opted for yellow, a deliberate swerve of my instinct to use green.  I'd use green o...

Stick It Down | Beach Boy

Hello!  It's Stick It Down single sketch day... We are working with this sketch by Antonia this month. Here is my process video:  And here are some close ups of the details... Little clusters of stickers and die cut shapes over a vellum layer which creates a shaker pocket. The title is Beach Boy - which is about as adventurous as my titles get!  I've used Heffy Doodle stitched alpha dies and StickerKitten patterned papers. I am now in desperate need of 12x12 vellum.  It's almost impossible to find!  I still have enough sequins to last a lifetime though, haha! Please do create along with us using this sketch and link it up on the Stick It Down blog before the month is up.  Thanks for stopping by!

Stick It Down | Twofer!

I was inspired by the November sketch from Stick It Down to create two layouts.  The first layout is what I had in my head when I was drawing up the sketch. Kind of luxurious, lots of texture and volume, scrapping until your heart is content with no thought as to how it will lie in an album! I even tried some fancy writing.  I'm totally inspired by Minortismay but have a  l o n g  way to go before I'm anywhere near her level! Most of the sequins are from SpiegelMom Scraps.  The second layout is a little, um, quirky?! I turned the swag in to seaweed!  (Because who wouldn't?!) I hid some sea creatures from StickerKitten amongst the weeds.  It may be a tad bonkers but I love it! Please do link up over at Stick It Down if you are inspired by this sketch.
