Laura Rumble - Crafter

Over in the SpiegelMom Scraps facebook group we are running a sketch challenge... Suzanna has set the fun sketch and my immediate thought was I really want to use my new Christmas stencil!! I picked out a colour scheme of white, Christmas red and icy blue. The Fairisle style stencil is from Pretty My Page.  I used two colours of Pasteeze through it two give various shades of blues. I added a few puffy stickers (Bella Bvd and Elle's Studio), a few acrylic shapes (Color Cast Designs), some thin checked ribbon (Crafty Ribbons) and a handful of sequins - from SpiegelMom's of course! The marbled type effect in the paste is subtle but I think that is because one of my colours is white.  When mixing two colours (not white!) it gives a more bold finish.  The blue shade is called Baby Boy Blue and really is a beautiful colour. I love tulips.  I especially love the petals that are a little bit wrong!  Let me explain... the petals that have had a hole eaten in them by a caterpillar, the petal that got bruised it transit and is a different colour to the others, or the petal that has a streak of green in them like the weren't sure if they were meant to be a petal or a leaf! So that is what these photos are!  The layout is a combination of challenges.  It fits the Mind The Scrap summer challenge but I was working with the Cuts2Luv challenge in mind. I've used 2 of the same photo, chevrons and the sketch... loosely!  And of course some of their flair . I've also used sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps , and a tonne of pink hearts from my stash.  Sometimes I have to put all the pink on one layout to use it up!! Thanks for stopping by!

SpiegelMom Scraps are having an Instagram party with Wild Whisper throughout the NSD weekend.  There will be a new challenge released every 4-5 hours. The first challenge is to repeat the dominant colour in your photo with inks and sequins... So I have gone all out purple!  I love it! These flowers are just beautiful in colour and form and it was so fun to create inspired by them. I've used sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps including some from the following mixes: Sweat Pea, A Mermaid's Tale, Summer Paradise . and Shimmerz in: Don't Be a Pansy Paste-eez, I Lilac You Dazzlerz , Grapetastic Dazzlerz .
