Pretty My Page | Wonky Autumn

I’m very excited to be sharing a layout made with one of my new cut file designs that Pretty My Page are now selling.  I love to doodle, draw and design cut files but I’ve never felt I had something unique enough to sell.  Whilst playing I came up with my wonky lines format and loved it so much I thought I might be on to something.  So far there are three designs – Wonky Autumn, Wonky Halloween and Wonky Fair Isle.  Today I’m sharing Wonky Autumn... I’ve stash dived for all of the backing papers.  I think the only current papers are Jen Hadfield’s This Is Family Fall Time which backs the tree section and Jillibean Soup’s Garden Harvest Bite Size Bits paper which backs the acorn section.  I’m finding these designs are a great way to use up odds, ends and scraps when it comes to backing them. I chose to fussy cut the photo so it didn’t cover up two squirrels – there’s a sentence I never thought I’d type!  The title is Autumn Explorer ...

Round Up | TN Insert

I was given a Freckled Fawn traveller's notebook by Lottie Loves Paper as part of my DT commitments.  Here I share all of my pages so far... The supplies I've used are also from Lottie Loves Paper and are a combination of Pebbles and Pink Fresh Studio. The whole album will document life with Herbie, my previous budgie who had French moult. Sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps of course! I've really enjoyed experimenting with blank areas of plastic wallet and sequin shaker pockets.  I love the peek through to the next page - it really pulls you in to flipping through more pages. Traditionally a TN would have lots of journalling but it's something I struggle with.  The following page is probably what I should be aiming for each time... Thanks for stopping by!

Stick It Down

It's single page team reveal day at Stick It Down ... Here is my take on the sketch...  I was very liberal with the sketch!  I switched the hexagons to eggs and rotated the whole thing 90 degrees. I used stamps from Heffy Doodle to create my eggs.  I adore this set of photos so was very pleased to get them scrapped.  The papers are from Freckled Fawn. You'd never believe I didn't have a lime green pen if you saw how many pens I own!  I plumped for a coloured pencil instead. Here's the video:

Stick It Down for May

I've recovered mostly from labyrinthitis now (but hurt my back!  D'oh!) so it really is time to catch up with blogging... Here is my take on Stick It Down 's May sketch. The sketch was made very much with mixed media in mind and that is the route I took.  It also looks fab made up with sections of patterned papers - I reckon this sketch will work with most styles.  I've used black and white and supplies from Freckled Fawn and Feed My Craft.  I hope you can find time to squeeze in this sketch and share it over at Stick It Down .  There is a Freckled Fawn prize up for grabs! Oh, I almost forgot... here's the process video!

Stuck-ish

You know when you see a sketch and get inspired but by the end of the creation it doesn't really look all that much like the sketch?  Yep, read on... This is the January skecth from Laura W at Stuck and the diamonds started me thinking about a pack of epoxy cloud stickers in my stash.  Already this doesn't make sense, diamonds, clouds, what?! However, I really like how it turned out.  Can you see the sketch?  The diamonds hanging down become the clouds, moon and stars.   I worked on a smaller panel so the scale was right.  When the clouds were stretched across a 12x12 they looked too small. I had fun with some doodling, pencil work and sewing.  It has made me think; I have 4 sets of different colouring pencils and I never use them in my scrapbooking.  This has got to change!! I popped my panel up and tucked loads of sequins in and around the edge.  I love this look and think I definitely need to play with it more in...
