Repitition

A design aspect I am really enjoying using this year is reptition.  As I've looked back through my creations so far this year it seems to be a recurring theme - perhaps my go to design. This layout has multiple watering can die cuts.  Rainbow colour is, and always will be, another of my go to design elements. Rainbow anything is cheerful and that's what I need when I'm crafting. This next layout features a wooden crate slat that I used oyt of context.  Without the rest of the die set it doesn't make itself known as part of a crate, it's just a rectangle with holes at eother end.  I've threaded them on cotton and made a feature of them. In this next photo you can see them as intended on the right hand side. And then back to rainbow, but this time tag shaped rainbows... I love how this one turned out and it reminds me to sew on more of my projects.  Even white thread on white card adds so much texture and subtle interest.

Pretty My Page | Yum Yum!

I'm on the Pretty My Page blog today using a couple of cut files exclusive to PMP.  See you over there!

Lollipop Box Club | Dreamer

This evening I am sharing a layout/video combo made in collaboration with Lisa from Lollipop Box Club. I've used the February Lollipop Box along with a leaf sprig cut file I designed for this collaboration.  You can find out more about the free cut file and sketch in the Lollipop Box Club Chat group on Facebook. I had such a fun time creating with this kit.  I loved the leaves on the My Green Cow collage sheets so much I had to draw some extra!  Do you doodle on your creations?  If you do, I'm really curious to know - are you ever 100% happy with them?  I know the doodles are meant to be just that, care free and imperfectly loose, but I couldn't help thinking 'if only I could rub that one out and have another try!' In the end I added quite a lot of doodling, certainly more than I first planned to!  It does add a whimsy that I love to a page so perhaps it'll be something I start doing more often. Here's the process video:  I'...

Here are a few more of the samples made for StickerKitten 's HOCHANDA appearance...

LLP Cyber Crop

I 've loved joining in with the Lottie Loves Paper Cyber Crop over the last couple of days.  Here are a few more of my layouts. This one is for the tags and tabs challenge. Lots of messy paints and inks paired with black pen doodling. and a tonne of tags cut from Pink Fresh papers. This one is for the mixed media prompt.  The stars are from a Confessions Of A Paper Addict cut file.  Texture paste, ink, gesso and anything else that was in reach combined to make the background. With a hidden tag telling the story of the photo. And finally using up the scraps... These were mainly pieces cut for or trimmed off the previous layouts so a true scraps page.  Ermm... I'll admit I ran out of scraps at one point and had to engineer some more!! Thanks for the cyber crop, Sarah, and for having me as a guest designer to join in the fun!

Tea Wisdom

Hi there, I'm back with project number two from my May Glittery Hands Box box. I’ve combined the other half of the tag book and the envelopes along with some of the gorgeous patterned papers for this little album.  (The other half, I hear you say? Yes, check out the other little project here! ) I stuck three tags together to make a firmer base to hold the envelopes.  I want this to be something you can fiddle with without worrying about damaging it, I’m not after delicacy.   I decorated the envelopes with cups and cakes cut from the patterned paper Emma designed. I printed off some wisdomous quotes about tea that I found on Pinterest and stuck them on paper cut to fit inside the envelopes.  You could also hand write notes specific to the recipient. I am going to add some Bible references to the other side of these little inserts before I gift this to a friend. As I had already used the ring to bind my fli...

welly boots

I have a LOT of stencils.  My friend has just opened a new website selling stencils.  I don't use a lot of stencils.  I want a lot of the stencils on my friend's new website.  These four things don't sit all that well together... I need to have a sort through my stencils.  I have a theory that I buy what I like the look of without thinking about how I will use it.  I did this with paper at the beginning of my crafting adventure too, and it led to a huge cull!  Any way, this layout uses one of my stencils... along with a whole bunch of blue goodies dug out from my stash.  I love these kinds of layouts - they are not made with a collection or big brand supplies.  Rather they are a collection of tags from clothes I've bought, packaging, off cuts and snippets, doilies and labels with a few ribbons thrown in for good measure. Thanks for stopping by!

Neon Nails

Here is a bright fun layout I whipped up for a like for ever family challenge.  The criteria was bright colours with at least 10 layers. I went through it with the background.  This is take three!  I kept trying to add more (black ink splats?  What was I thinking?!) and ruining the effect.  Mark III is made up of at lest five layers of neon watercolour and two layers of texture paste through a star stencil. I've then pulled out all my neon stash (and had a gleeful 10 minutes playing with it all!) and added a few black and white bits to set the neon colours off. Minus the two ruined backgrounds, I really enjoyed making this layout.  Here's the video if you want to watch... Thanks for stopping by!
