Scrapbooking | Tulle Waves

I've had this layout in my head for a long time...  I cut these bikinis from Pinkfresh papers and then was stumped as to how to use them.  Slowly this design formulated but I've only got around to making it now. The bikinis are trapped in pillowy pockets of white tulle, all frothy like spindrift from the waves.  For good measure I also enclosed a mixture of sequins from old SpiegelMom mixes. The cluster around the photo is all Pinkfresh stash.  You know what I'm like... I've seen their new collection is coming out in May and I want to use up some of what I have to make space for the new goodies. There's always a certain amount of hoarding with me and Pinkfresh papers - I can't help it! How gorgeous does it all look under the tulle?  I think tulle might be my new thing!

Scrapbooking | Burger

I love a burger.  Not a fast food type one... a vegetable protein burger in a seedy soft bun crammed with lettuce and tomato - so much so that it falls out - and extra salad on the side with a few (not many) big fat chips.  The bap must have both ketchup and salad cream in it too. With that said, I had to use this cut file from The Cut Shoppe .  The alphas are also Ashley Horton from Pretty Little Studio, as is the acetate. I fancied trying something a bit different with a corner of colour in addition to my usual white background.  I added a strip of kraft to one side too to tie in the colour of the burger.  I like to use a colour in more than one place on a layout.  The yellow is used for the cheese slice and to back my photo; the red in the tomato and the spotty acetate; the pale kraft in the bap and the journalling strips. In the end the kraft burger didn't look dark enough so I coloured it in with my versamark pen and that made it a meat...

These Fingers

This layout uses an old sheet of black and white paper from My Minds Eye.  I bought it to colour in, which I did, and it then sat unused for a couple of years! It was inspired by a challenge from the Cut Shoppe to back a cut file.  I also fussy cut a few of the flowers and popped them in behind my photo. The labels are from Freckled Fawn and are another thing that have been in my stash for ages.  It feels good to get some of them used up.

Cutting Up a Cut File!

I usually cut a few bits on my Silhouette Cameo when I have it out.  This means some cuts don't get used right away, and sometimes the edges end up damaged.  Rather than throw this large background piece away I decided to cut it apart, discard the damaged bits and keep the good bits!  The file is from The Cut Shoppe. I backed a few of the petal sections with the gorgeous blue roses paper from Maggie Holmes' Chasing Dreams.  I adore this pattern and colour and I'm using it really sparingly! Incidentally, it is a perfect match for Pandora's Ombre sequin mix from SpiegelMom Scraps. I filled a glassine bag with some Pandora's Ombre and got a little sad that I had used nearly all of my supply.  I emptied about half out and threw in some tiny cheap white sequins that have been in my stash for nearly a decade!  I don't use them as they are not perfect but behind glassine you can't tell. I then used the left over Pandora's Ombre sequins to e...

Kites x2

You know when you think you've had a really good idea, but then don't like the out come as much as the version in your head?!  Yep, that is this layout... I love the kite cut files from The Cut Shoppe and really wanted to incorporate a crochet kite that My Pet Crocheter made. I used my like for ever kit and added in some Shimmerz Dazzlerz and ribbon from Crafty Ribbon.  The tiny square alphas are from Cocoa Vanilla Studios. You can watch the process here... Thanks for stopping by!

Well, it's that time again.  It is nearly new kit day at like for ever and I still have layouts from the last kit to share. This layout is using 3 of the Studio Calico Goldie papers, the denim cardstock, thickers, and a few bits from the ephemera pack for layering. The cut file is from The Cut Shoppe , with a few hearts cut off (I used them on a different layout - I'll share soon!) I tried a yellow to blue ombre on the thickers but it all turned green - not surprising really, basic colour theory.  So I painted over them in white - you can always cover up 'mistakes' in scrapbooking! Hope to be back with more layouts from 'twentysixteen' soon before 'smitten' hits my desk at the end of the week!
