Showing posts with the label aeroplane

Scrapbooking | July Catch Up

Here are the layouts I've shared on my social media over the last couple of weeks... ad This one was for Skull and Cross Buns recent appearance on HOCHANDA TV. Snippets from a  colourful layout.  (Not shared in full due to the photos scrapped.) Ad  A fun gift wrap and card set using the latest Lollipop Box Club kit.  You can read more about this project here: https://www.lollipopboxclub.com/quick-card-gift-wrap-with-laura/ A watercolour sky with heat embossed aeroplanes. You can catch the process video for this here: https://youtu.be/mUQ_YWsPKXw And lastly a layout made from start to finish...  I drew the dot mandala in procreate, designed a few other printable pieces (labels, tabs, title and patterned paper layers) printed them on our home printer and created this. I then went through all my SpiegelMom sequin mixes and pulled out matching colours to make a custom sequin mix to embellish with.

Aeroplane

Little Neph loves to sit at the window and look for aeroplanes.  This cut file was the perfect way to illustrate his current obsession. I cut a bunch of extra clouds and backed them with vellum.  I backed the aeroplane with vellum and then patterned paper.  This gives a lovely muted colour. I painted the background with my Daniel Smith watercolours.

Stashbusting: Wood Veneer

I have a love hate relationship with wood veneer.  I apparently love to buy it and hate to use it!! So I aimed to use a whole bunch all on one layout and this is what happened!  The cut file and the majority of the wood are from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I stuck to using white and the colour of the wood.  This helps to keep a clean and fresh look and keeps the focus on the wood (as well as the all important photo!) I added some white hand sewing for texture... and popped my title up on foam.  I love the way that this casts shadows. I also added a generous coat of irridescent splatters which show in real life much better than they show in the photos! Thanks for watching!
